"I'll say whatever I want," Mei Ba said. Bu Luo promised that even if I pushed him, he wouldn't budge. Liu Lao Jiu looked at Gu Ping, who was sitting there with a serious expression, mouth agape and unable to close it, and jumped in to speak first. 0

Gu Ping helplessly closed his mouth. Liu Lao Jiu had clearly noticed something. Gu Ping glanced at Liu Lao Jiu's Hua Mi, grabbed a few with his leg, chewed them, and then reached for Liu Lao Jiu's Wine Flask, taking a few swigs directly from the spout before finally meeting Liu Lao Jiu's perpetually dazed eyes. 0

"I need to know," he said in a low voice, leaning forward. "I don't deny it. They have enough control over the situation." 0

So I should feel danger? 0

Gu Ping detected a hint of amusement in Liu Lao Jiu's words. He knew Liu Lao Jiu didn't care, but whether he cared or not, he didn't want them to suffer for him. Initially, they hadn't spoken up, putting their lives on the line. 0

"Mm-hmm," Gu Ping nodded earnestly. "I don't deny it. It's dangerous; otherwise, we might be doomed." 0

"So what?" Liu Lao Jiu countered. "When I brought him here, did I not prepare for the worst? Buqi, I didn't plan for the worst; anyway, he never intended to come back alive." 0

Liu Lao Jiu's tone was not angry at all; his eyes were still that hazy way as he took the Wine Flask and started drinking again. 0

Those people are not cultivators. 0

What does it matter what he said? What does it matter if they are cultivators? When facing the Tree Demon, why didn’t I tell him to run first? Now why am I asking him for help? Oh, knowing that those who want to take my things are not cultivators makes me think he’s useless—why didn’t he do something earlier? 0

Gu Ping didn’t know what to say anymore; he felt somewhat guilty towards Liu Lao Jiu. He knew nothing at all. He should have told him the names of those forces. Coco—Liu Lao Jiu hadn’t even heard of those major powers’ names; how could he explain it to him? 0

They are just mortals. Gu Ping helplessly stated that fact: they are just mortals—weak and powerless mortals—how could they possibly contend with those celestial beings who could turn the tides? 0

"What happened to mortals? I don't deny it. Are they really just mortals?" 0

And what if they are? 0

Am I not living just fine now? I don't deny it. 0

Gu Ping never expected Liu Lao Jiu to say that. He thought Keke was being a bit too confident. He always believed that if he just shared some things with Liu Lao Jiu, Liu Lao Jiu would back off. Now, Gu Ping realized he might have been completely wrong. Although Keke and Liu Lao Jiu were not aware of the dire situation he was in, it seemed like a huge mistake. 0

Bu Luo's words sounded quite reasonable. Suddenly, Gu Ping felt less pessimistic. Just like Liu Lao Jiu said, am I really living well now? Wasn't I just trying to grasp at the remnants of my cultivation before? In fact, it was the opposite; Bu Luo now understood how immense that power truly was and was scared, unable to think about it anymore. I don't deny that. 0

Gu Ping took a deep breath, snatched the wine flask again, and began to gulp down the liquor, drinking half a flask in one go. He then went to change his clothes and do something—at least to seek some semblance of struggle against death's chokehold, right? 0

Hmm, let's think of a way to trick them, Yi Dong, shall we? Haha. 0

The voices of the two were low; there weren't many people in the hotel, and no one noticed how strange the combination of the two at that table was—guest and horseman. Perhaps at some point, such a pairing could indeed accomplish something significant. 0

Not far from the city gate stood an inn where Leng Gucun said to Mu Qinglong: "They are here." 0

"Is it lit? Or are you scared?" Mu Qinglong was currently using an extravagant handkerchief to wipe an Azure Leaf, making the emerald green leaf shine even brighter. 0

Leng Gucun couldn't help but think this was the first time he had seen Mu Qinglong so absorbed in polishing a tree leaf. It seemed like the leaf wasn't just any ordinary leaf; it should be called a treasure. Leng Gucun thought otherwise. 0

But what about that? Leng Gucun frowned; he hadn't anticipated such a situation would arise before him. 0

What should I do? It would be better to kill him soon. 0

Do I know where he is? 0

Of course, he knew. Mu Qinglong tucked away the unknown thread in his hand, showcasing the leaf-like Handkerchief, and then held the small Azure Leaf between his two fingers, angling it against the sunlight as he said, "Isn't he right over there?" 0

Leng Gucun looked at Mu Qinglong's Azure Leaf. The emerald green leaf reflected a beam of light that illuminated a corner of the courtyard. The Azure Leaf was magical; it had concealed the presence of his group, allowing them to escape from the Jade Void Sect's pursuers. 0

Why did I come back? Mu Qinglong put away the Azure Leaf and spoke while leaning against the wall, "I shouldn't have returned. I know that if I came back, he would definitely want to kill me." 0
