Lin Tianyu and Chu Xiaoli had just finished their morning exercise when Chu Xiaoli cheerfully walked into the kitchen, eager to showcase her culinary skills. Lin Tianyu, well aware of her exceptional cooking abilities, felt a surge of anticipation as he prepared to savor her signature dishes.
Before long, a variety of delicious home-cooked meals were laid out on the dining table. Lin Tianyu couldn't help but praise her cooking after tasting the dishes! He particularly adored the braised pork, showering Chu Xiaoli with compliments about her culinary prowess and expressing how the dish left him wanting more.
Just as they were enjoying their meal, a sudden knock at the door shattered the tranquility. Lin Tianyu opened the door's surveillance feed and was astonished to find that the visitor was Xu Qingqing. What could have prompted her unexpected visit?
"Who is that?" Chu Xiaoli asked curiously.
Lin Tianyu replied, "Someone who should have been dead by now; her survival is just a way to prolong her suffering!" His tone shifted as he added, "If you dare betray me, I will make your end even worse!"
Chu Xiaoli's face paled at his words, and she dared not speak.
Outside, Xu Qingqing's weak voice called out, "Lin Brother, Manli and I are starving; we haven't eaten in two days. Please have mercy on us and give us some food." Her voice was hoarse and feeble, as if she had endured great torment.
Lin Tianyu ignored her; after all, it was because he had trusted this woman that he had suffered so much. Why would he open the door now? That would be foolish!
Seeing that Lin Tianyu refused to open the door, Xu Qingqing finally dropped her facade. She no longer concealed her true nature. Turning to Ren Jie and his brothers behind her, she shouted, "Stop hiding! Come out!"
Ren Jie and his brothers emerged from the shadows, brandishing tools as they marched menacingly toward Lin Tianyu's front door. With a loud crash, they began to pound on the door relentlessly. Each strike echoed like thunder, as if they intended to break down the entire door.
The relentless banging reverberated from outside, sounding like a storm that shook the entire room.
This sudden turn of events left Lin Tianyu momentarily stunned, a flicker of doubt rising within him. He quickly opened the surveillance screen to see what was happening outside.
The screen clearly displayed a chaotic scene at his doorstep: a dozen people wielding hammers and axes were violently assaulting his front door. Xu Qingqing stood nearby, smugly directing the group.
Lin Tianyu scoffed coldly: "What a performance!" He had anticipated that this woman wouldn't give up so easily.
Chu Xiaoli leaned in to glance at the surveillance footage and frowned in disapproval. "This woman is truly vicious!"
Lin Tianyu calmly said, "You finish your meal and go rest. I'll handle the rest."
After speaking, he turned and walked towards the door, ready to face the challenge ahead.
In the hallway, Ren Jie waved his tool excitedly and shouted, "Smash it hard! Whoever can break this door open will get a share of my food!"
Hearing this, the Brothers put even more effort into smashing the door, as if they could already see the tempting food right in front of them. Little did they know what kind of outcome awaited them.
As they continued to strike, a sense of unease began to creep in. One of them spoke up, "Boss, something feels off about this door. We've been hitting it for so long, and it hasn't budged at all!"
Ren Jie stepped forward and touched the door, only to find that there was barely a faint mark on it—no dents or damage whatsoever!
"Impossible! Keep smashing! I refuse to believe we can't break down this damn door today!" Ren Jie furrowed his brow, feeling a mix of doubt and determination. He decided to increase his strength and swung his iron rod down hard against the door once more.
