How could there be such a creature among humans? That being was not just a person; it resembled a monstrous beast. The Big Bear felt a chill run down its spine, instinctively wanting to retreat. Although that creature hadn’t inflicted any real harm on it, it had gradually eroded the Big Bear's confidence. No one wanted to clash with a madman, and even beasts were no exception.
Initially, the Big Bear chose to back down. After letting out a growl, it stepped aside to clear the path toward the Broken Wall of Dongyi. It knew that reaching the Broken Wall meant facing the Demon Spirit that resided there. Just because Bu Luo could defeat it didn’t mean it could scale the Broken Wall; each Broken Wall had its own unique guardian Demon Spirit. Previously, there had been swarms of Wind Birds, and Jie Donglai had shattered the Demon Spirit’s seal. That space attribute Demon Spirit hadn’t been challenged in ages.
The Big Bear didn’t rush toward the Broken Wall; it needed to rest first. It understood that if Coco was indeed as powerful as rumored, then that beast must have stood atop countless other beasts to reach such heights at the Broken Wall. The state it was in certainly wouldn’t allow for any mistakes; it needed to recuperate.
The Big Bear glanced at Gu but didn’t seek trouble with him. It had been at the eastern side of the Broken Wall for countless years, constantly launching attacks but never succeeding even once. It didn’t believe this human would succeed either. Although it was the first time seeing a human and recognizing their strength, it had already experienced the might of the Shattered Seal Spirit multiple times. Each failure had drained its confidence; it was no longer prepared to attempt climbing again. When it grew old, it would live like other beasts at the lowest level.
After resting for a while, Gu continued toward the Broken Wall. In less than fifteen minutes, he spotted it. Unlike before, this Broken Wall wasn’t covered in vines; instead, it was barren with some rocks jutting out, seemingly prepared for climbers.
In the center was a cave where the Shattered Seal Spirit was inhaling and exhaling Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy. Suddenly sensing a presence from the east of the Broken Wall, it opened its eyes and looked toward that direction. Through the cave, its silver pupils reflected Gu’s figure. It realized another challenger had arrived; finally, there would be some excitement after so long without anyone daring to challenge it. Bu Luo didn’t seem as formidable as expected.
The Shattered Seal Spirit approached the cave's edge and scrutinized Gu. Experience told it that any spirit reaching the eastern side of the Broken Wall wouldn’t be weak. Moreover, this individual appeared to be human—this place should be a forbidden zone for humans in the Flowing Cloud Realm. How could someone dare step into Spirit Home and attempt to breach Heavenly Ladder? Such arrogance was laughable.
Seeing the silver-red Shattered Seal Spirit, Gu realized he might be facing a true adversary this time. Although this Shattered Seal Spirit wasn’t as powerful as the Shaya Spirit he encountered earlier, its spatial attributes granted it unparalleled offensive strength—normal defenses wouldn’t hold against such an assault, and his body would likely be left in tatters after just one strike.
The Shattered Seal Spirit stood guard there; no Demon Spirit below infancy could cross even half a step beyond that point. Even an ordinary Ying Cultivator would find themselves at a disadvantage against such a being.
Unbeknownst to Gu, this Shattered Seal Spirit held another title that commanded respect from all lower-tier Demon Spirits: Forgiveness. It possessed spiritual power akin to an ocean and boasted formidable spatial attributes that allowed it to continuously draw energy from its surroundings without fear of depletion. One human and one demon faced each other across the expanse—the Shattered Seal Spirit smiled as it sensed Gu’s weary Divine Sense emanating fatigue that couldn’t be concealed any longer. Despite having rested moments ago, Gu hadn’t achieved complete recovery; he merely allowed himself a brief respite from his tense state.
Now Gu sought to break through the initial barrier of the Broken Wall, with a powerful foreign Demon Spirit standing before him. He smiled back; retreat was not an option for him—advancement was all that mattered in that moment. Two words echoed in his heart: move forward.
Gu Yi expressed his attitude through movement, stepping onto a protrusion of the rock wall and beginning to climb. At the moment he placed his foot on the rock, the Shattered Seal Spirit let out a cackling laugh, raising its claw with four fingers and swinging it towards Gu Yi.
Gu Yi felt his foot slip, and he almost fell from the rock wall. However, he quickly steadied himself and avoided looking too clumsy.
Cackling
The Shattered Seal Spirit laughed joyfully like a child, pointing a finger at Gu Yi as if mocking his naivety.
Gu Yi's expression turned serious as he looked at the spot where he had just stepped. To his surprise, the protruding rock appeared to have been sliced cleanly, leaving a smooth cut like that of a knife.
Adjusting his clothes, Gu Yi stood up and surveyed the surroundings of the Broken Wall. He knew that there were no restrictions on flying in this area; there were no beasts that could limit flight. All he needed to do was defeat the Shattered Seal Spirit before him, regardless of the cost.
