Lin Tianyu put down his phone and continued to enjoy the delicious food. While he was savoring life, his neighbors were in dire straits, each one starving and feeling the pangs of hunger.
Meanwhile, in Chu Xiaoli's home, she was anxiously searching for food. She was so hungry that her selfish husband had taken advantage of her sleep and devoured the last bit of food they had at home. They had once had a decent stockpile that could last three to five days, but now, after rummaging through the entire room, Chu Xiaoli couldn't find a single bite to eat.
Furious, she confronted the bald man lounging on the sofa. "Wu Yong, how could you eat all the food?"
Wu Yong was Chu Xiaoli's husband. She continued, "I didn't eat anything yesterday just to save some food! And you went ahead and ate it all!" Chu Xiaoli shouted angrily at Wu Yong. "Now we can't even go out; what are we supposed to do?" She kept venting her frustrations.
Wu Yong, however, was engrossed in his phone and paid no attention to her anger or anxiety. Unable to tolerate it any longer, Chu Xiaoli snatched Wu Yong's phone away and yelled, "You jerk! What are you doing? Can't you see I'm worried? Think of a way to solve this problem!"
Startled by her action, Wu Yong didn't respond immediately. Instead, he impatiently retorted, "What are you yelling about? Can't you see I'm busy? Just let me play!"
Chu Xiaoli's chest heaved with anger as she looked at this lazy and irresponsible man with utter disdain. This guy spent all day eating, drinking, and having fun without a care in the world, often getting drunk and causing trouble.
The more she looked at him, the more disgusted she felt. Regret washed over her as she thought about how she had been blind enough to marry such a man.
While scrolling through his phone, Wu Yong casually said, "Why are you so mad? Aren't you always flirting with our neighbors? Just borrow some food from them."
Hearing this made Chu Xiaoli furious. "You're talking nonsense! Who's flirting with anyone?" She added, "Everyone is out of food; who can we borrow from?"
Wu Yong continued to look at his phone dismissively. "Isn't Lin Tianyu still stocked up? You can ask him for some."
Chu Xiaoli gritted her teeth in anger and replied with wide eyes, "How can we even get out now? How would he possibly give us food?"
Without hesitation, Wu Yong answered, "You have such a nice figure; if you just flirt with him a little bit, won't you be able to get some food?"
Then he added, "If that doesn't work, then you should sacrifice yourself. Sleep with him and trick him into giving you everything he has."
Hearing such shocking words from her husband, Chu Xiaoli trembled with anger, nearly unable to stand.
She widened her eyes and questioned Wu Yong with rage on her face, "Wu Yong!! Are you really going to let your wife sleep with another man just for a bit of food? Do you have any humanity left?"
"We're starving here! This kind of deal is a sure win; getting a full meal is the most important thing!"
Wu Yong waved his hand impatiently and said, "Hurry up, I'm still hungry. Just move quickly; I won't mind."
"Fine, you're something else!" Chu Xiaoli replied through gritted teeth.
After so many years of marriage, she finally realized that the man before her had a heart of a beast!
For years, she had devoted herself to maintaining this family, only to receive such a result in return. The man she had cared for all these years now wanted to trade her for food!
What Chu Xiaoli didn't know was that without Lin Tianyu's intervention, a few months later, Wu Yong would have no hesitation in selling her to someone else in exchange for a loaf of bread!
"This is what you said; don't regret it," Chu Xiaoli said quietly, no longer struggling.
Initially, she felt some guilt in her heart, but now that trace of guilt had completely vanished!
Dressed in thick clothing, Chu Xiaoli left her home and arrived at Lin Tianyu's doorstep, knocking on the door.
