"Is that barbecue on your table? I really want to eat some, Lin Brother. Could you let me have a taste?"
Xu Qingqing thought that given Lin Tianyu's usual behavior as a devoted admirer, if she just asked a little, he would immediately rush over with food for her.
However, upon reading her message, Lin Tianyu couldn't help but chuckle.
"Still want me to be your devoted admirer? What do you have that’s worth my admiration?" Lin Tianyu sneered inwardly, completely ignoring Xu Qingqing's request.
He replied, "I ordered from Juchun Tower; you can go buy it yourself!"
After seeing this message, Xu Qingqing stared blankly at her phone screen, filled with confusion and disbelief.
"What does that mean? Go buy it myself? It's freezing outside!"
Just surviving the cold would be a miracle; how could she possibly go out to buy food? Besides, the restaurants wouldn't even be open right now!
Xu Qingqing took a deep breath to calm her emotions, adjusted her mindset, and sent another message to Lin Tianyu.
"But I don’t want to go! My skin is so delicate; what if I get frostbite?"
She squeezed her voice into a high-pitched tone, sending a voice message in what she thought was a sweet and gentle manner: "That's mean! Why would you make me go out like this? Please bring me something to eat!"
She thought that by acting cute, Lin Tianyu would surely comply.
Then she continued, "I remember you stocked up before the snow started. Can you share some with me?"
Xu Qingqing figured this snow wouldn’t last long, so she planned to keep Lin Tianyu close for enough food to get through this tough time. Once the snow stopped, she would kick him aside without hesitation. This way, she could solve her immediate hunger problem and rid herself of a burden.
Thinking of this made her smile with satisfaction.
However, Lin Tianyu replied again: "I've eaten everything I stocked up; all that's left are these King Crabs, lobsters, and steaks."
Seeing Lin Tianyu's reply made Xu Qingqing's face turn red with anger as she gritted her teeth and said to Zhang Manli: "This Lin Tianyu is so ungrateful! If it weren't for the lack of food right now, he wouldn't even have the chance to trick me!"
Zhang Manli nodded in agreement, equally indignant: "Exactly! A guy like him deserves to be single for life; who would want him?"
Xu Qingqing's chest heaved with rage as she continued to vent: "Who does he think he is? Just because he has some money? He really thinks too highly of himself!"
Zhang Manli also cursed, "Exactly, what’s so great about him? He’s just a selfish jerk!"
The two of them became more and more animated in their insults, as if they were trying to vent all their frustrations. However, after a while, Xu Qingqing gradually calmed down, realizing that Lin Tianyu wouldn’t be bringing her food anytime soon. She sighed helplessly and muttered to herself, "Looks like I need to find another sycophant."
Meanwhile, a shrewd glint flashed in Zhang Manli's eyes, as if she was plotting something, but it remained elusive to anyone else.
