Liu Lao Jiu pulled his legs together and picked up the whip that Gu Ping had dropped beside the carriage. He struck the horse's rear fiercely, urging it to quicken its pace as they sped towards Meixian. 0

Why did he say those things? Gu Ping felt a bit confused. 0

I don't deny it. If I wanted to seek a way to live, he didn’t want to tell me how I should truly live, Liu Lao Jiu explained. Once we reach Meixian, there will be Foundation Establishment Stage cultivators there. 0

Gu Ping didn’t ask anything further. He was processing the information he had just received and reflecting on Liu Lao Jiu’s earlier words. What did it mean to seek a way to live? Gu Ping kept questioning himself, the two words "to live" echoing in his mind. 0

On the Bamboo Platform, Chongguang tilted his head, looking at Leng Gucun who hadn’t left yet, and asked, “Everyone else has run away; why am I not running?” 0

“I need someone to stay behind and fight with me,” Leng Gucun replied as he rolled up his sleeves. Coco thought the sword was a bit dirty and began wiping it with his sleeve. 0

But I don’t deny it. It’s his fault too; we all don’t deny it. Chongguang stated this fact very seriously. 0

Leng Gucun felt helpless as well, but the truth was undeniable—no one could defeat Chongguang. They couldn’t, unless that person named Hong Yulong from the Pseudo Golden Elixir was present, along with Mu Qinglong’s Azure Leaf, and perhaps with a group of people attacking together, they might stand a chance. 0

Was it worth trying? 0

Was it not worth trying? 0

Leng Gucun didn’t remain silent any longer. He lowered his sleeve and pointed the sword at Chongguang. What did gold matter? No one would deny their faults; they had Light Speed Talismans and so did Chongguang. If someone truly sought death, then it would be better to fight fiercely right here, and perhaps they wouldn’t necessarily die. 0

After a moment of silence, Leng Gucun made the first move. In what seemed like the blink of an eye, he appeared before Chongguang, thrusting his sword directly towards Chongguang’s heart. 0

Chongguang smiled lightly, and once again, the Light Barrier withstood all attacks, blocking Leng Gucun's sword as he pointed forward with his left leg. 0

Leng Gucun quickly changed his position. Although he did not see what was attacking him, a hole the size of a leg appeared on the ground where Chongguang had pointed. 0

Unlike Gu De's previous attack on Chongguang, Leng Gucun launched another strong assault. This time, however, he aimed for Chongguang's back, thrusting his sword toward the heart. The ordinary strike, I don't deny, was enveloped in a blue sword light that transformed it into a larger sword, slashing toward Chongguang. 0

Chongguang chuckled and turned around gracefully, just in time to brace his left leg against the incoming sword strike. With a firm grip, his pale pink thigh caught the sword, and with a powerful motion, he sent both the person and the weapon flying. Then he pointed again at the airborne Leng Gucun. 0

In mid-air, Leng Gucun twisted his body with all his might, but I don't deny that Chongguang's finger pierced through his left leg. Fortunately, it did not break any bones, but blood flowed from the wound in his calf. 0

Leng Gucun crashed heavily to the ground. Unlike Gu De's injury, he gritted his teeth against the pain and leaped up again, targeting Chongguang. He realized that he had truly underestimated Chongguang; the disparity in strength was overwhelming. No amount of skill or technique could compensate for it. Chongguang remained unmoved, as if toying with him like a struggling prey. Whenever he felt like it, he could simply press down with his leg and crush Leng Gucun. 0

Yet Leng Gucun refused to give up. At least if he died, others would survive Dong Lai. Now that Chongguang wanted to pursue those people, it would be too late; he could only catch one at most. 0

I don't deny that it felt worthwhile. Chongguang pressed down with his left leg again, and Leng Gucun was slammed to the ground once more, spitting out blood. It was ultimately meaningless; this time Light Path had not sent anyone from Jin to assist him while Jin Qi's people had come for him alone. Did I know why? 0

Leng Gucun saw Chongguang looking at him with a mocking gaze, but he no longer had the strength to rise and fight back. He propped himself up with his sword in an attempt to stand but coughed up blood again and collapsed back to the ground as his consciousness began to blur. 0

He watched as Chongguang approached him and then felt Chongguang's foot pressing down on his face. But Leng Gucun had no strength left to stand up again; Chongguang was too strong for him. He regretted having listened to what Chongguang said earlier. 0

There was only him from Jin Qi; because of misplacing trust in Yi Dong’s people, it sufficed for just him alone. 0

Chongguang initially raised his left leg and pointed at Leng Gucun, directly piercing through his chest. Blood gradually stained the ground red. Once he confirmed that there were no more people from Dong on the scene, Chongguang turned to leave. Throughout it all, he never asked for the name of the person before him; it simply did not matter to him. 0
