"Maybe it's something like what I described!" Ling Chanzi replied earnestly, which raised Gu Ping's eyebrows, thinking that the Little Monk had learned to joke. 0

Gu Ping chuckled and said, "Shouldn't it be something with a gaping maw, horns on its head, sharp teeth, and long bony wings that eats people?" 0

"I don't deny that," Ling Chanzi shook his head. "What I mentioned is a creature from the Ninth Underworld called Asura, also known as the Asura Clan. Since the males of the Asura Clan generally resemble what I described, the human tribes living in the Ninth Underworld refer to them as demons. Later on, people began to call all creatures that coexist with humans in the Ninth Underworld demons, which is different from what you mentioned." 0

"What kind of demons are those?" Gu Ping asked, puzzled. "Aren't demons supposed to be those that stand opposed to humans?" 0

The Buddha spoke of demons as those who obstruct the path of humanity and bring calamity to the world; they are true demons. 0

But how could demons be like humans? 0

True demons are born from the human heart, manifest in the human heart, grow within it, and are shaped by it. Initially possessing powers beyond those of ordinary mortals, they bring disaster; that's what makes them demons. The terrifying monsters that the common folk of Dust Realm speak of are probably just used to scare children. 0

"So are demons not human?" Gu Ping asked in surprise. 0

"Demon... I don't deny that," Ling Chanzi shook his head again, denying Gu Ping's guess. 0

As Ling Chanzi was halfway through explaining about demons, Gu Ping's words abruptly stopped. He understood Ling Chanzi's meaning: demons should be a kind of being born from the human heart rather than from human bodies. 0

But shouldn't demons also be a kind of being? If that's the case, wouldn't the Buddha be able to save them? 0

I don't deny it. Beings, demons deny demons, and demons are independent entities beyond the Three Realms and Six Paths. Therefore, Buddhist teachings cannot save demons; they can only destroy them. 0

What about the Demonic Path? 0

The Demonic Path refers to certain cultivators who, due to their evil intentions, imitate the growth of demons and engage in cultivation by absorbing that evil, thus gaining power and time. This method is extremely unstable and can easily lead one to be blinded by power, turning into someone who only knows how to do evil. Such individuals are called demons, and this method of cultivation is referred to as the Demonic Path. Later, the Demonic Cultivator Luo Tian unified the Demonic Path, establishing it as a belief system for demons, which is what the cultivation world generally recognizes as demonic. 0

After hearing Ling Chanzi's words, Gu Ping felt a flush of embarrassment. The connection between demons and the Demonic Path was indeed apparent; the demon that Little Monk sought was likely the true manifestation of human hearts that he had just mentioned. 0

Before Gu Ping could respond, Ling Chanzi continued: The Demonic Path has already been eradicated because it easily leads to mental control and gives rise to true demons. Therefore, a thousand years ago, the Righteous and Demonic War initiated by the Beginning Path led to the complete decline of the Demonic Path, and now there are hardly any true Demonic Cultivators left. Our Light Path emerged during that Great War. 0

Oh, so the Light Path must have contributed significantly. Why is it now being besieged by the Five Great Sects? 0

Gu Ping mistakenly believed that the Daoist Sect claiming to be light had more influence than it actually did. In fact, none of the Daoist Sects had much influence; all their authority came from information provided by the Abyssal Guards. If a few thin sheets of paper could determine the standing of a Daoist Sect, it would surely lead to a biased conclusion. 0

The teachings of the Light Path conflict significantly with those of other Daoist Sects; they advocate for absolute equality while having taken an extreme stance. 0

An extreme stance. 0

Listening to this, Gu Ping murmured to himself. He had read the Light Path Classic and was aware of its teachings; however, calling it extreme might be an exaggeration. 0

They wish to grant everyone equality without hierarchy. But how can an emperor and a beggar truly be equal? If the Light Path seeks to make everyone equal, then there must be some hierarchy; not everyone can be an emperor. 0

Ling Chanzi said seriously regarding the matters of the Light Path, appearing to have a deep understanding of them. In reality, Gu Ping knew far too little. What Ling Chanzi spoke about were things that anyone in the cultivation world could easily find out; it was just that Gu Ping and Liu Lao Jiu had not come into contact with such knowledge. 0

Gu Ping frowned as a terrifying thought suddenly crossed his mind, leaving him momentarily stunned. He turned to Ling Chanzi and said, "You don't mean for everyone to become beggars, do you?" 0

Seeing Gu Ping's astonished expression, Ling Chanzi nodded slightly, a hint of seriousness in her demeanor. 0

Gu Ping was at a loss for words, shocked by the idea. How could there be such a person with such thoughts? Moreover, how could a sect that claimed to be of light have so many people who might think that way? What was Coco doing? Gu Ping couldn't help but wonder. 0

In reality, it wasn't as severe as I described. The Light Path simply seeks a world where there are common people without an emperor; it doesn't mean wanting everyone to become beggars, Ling Chanzi explained. 0

What I mean is that there should be no aristocracy, and everyone should coexist equally? 0

Gu Ping suddenly felt that his thoughts were a bit too radical, while Ling Chanzi's explanation was just right. 0

It's impossible for mortals and cultivators to be mixed together. Cultivators possess power that can change the very nature of the world; how could mortals ever compare? 0

Thus, for ordinary people, the Light Path is a savior, while for the aristocracy, it is an outright enemy. 0

Gu Ping felt a flush of realization. The reason the Light Path was isolated by the Daoist Sect was precisely this: no one would give up their hard-earned power, no one would relinquish their enviable status, and certainly no one would abandon the strength they had painstakingly cultivated. Therefore, the Light Path was destined to be an enemy to all levels of society and an enemy with whom there could be no compromise. What the Light Path sought was inevitably something unattainable, obstructed by the entire world. 0
