Meng Chengzhi paced back and forth in the office, gritting his teeth as he thought about how to teach Lu Xiaoran a lesson. Suddenly, it struck him that he was the group admin of their employee chat, and with that authority, he could kick Lu Xiaoran out of the group.
Feeling a surge of satisfaction at this realization, Meng Chengzhi quickly grabbed his phone and opened the WeChat group. He noticed two new messages from Lu Xiaoran.
"I'm resigning today. I won't stick around for this lousy company any longer."
"Brothers in the group, listen to my advice—there's no future working for a boss like this."
Meng Chengzhi's face flushed with anger as he read the messages, his chest heaving with rage. He hurriedly opened the group management page, eager to remove Lu Xiaoran. To his dismay, he discovered that Lu Xiaoran had already left the group on his own.
At that moment, the forty or so employees in the group were all grinning from ear to ear. Everyone who worked at the company had faced Meng Chengzhi's wrath at some point, but no one had dared to speak up for fear of losing their jobs. Now that Lu Xiaoran had done what they all wished they could do but were too afraid to attempt, it was a source of great relief for them.
However, they only dared to support Lu Xiaoran in their hearts; no one would voice their thoughts in the group. While Lu Xiaoran could afford to resign casually, they couldn't—after all, their families depended on them.
In the office, Meng Chengzhi was now completely frantic. He wanted to call Lu Xiaoran again but realized he had been blocked. In frustration, he slammed his phone down onto the desk, his face turning a deep shade of anger.
Suddenly, his phone rang. Thinking it was Lu Xiaoran calling back, he quickly answered it. But as soon as he picked up, the call ended abruptly.
Checking the caller ID revealed it was a virtual number. Just as he was pondering this strange occurrence, his phone rang again. It was the same situation—he answered only for it to disconnect immediately. After several repetitions of this frustrating cycle, Meng Chengzhi finally realized someone had signed him up for harassment calls.
He could easily guess it was Lu Xiaoran behind this prank.
Fuming with rage and his features contorted in anger, Meng Chengzhi began shouting and throwing things around the office. He kicked over his desk, and his laptop worth over ten thousand shattered into pieces upon hitting the floor.
The teacups, vases, picture frames, and various items in the office were strewn all over the floor, creating a chaotic mess of shattered pieces. After smashing things for quite a while, Meng Chengzhi collapsed onto the ground, panting heavily.
Even though he was gritting his teeth in anger, he had no way to deal with Lu Xiaoran now, especially since Lu Xiaoran had already resigned from his company.
At that moment, Lu Xiaoran was comfortably leaning back in the rear seat of a taxi, his hands clasped behind his head. He had just signed up for a harassment service using Meng Chengzhi's phone number. After this service was activated, Meng Chengzhi would receive a harassing call every five seconds.
For just a hundred bucks, he had set up a monthly subscription. Enjoy it well, haha.
Lu Xiaoran chuckled to himself; before the apocalypse, being able to teach this wealthy boss a lesson was certainly a source of amusement.
