Hearing Lei Dongyue's words, Gu Ping smiled but did not respond. He thought to himself that the incident had occurred just over a month ago and had already become known among all major sects. It seemed that within the academy, there were still those with malicious intent who wished to see him dead.
"Look over there," Lei Dongyue pointed towards the position of the Big Dipper in the distance. Seven shining stars illuminated the entire night sky, suggesting that a powerful Spirit Rune was likely appearing.
"Is Lei Dongyue not going to step forward?"
"No rush; I want to see what's over there."
Gu Ping followed Lei Dongyue's gaze towards the North Star. Although its light was faint, it flickered unpredictably, indicating that something special was indeed present in that direction.
Azure Dragon Seven Stars
As Gu Ping and Lei Dongyue soared into the air, they rushed toward the location of the Azure Dragon Seven Stars, crashing directly into the Starlit Mist. If one were to judge the power of a Spirit Rune by the brightness of the stars in the sky, then the Azure Dragon Seven Stars would surely be the most dazzling celestial bodies in that expanse.
Upon entering the Starlit Mist, Gu Ping realized that what Minghong referred to as mist was indeed a thick fog. This description was apt because the vast starry sky was shrouded by a powerful rune barrier, causing cultivators' Divine Sense to be unable to penetrate it. What should have been clearly reflected in their Divine Sense now appeared in their minds as if enveloped in a dense fog, making it hard to discern.
Once inside the Starlit Mist, Gu Ping lost sight of Lei Dongyue but relied on his previous memories to navigate forward. He gently stroked his Soul Ring with his leg. Although he didn’t believe that Huashen Dong had anything that could harm him, it was always wise to be cautious; after all, the Cultivation World was filled with all sorts of strange things. If he were truly caught off guard by something, it could lead to disastrous consequences.
Not long after, Gu Ping spotted a lively Little Guy darting past him. From its appearance, it was evident that it possessed some powerful Spirit Rune.
Gu Ping executed a swift kick, releasing a strong suction from his leg that directly captured the seemingly frail little Spirit Rune. With a gentle flick of his leg, a ring appeared before him. The little Spirit Rune seemed somewhat listless but shook its head and continued bouncing away.
As Gu Ping gazed at the ring at his feet, he suddenly felt something stir within his heart, but when he looked around, he saw no one nearby.
Perhaps it was due to the Starlit Mist or some similar effect that confused the mind, Gu Ping thought, dismissing it and continuing on his way.
Before long, just as Gu Ping sought something for himself, he unexpectedly encountered someone.
"You seem unfamiliar. May I ask your name?"
Gu Ping looked up to see a Qingyu Monk approaching. Since Qingyu had only recently arrived at the Spirit Rune Pavilion, they hadn’t had much conversation before. Their meeting now felt like a twist of fate, leaving Gu Ping curious about what intentions the Qingyu Monk might have.
"Disciples of the Academy," Gu Ping.
"Nice to meet you, nice to meet you. Have you had any luck, Master? It seems that my luck has run out; it's been almost a whole incense stick's worth of time, and I haven't seen a single Spirit Rune. Truly unfortunate."
"Master Qingyu, you jest. With your strength, I doubt any Spirit Rune could escape your grasp. How about we travel together? We can split whatever we find."
"If there is indeed something to be found, may I share in Master Gu's fortune?"
"Please, Master Qingyu."
"Please, Master Gu."
The two walked side by side towards the direction where Gu Ping had just flown from, passing by the Spirit Rune Pavilion. Gu Ping was quite intrigued; the only thing that piqued his interest was that the Spirit Rune Pavilion seemed to know the location of the Righteous and Evil Battlefield. If they could gather information about its whereabouts, based on the fragmented memories of the Primordial Celestial Demon, Gu Ping might be able to find quite a few treasures.
For some reason, Coco seemed to embody what Master Qingyu had said; his luck was indeed poor. The two had walked for quite a while without encountering another Spirit Rune, causing Qingyu to shake his head and sigh.
"It seems I've brought misfortune upon you, Master. Perhaps we should part ways here so as not to delay your luck any further."
"You jest, Master. My junior brother Bu Luo has found a small item; Keke has done well in leading us. Why don't we—"
Before Gu Ping could finish his sentence, a loud crash echoed from not far away. It seemed someone had discovered a powerful Spirit Rune. The two exchanged knowing smiles and quickly headed towards the source of the sound.
