The crane belonging to Wang Shizu is said to have lived for at least a thousand years. One wonders what level Wang Shizu has reached.
If it's that impressive, one can't help but wonder if Wang Shizu's crane is more powerful than the fierce tiger of the Ancestor.
But that's not all. Don't be so startled, acting like a country bumpkin.
The disciples watching the ceremony were not discussing anything. Suddenly, an old man appeared out of thin air, standing in the void as if he were at the edge of the sky, yet so close it felt mysterious and profound.
Chen Taishi Ancestor, tomorrow those legendary Middlemen will all come to snatch a newly initiated disciple.
I don't understand. A good disciple in the cultivation world can be closer than one's own descendants. Just because one cultivates smoothly doesn't mean their descendants will reach the same level. Therefore, a good disciple is especially sought after. Not only can they inherit one's teachings, but they also have the potential to elevate the sect. Even if one establishes their own path, there’s still a chance for their legacy to last through the ages.
If only he had a Heavenly Spirit Root too; it’s truly enviable.
Shh.
Suddenly, a small group in the crowd made a gesture for silence, and the noisy square quieted down. The elders were present, and inexplicably, an extra leaf appeared.
Someone whispered from the east, but soon it became noisy again—it's Liu Shizu.
It is said that Liu Shizu is an unparalleled beauty; to meet her by chance is truly a blessing earned over eight lifetimes.
Look at my own shortcomings.
As he lifted his leg, the murmurs around him quieted instantly. Dong Lai, the special disciple of Mok Ming Academy, had completed the Heart's Path and was now being promoted to Outer Court Disciple, enjoying all the privileges that came with this title. Thus, the grand ceremony of apprenticeship was about to begin.
With a booming voice that echoed throughout the square, the sound reached even the great bell hanging atop Anlu Mountain, which chimed melodiously—dong, dong, dong.
After three chimes, a Rainbow Cloud gathered in the sky and slowly descended upon Gu Ping's head as the voice of his master resonated once more.
"May the bright moon grant me auspicious clouds for three lifetimes and seven fortunes, wishing me a future without worries."
Gu Ping bowed deeply and thanked his master loudly.
As the Rainbow Cloud touched Gu Ping's body, it gently lifted him into the sky. Amidst the envious gazes of the crowd, he rose into the blue heavens, looking down upon all living beings.
Then, a small droplet of water appeared out of thin air on Gu Ping's forehead. To his astonishment, it fell onto his brow, filling him with a sense of clarity and tranquility as his master's voice followed.
"May the bright moon grant me a drop of wondrous empty water, wishing my heart to remain undisturbed in the coming month."
He thanked his master again.
Gu Ping bent forward and did not rise, only to hear his master speak for the third time.
"May the bright moon grant me Bodhi Pure Spirit Powder, wishing me freedom from demonic disturbances in the coming month."
He thanked his master three times.
Gu Ping slightly raised her body and then deeply bowed to the east. As she did so, she felt a shiver run through her entire being. It seemed as if something outside of her, related to the Chaos Foundation, had reacted. The brief flicker of response from Bu Luo went unnoticed by anyone else.
Jie Donglai thought it was time for him to choose a master. He looked around to see which Ancestor he wanted to follow, knowing that the decision was entirely his.
No need for that; Liu was determined, and he had already given up.
Whether or not Chen Taishi Ancestor had given up was unclear. Although he had spoken those words, his expression showed no signs of surrender. Liu Shizu must have offered something substantial to make the other Ancestors relent.
The tiger let out a disgruntled sound before soaring into the sky, while a crane also cried out and flew back in the direction it had come from. Chen Taishi Ancestor's figure transformed and vanished into thin air, leaving only the eastern viewing platform with its leaves fluttering in the gaze of the crowd, eventually landing near Gu Ping.
Gu Ping adjusted her posture and greeted the leaves respectfully, saying, "Disciple pays respects to Master."
Due to her respect for the Ancestor, Gu Ping refrained from unnecessary pleasantries. She pondered about the mysterious master who didn't even reveal their face—what kind of person could they be?
As Gu Ping spoke, the leaves slowly transformed into a small boat-like size before gently landing on the ground in front of her.
