The corridor was filled with a putrid smell, and Xiao Douzi fought back his nausea as he pressed on. 0

Suddenly, he felt his foot give way beneath him; he had stepped on a loose stone slab. 0

His body lurched forward, but fortunately, he reacted quickly, bracing himself against the wall just in time to avoid falling. 0

"Ah! That scared me to death!" Xiao Douzi exclaimed, still shaken. 0

He carefully stepped over the stone slab and continued to run. 0

Meanwhile, Ergouzi and San Lengzi were having their own troubles behind him. 0

San Lengzi, who was quite stout, struggled to squeeze through the narrow passage, muttering under his breath, "This corridor is way too cramped! If it weren't for that treasure, I wouldn't be putting myself through this!" 0

Ergouzi, impatiently urging him from the front, said, "Hurry up! If you dawdle any longer, that little brat will be long gone!" 0

Hearing their conversation from ahead made Xiao Douzi even more anxious. He knew that if he got caught, not only would his life be in danger, but he could also drag uncle Zhang Qi and the others into trouble. 0

Summoning his courage, he quickened his pace. 0

After running for a while, Xiao Douzi noticed a glimmer of light at the end of the corridor. 0

His heart leaped with joy; he thought he had found an exit and dashed toward the light without hesitation. 0

When he burst out of the corridor, however, he found himself in a larger tomb chamber. In the center stood a massive stone sarcophagus, surrounded by strange patterns and inscriptions carved into its surface. 0

Curious, Xiao Douzi approached the sarcophagus to take a closer look. Just as he was about to reach its side, he suddenly heard a low humming sound; the sarcophagus seemed to tremble slightly. 0

Startled, Xiao Douzi quickly took a few steps back. 0

"Surely there can't be any monsters in this sarcophagus?" Xiao Douzi thought fearfully. 0

He tried to turn and leave, but found Ergouzi and San Lengzi had already caught up, blocking his escape route. 0

"Where do you think you're running to?" Ergouzi said with a smug grin. 0

Xiao Douzi looked at them in despair, knowing he was trapped. 0

At that moment, the tremors from the sarcophagus grew louder, and the lid slowly began to open. A powerful gust of air surged out, knocking Xiao Douzi, Ergouzi, and San Lengzi to the ground. 0

Seizing the opportunity, Xiao Douzi scrambled to his feet and ran in another direction. Ergouzi and San Lengzi were momentarily stunned by the sudden turn of events, taking a while to react before chasing after him. 0

Meanwhile, Zhang Qi and his companions were gradually falling into a predicament in their battle against Wang Batian's gang. The ancient tomb in Daxing'anling was already eerie and cold, and the atmosphere felt as tense as a bowstring pulled tight, ready to snap at any moment. 0

Everyone's stamina and energy were nearly depleted; sweat soaked their clothes but was quickly chilled by the tomb's icy air. 0

Zhang Qi had a cut on his arm from a knife wielded by one of Wang Batian's men, blood seeping out and staining his sleeve. But he couldn't afford to feel the pain; he gripped his shovel tightly, keeping a wary eye on his surroundings. 0

Lao Hu's forehead was slick with sweat that trickled down his cheeks, dripping onto the dusty ground. His breathing was rapid and heavy, and the shield in his hand trembled slightly from prolonged defense. 0

Just as they felt overwhelmed, a powerful, sinister aura surged from deep within the tomb passage, as if carrying a chill that had lingered for millennia, penetrating to their very bones. 0

Suddenly, a horde of zombies appeared before them. 0

These zombies had grotesque faces with hollow eye sockets that resembled two bottomless black holes. They emitted a nauseating stench reminiscent of rotting fish and shrimp that had spoiled for days, making everyone want to cover their noses. 0

Their movements were stiff yet possessed an eerie rhythm. Their tattered clothing revealed shriveled skin and protruding bones, as if they had crawled out from hell itself. 0

"My God, what is that?" Lao Hu's eyes widened, his voice trembling slightly as he tightened his grip on the shield in his hand. 0

Despite having roamed the martial world for many years and seen countless strange things, the sight of the zombies before him filled him with an unprecedented fear. 0

Seeing this, A Ling immediately began to cast a spell. The calm expression on her face was now replaced with seriousness. 0

She quickly pulled out a talisman from her pocket, chanting incantations that echoed through the silent tomb passage. 0

The talisman ignited instantly, emitting a golden light that temporarily halted the zombies' advance. The flames illuminated the faces of everyone present, revealing a mixture of terror and hope. 0

A Ling's gaze was resolute and focused; she knew her magic was their only barrier at that moment, so she dared not let her guard down. 0

Professor Li observed calmly from the side. Although his legs trembled slightly, years of archaeological research allowed him to suppress his inner fear. 0

He adjusted his glasses and carefully studied the zombies' movements, frowning as he muttered to himself, "Their movement patterns seem to be under some kind of remote control by a mysterious force; it doesn't appear to be natural." 0

His eyes scanned back and forth over the zombies, trying to discern any patterns or weaknesses in their actions. 0

Zhang Qi took a deep breath, attempting to steady himself. Gripping the shovel tightly, he said, "No matter what it is, we can't just sit here and wait. Professor, have you spotted any weaknesses?" 0

Professor Li focused intently on the joints of the zombies and replied, "Look, these joints seem to be their weak points; attacking there might be effective." 0

He pointed at the zombies' knees and elbows, a glimmer of hope in his eyes. 0

"Alright then, let's give it a shot!" Lao Hu gritted his teeth and brandished his dagger as he charged toward the Zombie Horde. 0

He took a quick step forward, aiming for one zombie's knee with all his strength. 0

The dagger pierced the zombie's joint, producing a creaking sound, and indeed, the zombie's movements slowed for a moment. 0

Lao Hu felt a surge of joy in his heart and seized the opportunity to stab a few more times. Gradually, the zombie's legs lost their strength, and with a thud, it collapsed to the ground. 0

"There's a chance!" Seeing this, Zhang Qi also mustered his courage and fought alongside Lao Hu. 0

They dodged the zombies' attacks while looking for opportunities to strike at their joints. 0

Zhang Qi raised his shovel high and brought it down hard on one zombie's elbow joint. The zombie's arm was knocked off course, causing its attack to miss. 0

However, the number of zombies was overwhelming, surging in wave after wave. A Ling's talismans were dwindling, and she anxiously shouted, "This won't work; we need a way to solve this completely!" 0

Beads of sweat formed on her forehead, and there was a hint of panic in her eyes. 0

"Hold on for now; let me see if there's any clue around this tomb passage," Professor Li said as he began to feel along the walls of the tomb, straining his eyes in the dim light to search for any possible mechanisms or hints. 0

His fingers gently brushed over each brick in the wall, hoping to find something unusual. 0

In the brief moments between battles, Zhang Qi stole a glance at the unconscious monkey, filled with worry. 0

He knew that they had to quickly deal with these zombies and find a way to rescue the monkey if they were to leave the ancient tomb safely. 0

At that moment, a zombie broke through their defenses and lunged toward A Ling. 0
