Bang!
Before anyone could react, Lin Tianyu swiftly pulled a grenade from his storage space and hurled it into the crowd gathered around Wang Peng. The night had fallen, and visibility was nearly zero; the group had no time to respond.
A loud explosion echoed through the air as the grenade detonated. Wang Peng and his men were thrown into chaos by the sudden blast. Despite their high-quality gear, they were merely a bunch of thugs with limited reaction capabilities. The explosion claimed several lives on the spot.
In an instant, both sides found cover and engaged in fierce gunfire.
Rat-a-tat-tat!
Gunfire rang out across the night sky. Lin Tianyu's team was equipped with military-grade night vision goggles, allowing them to clearly see the enemy's positions and shoot accurately. In contrast, Wang Peng's side lacked such equipment, putting them at a disadvantage as they fired blindly.
Dazed from the explosion, Wang Peng narrowly escaped but found his hair singed and disheveled. He cursed inwardly, thinking how dishonorable this was!
"Lame Man, use the Mortar on them!" Wang Peng shouted as he took cover behind a half-collapsed building.
The man designated as Lame Man quickly retrieved a Mortar from their vehicle and adjusted its firing direction as best he could. With no lights illuminating the area and poor visibility, he could only fire blindly.
A shell whistled through the air and exploded near Lin Tianyu's group, sending dust flying everywhere. The deafening blast left their ears ringing, as if they might lose their hearing altogether.
As Lin Tianyu struggled to clear his ears to alleviate the discomfort, he couldn't help but curse loudly: "These bastards have decent gear! Damn it, do you think you're the only ones with artillery?"
His expression darkened, eyes filled with fury. He then swung his arm and instantly retrieved several Rocket Launchers and boxes of shells from his storage space. The weapons were neatly arranged on the ground, exuding an intimidating aura.
"Give it to them!" Lin Tianyu shouted hoarsely at Lin Yi and the others.
Without hesitation, Lin Yi and his team shouldered the Rocket Launchers, aimed in Wang Peng's direction, and pulled the triggers as shells whistled out one after another.
Boom, boom, boom.
In an instant, the buildings in the area collapsed like a row of dominoes. The location of their firefight was at the entrance of the villa district, surrounded by various shopping malls and residential buildings, which greatly limited the accuracy of the shells.
Wang Peng's remaining dozen or so men scurried around like rats, using the buildings to shield themselves from the bombardment. Lin Tianyu gritted his teeth in frustration, but there was nothing they could do. After all, the enemy was equally well-equipped.
At this moment, they could only choose to attack from a distance. If they attempted to close in for a direct assault, it could easily result in casualties. Losing a few of these low-level operatives would be far too costly.
These individuals were not like the characters in movies who held guns but stood there foolishly waiting to be shot. Each of them wielded a submachine gun or an assault rifle, firing indiscriminately without hesitation. Some didn't even bother to look; they simply exposed their weapons from behind cover and unleashed a barrage of fire!
In real battlefields, no one would engage in face-to-face shooting like in the movies! If one charged forward without caution, they would be turned into a sieve before getting close.
With both sides possessing artillery and being well-equipped, the next phase would come down to who had more ammunition.
