Sun Er immediately pulled out a set of lock-picking tools and began to examine Lin Tianyu's door lock. After a while, he suddenly stopped his movements.
"Why did you stop? Can't you get it open?" Ren Jie asked anxiously.
Sun Er shook his head and said, "I can open the lock, but the question is, how do we split the food?"
Hearing this, Ren Jie frowned and thought for a moment before replying, "I'll give you thirty percent; that should work, right?" Liu Dahu quickly nodded in agreement with this proposal.
However, Sun Er remained unmoved. Gripping his lock-picking tools tightly, he said firmly, "How do I know you’ll keep your promise? What if you back out later?"
Ren Jie’s expression darkened as he glared at Sun Er and gritted his teeth, asking, "What do you want then?"
Sun Er's eyes roamed over Xu Qingqing with a mischievous glint before he grinned and said, "I want her to sleep with me. Heh heh heh."
At this, Xu Qingqing immediately shouted, "You’re insane!"
Ren Jie couldn’t help but yell angrily, "Are you looking for death? What are you thinking at a time like this?"
Sun Er shrugged off their reactions, saying nonchalantly, "I don’t care. How do I know that once the door is open, you won’t sell me out? You have to give me something first."
His antics left everyone present dumbfounded. It was late at night, and everyone was there just to get something to eat. His behavior was utterly pointless. The neighbors began to voice their disapproval of Sun Er.
At that moment, Liu Dahu could no longer contain his anger. He rushed forward and grabbed Sun Er by the neck, snarling, "Do you want to die? Do you think I won't kill you right now?"
Chaos erupted in the room!
Xu Qingqing raised her voice sharply, "Everyone be quiet! If you keep arguing, Lin Tianyu will wake up."
Internally anxious, she thought that if these people really killed Sun Er, it would alert Lin Tianyu. Things would become uncontrollable then. With that thought in mind, she frowned.
At Xu Qingqing's command, everyone fell silent. They realized that if they continued to argue, it might draw Lin Tianyu's attention.
Thus, they all quieted down, though hostility and dissatisfaction lingered in their eyes.
Xu Qingqing assessed the situation and knew she had to resolve this issue quickly. Taking a deep breath to calm herself, she said to Sun Er as calmly as possible, "Go ahead and open the door. Once we deal with Lin Tianyu, I’ll accompany you."
She understood that Sun Er was greedy; only by offering him something could she temporarily placate him.
Ren Jie was instantly filled with rage upon hearing those words, ready to retort. However, Xu Qingqing quickly intervened, signaling him to remain calm. She knew that she couldn't let the situation spiral out of control; the consequences would be dire.
Sun Er, on the other hand, was adamant, insisting that they should first obtain the permit before opening the door.
Liu Dahu, witnessing this, was also furious. He glared at Sun Er and said menacingly, "If you keep stalling, do you believe I won't just kill you right now?" With that, he swung his arm forcefully, as if ready to take action at any moment.
