The atmosphere was heavy with silence as everyone felt the weight of survival. Under the protection of Guardian Elder Duan Jing, they had only encountered a few low-level beasts on their journey and had not faced any more Beast Tides. The rampaging beasts seemed to have returned to their previous calm.

Chen Li felt the eerie aura of the Azure Wind Mountain Range gradually fade into the distance, yet his heart grew heavier. He looked down at the mountains shrinking in the distance, resembling a giant beast lying on the earth—cold and silent.
This experience had been a painful lesson for the Three Major Forces. Heaven's Gate and Golden Sun Sect suffered significant losses, and the Imperial Academy was not far behind. If it weren't for Duan Jing's timely arrival, they might have perished there.
It seemed that in this world, strength was paramount for survival. Chen Li sighed inwardly; while pretending to be weak could be exhilarating, one needed enough trump cards to back it up. Otherwise, one might not even know how they died.
He touched the hedgehog hidden in his sleeve; it had fallen into a deep sleep since Guardian Elder's appearance, even its breath completely concealed. It seemed he would need to investigate what kind of divine beast this hedgehog truly was. After all, he had never seen such a peculiar creature before. It couldn't possibly just be a hedgehog, could it?
Upon returning to the Imperial Academy, a suffocating atmosphere enveloped the entire campus. The grim losses from their trials left everyone in low spirits; even the usually bustling training grounds felt unusually desolate.
Chen Li went straight back to his residence; he needed to organize his gains from this experience and plan ahead. Shen Qingyue was doing the same.
Though this trial had been fraught with danger and nearly cost them their lives, it had also provided her with ample self-awareness and growth. Regardless of how high they had climbed in the past, life required them to start anew from scratch.
Now, they needed to grow quickly and cultivate diligently. Chen Li locked himself in the Cultivation Room, focusing intently on his training.

At this moment, the hedgehog that had been following Chen Li around had grown a bit as well. It now sported an extra layer of dark fur, fluffy like a little ball. Its large, pitch-black eyes frequently darted around, often sneaking back from outside.

The hedgehog was startled by the sudden movement, its four paws flailing as its small, bean-like eyes spun around in a display of innocence. "This Divine Beast is suppressing the existence of heaven and earth; why would I do anything wrong?" it protested in a childish voice, laced with disdain. "Those little candies you have? This Divine Beast doesn't care for them at all."
As it spoke, the hedgehog seemed to realize it had let something slip and abruptly stopped talking. Chen Li's expression darkened as he narrowed his eyes and asked coldly, "You weren't sneaking off to steal pills from the Dan Hall, were you?"
Upon hearing this, the hedgehog immediately tucked its head into its fluffy fur. "This Divine Beast is tired—so tired," it mumbled before letting out a loud snore from beneath its fluff.
Chen Li couldn't help but laugh in anger. "Pretending to sleep? Do you think I'm that gullible?" His expression turned fierce as he summoned a flicker of Vital Energy that transformed into a strand of crimson flame. "You little rascal! You dare act tough in the academy? Just wait until I catch you; I'll cook you up!"
Feeling the intense heat, the hedgehog shot out like a bolt of black lightning. "This Divine Beast has saved so many lives; what's wrong with eating some low-grade candies? Those things aren't even enough to fill my teeth! You ungrateful bunch!"
Chen Li ignored its excuses and dashed after it. This little creature was truly incorrigible; it was aiming for the skies! Trying to run away? Not so easy!
Thus began an intense chase between man and beast within the Imperial Academy.
Although the hedgehog was fast, Chen Li was not to be underestimated. The hedgehog had already recognized him as its master, and no matter how far it ran, Chen Li could easily find it.
Before long, the hedgehog was darting around, dodging left and right, occasionally trying to weave through a group of training students in an attempt to hinder Chen Li's pursuit. This was all because when Chen Li had returned to rescue someone on a flying beast, he had credited this kind-hearted little creature for its help. This also allowed him to conceal part of the hedgehog's identity, enabling it to appear before everyone without having to hide.
Unexpectedly, as the story spread, this little guy became known as the divine beast of the Imperial Academy and was adored by many. Now, it was relying on the protection of its seniors and acting recklessly!
The little creature was quite slippery! Chen Li was fuming and felt an even stronger urge to teach it a lesson.
Before long, the hedgehog found itself cornered at the entrance of the Dan Hall. Now there was nowhere left to run! Chen Li grabbed the hedgehog by its front legs and lifted it up.
The hedgehog looked at Chen Li with pitiful eyes, its black bean-like eyes filled with a sense of grievance and pleading for mercy.
"Tell me, how many pills did you steal?" Chen Li asked coldly.
The hedgehog stammered and refused to speak.
Not going to say anything, huh? Chen Li's fingers ignited with flames once more. It seemed you preferred punishment over a friendly drink!
The hedgehog trembled in fear and quickly said, "I-I stole one Qi Gathering Pill!"
"One?" Chen Li clearly didn't believe it. With that strong medicinal scent coming from it, could one Qi Gathering Pill really be that potent?
The hedgehog lowered its head sheepishly and muttered, "Actually, it was three."
"Three?" Chen Li's expression darkened further. Surely it wasn't just that?
This little creature still wasn't being honest. The rich aroma surrounding it definitely couldn't come from just three pills.
Just then, the doors of the Dan Hall swung open abruptly, and an elderly man in a white robe stepped out with a grim expression.
Upon seeing the hedgehog, his face turned ashen: "You little thief again! Old Madam insists on refining Elixirs with you!"
The old man was Elder Li, also known as Li Hua, and at that moment his beard seemed ready to fly off in anger.
The little hedgehog quickly burrowed into Chen Li's arms and cried out, "Master, save my life!"
