Chapter 150: The Collapsed Rulai Divine Palm
It was evident that this time, the Paradise of Hatsune Miku and a nuclear strike were still worlds apart.
This was clearly not a large-scale, devastating attack, but rather a beam-like, targeted assault.
After the initial shockwave, the Sato Ryuseki version of Hatsune Miku transformed into a gigantic version of herself in mid-air, dancing and singing wildly. As this process continued, beams of light began to project into the sky.
From a distance, at that moment, the Water City, filled with glowing runes and magical formations, seemed to become a massive stage beneath Hatsune Miku's feet, with those beams of light acting as spotlights.
However, these "spotlights" were not directed at Hatsune Miku; they possessed real destructive power.
These beams were piercing through the entire world, like searing lines of fire landing on the enormous Dharma form nearby. The entire golden figure was illuminated to a fiery red hue, as if it could melt away at any moment, turning into a cascade of molten gold flowing down to the ground.
Yet Vikas's strength was clearly not limited to this; he used his massive Dharma form to withstand Hatsune Miku's attack. The hand gestures and incantations he chanted were relentless, and the brilliance he emitted grew ever brighter. Amidst Hatsune Miku's singing, there arose another sound—perhaps it was an illusion—gradually rising like a grand chant akin to morning bells and evening drums. It felt as if a thousand Buddhas were reciting scriptures in unison, creating an extremely stark contrast with the Paradise that Sato Ryuseki's version of Hatsune Miku was currently singing. The former was solemn in an instant, while the latter was lively and rhythmic.
Bai Luo stood amidst the chaos of Water City, looking up at this scene. Vikas's Buddhist chant was bearable, but the Paradise sung by Sato Ryuseki's version of Hatsune Miku resonated:
"When the bright moon rises,
Light up the red lanterns.
The signal for accompaniment rings out at the festival,
Tempting night butterflies dance gracefully.
Once entranced, one cannot withdraw,
Immediately head to Paradise."
Bai Luo felt that one head was better than two. He thought to himself, what is a Talisman compared to the ability to destroy the world with just a song? It was simply pathetic!
If I sing off-key, would the power increase tenfold?
No, I need to change the System; I want to change my abilities.
While Bai Luo was mentally complaining a thousand times, the battle in the sky continued. Hatsune Miku's attacks were relentless, clearly a form of sustained assault. As time passed, the power of her attacks grew stronger. The massive Buddha statue conjured by Vikas to withstand the onslaught was gradually being burned through, creating enormous holes. Yet, even damaged, the statue still exuded an unimaginable sense of grandeur and inviolability.
On the other side, Sato Ryuseki was still "singing and dancing." His attack mode evidently required this combination of song and dance to maintain its effectiveness, turning his voice into tangible strikes.
This ability had clearly reached a level akin to magic in the Marvel universe.
As the Buddha statue seemed on the verge of collapse and Hatsune Miku's song was only halfway through, Vikas appeared ready to counterattack. His arms began to move slowly in front of him. At that moment, his entire body was enveloped in a golden glow. As he moved his arms, the light surrounding him seemed almost alive, shifting in layers as if it had real "weight," making each of Vikas's movements increasingly difficult and slow.
Then, behind him, the already battered Buddha statue struck by Hatsune Miku's Paradise began to glow as well. Its previously clear form and facial contours gradually became ethereal until it transformed into pure light, countering the continuous barrage of beams in the air.
Under Bai Luo's gaze, Vikas slowly raised his hands toward the sky, palms facing upward. His expression was more solemn than ever, as if performing some sacred rite. The golden Buddhist light surrounding him accentuated his majesty and grandeur.
But then,
Bai Luo heard him shout "Rulai Divine Palm."
Indeed, it was Rulai Divine Palm.
Vikas opened his mouth, his voice booming like thunder resonating over Water City. Each word was pronounced with precision and clarity; most importantly, he shouted "Rulai Divine Palm" with utmost seriousness.
Not far away, aboard the Aircraft Carrier, Nick immediately grasped the true meaning of those four words. His expression changed slightly as he quickly ordered, "Investigate immediately what these four words represent."
The efficiency of S.H.I.E.L.D. was beyond doubt. In no time, someone responded—an ordinary intelligence officer, looking shocked, said to Nick, "Director, the Rulai Divine Palm, according to ancient records, should be a long-lost and incredibly powerful martial art."
Nick's expression darkened further as he muttered, "Do all the strong figures in the world have ties to China?"
Meanwhile, Vikas had already called out the name of the technique, clearly preparing to strike.
He raised his arm high, and amidst a brilliant glow, the layered and continuous beams of light suddenly ceased. The entire space around Water City dimmed abruptly—not just that; the whole Water City was bathed in a golden hue.
This was not due to anything else but because a massive hand slowly materialized in the air.
It was an enormous golden palm print that nearly covered half of Water City. From the ground, it blocked out the sun and exuded an astonishing presence. As soon as it appeared, it began to descend slowly, pressing down towards Sato Ryuseki.
On the ground, Bai Luo witnessed this scene and could almost confirm that Vikas was at least an A-rank. Just this display of power seemed significantly stronger than the previous B-Rank Daoist.
However, this was also Bai Luo's first encounter with the so-called Rulai Divine Palm. Although it looked incredibly impressive now, from his vantage point on the ground, he couldn't shake off the feeling that this move in Vikas's hands resembled nothing more than a gigantic slap.
