Chapter 142: Chaos of Battle
Tiger Lee had already activated his Bloodline, instantly transforming into a massive Dog-headed Man. Gripping a Battle Axe, he was surrounded by an unimaginable surge of dark energy. Each step he took resonated like thunder, and with a sweeping motion of his hand, the ground ignited.
The simple two-story apartment was suddenly engulfed in ghostly flames, burning fiercely in the eerie fire.
At that moment, Sato Ryuseki emerged from inside the building, adjusting his heavy glasses as he tilted his head to gaze at the colossal figure. He opened his mouth as if to say something, but perhaps due to his height, he figured that even if he spoke, the other party wouldn't hear him. So, he fell silent and called out behind him.
Loki followed closely behind him. Amidst the soul flames, he appeared unfazed, having changed into his signature green attire once again. With a pair of golden ram's horns atop his head and his pale skin paired with a devilish grin, he exuded an aura reminiscent of a trickster god.
However, judging by his expression, it was difficult to determine whether Thor's conversation with him two days prior had any effect. According to Nick Fury, Thor returned in a furious rage after speaking with his younger brother.
Meanwhile, on the side of the Buddha Light Team, Paitun remained inactive, hidden in a corner unseen by everyone, clearly waiting for the right moment.
In front of them, Tiger Lee seemed to dominate the battlefield entirely. He swung his Battle Axe like a mountain range, rumbling as he brought it down toward the front.
From a distance, his massive movements appeared somewhat slow; however, in reality, they were incredibly swift. This strike fell from the sky like thunder, carrying immense power. If this axe struck down, Sato Ryuseki, Loki, and the entire apartment would be cleaved apart.
This was the Soul Reaping Strike.
One of the most powerful techniques within the alliance, it showcased its formidable nature here.
If these two did not take any action, this battle could very well end with that single blow from Tiger Lee.
Loki reacted immediately, swiftly dodging out of the attack range of Nerathus' Battle Axe.
As for Sato Ryuseki, this bespectacled young man remained standing in place. He looked quite disheveled and seemed utterly incapable of evading such an attack.
So,
Would Sato Ryuseki really be so easily slain by Tiger Lee?
Just as the massive axe in Tiger Lee's hands was about to fall, a green shadow suddenly rose in the arena.
It was a girl with green hair and twin ponytails, appearing like an elf behind Sato Ryuseki. She raised her hand, and a hazy green light emerged. This light seemed light and powerless, yet it firmly blocked the descending Battle Axe, nullifying the threat posed by Tiger Lee's powerful strike.
That green figure was none other than Hatsune Miku.
However, unlike the giant version of Hatsune that had sung the Shooting Onion Song in the Nishiden River District, this Hatsune Miku floating slightly behind Sato Ryuseki was of normal human size, and she did not sing. Her features appeared somewhat blank, her eyes hollow, resembling a ghost or a puppet.
In the distance, Bai Luo was observing this scene through the secret surveillance equipment set up by the Shield Agency around the area. At this moment, the real battle had not yet erupted; these early-installed electronic monitoring devices still had their use. Once a real fight broke out, it would be difficult for Bai Luo to keep an eye on things from afar.
But as he watched this unexpected appearance of Hatsune Miku, he couldn't help but think, "No wonder you gave me the music box; you have another one here!"
However, looking at the expressionless and vacant-eyed Hatsune Miku on screen, it was clear that she was not the real Hatsune Miku.
Summoning Hatsune seemed to be a rather high-level exchange item with the Main God. Given the senior level of these Japanese characters appearing in the Avengers storyline, it seemed insufficient.
Yet as Bai Luo pondered this, he quickly thought of another question.
Was it possible that Sato Ryuseki himself was not strong at all and that he had merely been elevated to the position of Reincarnator team leader due to possessing various exchange items related to Hatsune Miku?
At this thought, Bai Luo couldn't help but feel a bit frustrated.
But then, changes began to unfold in the arena.
Sato Ryuseki proved with his strength that he was not weak.
Or perhaps he proved this point with the Hatsune Miku behind him.
After Hatsune Miku neutralized Tiger Lee's Battle Axe, Tiger Lee became vigilant. If it had been before, seeing such a disheveled Reincarnator summon a weak-looking twin-tailed girl would have made him dismissive. However, after the previous battle in the Nishiden River District, he had a deep impression of Hatsune Miku, so he immediately became alert.
Meanwhile, across from him, Hatsune Miku was not idle after her appearance. Although her expression was blank and her gaze vacant, resembling a bewildered puppet that had stepped out of an electronic world, her movements were quite nimble. She was in the midst of a floating magic circle, and her lips were slightly moving as if she were softly singing something.
At that moment, Tiger Lee's attack came rushing in once again.
This time, Tiger Lee attacked with both barrels; he summoned a massive soul flame magic circle on the ground while swinging his Battle Axe down with thunderous force.
But at that very moment, the magic circle drawn by Hatsune Miku completed in mid-air and struck down towards the ground. With a loud crash, the soul flames summoned by Tiger Lee were instantly extinguished, and an inverted bowl-shaped protective layer appeared, enveloping the still calm Sato Ryuseki. Following this, a shockwave spread out with the emergence of this magic circle, directly collapsing the ordinary Japanese apartment building behind them that had long been scorched by soul flames.
Amidst the loud noise and swirling dust, the faintly glowing magic circle below was revealed.
In the distance, Bai Luo watched this scene unfold and couldn't help but mutter, "Things are getting weirder! Where's the Supreme Sorcerer! Shouldn't they be here by now?"
