Greedily, it wanted to extract that crystal but soon discovered it was mistaken.
From the moment its claws made contact with the crystal, the Shadow Demon found that the crystal was absorbing its power. Its spiritual energy surged uncontrollably toward that fist-sized crystal, startling the Shadow Demon. However, it quickly realized there was no way to escape from the crystal's devouring grasp; if things continued like this, it would be completely consumed in less than fifteen minutes.
With a hiss, the Shadow Demon struggled desperately, using all its remaining strength to attack Gu.
