Chapter Eighty-Seven
In the dimly lit corridor, with blood-stained walls and flickering lights, Steve Rogers moved cautiously, his shield in hand, alert to any potential dangers.
At the same time, he was drawn toward the sound of soft sobbing coming from a short distance away.
The voice was becoming clearer.
As Captain America rounded a corner of the hallway, he spotted a restroom.
The sound was indeed emanating from there.
Captain America noted carefully that it was a women's restroom.
But in a place like this, such details hardly mattered. He stood outside the door and called out slightly; the crying inside abruptly ceased, replaced by a terrifying low growl from an unknown creature.
Seeing this, Captain America wasted no time and burst through the door. Inside, he found a grotesque creature, its body twisted in the most repulsive manner.
However, such a thing posed no real threat to Captain America beyond its disgusting appearance.
He immediately engaged in a fierce battle with the creature using his shield, successfully defeating it before beginning to search each stall for the girl who had been crying moments before.
And indeed, he found her.
In the last stall of the women's restroom sat a girl in a dirty dress. She seemed completely unaware of what had happened outside, lost in her own world. In a trembling voice, she murmured to herself, "Mommy and Daddy are gone. Bai Luo is only two years old. What should I do? What should I do... I'm so scared, I'm so scared..."
The sound of the door being pushed open startled her, and she raised her head slightly, looking timidly at the figure before her—Steve.
When Steve clearly saw the girl's face, he was momentarily taken aback and exclaimed, "Bai Chu?"
Indeed, the girl in front of him was unmistakably a childlike version of Bai Chu, with striking similarities in her features.
As mentioned earlier, Steve had done his homework before coming here, so he knew what Bai Chu looked like. However, he never expected to see a younger version of her in this place.
She appeared utterly helpless, looking lost and confused as she stared blankly at Steve.

At the same time, in a hospital room, a loud crash echoed.
"Bai Luo shouted, "Get back! Get back!"
He held a flashlight in one hand and gripped a Yellow Paper Talisman known as Palm Thunder in the other. When he heard a somewhat timid female voice from across the wall, he instinctively pushed it forward.
Immediately, the wall in front of them collapsed under the force of Palm Thunder. In the swirling dust and smoke, two independent hospital rooms transformed into a chaotic open space.
The beam of the flashlight illuminated a dazed face in the corner—a beautiful Western woman.
Her appearance resembled that of Alyssa, the classic heroine from Silent Ridge, and she looked particularly adorable in her harmless state.
Just a few minutes earlier, this girl had initiated a conversation with Bai Luo. After spending some time figuring out who she was, Bai Luo had rejected her attempt to communicate through the wall to confront their extreme fear of the dark confinement and terrifying hospital. Instead, he had chosen to bring down the wall entirely.
Alyssa stammered, "You... you..."
Bai Luo chuckled, shining the flashlight around as he tucked the eight thumbs he held into his pockets. "Don't be afraid, miss. I am a communist fighter, and outside there’s a capitalist fighter. Trust me, with the two of us here, all the problems in this place are nothing to worry about."
With that, Bai Luo pulled out a piece of paper talisman from his pocket and began sticking it around the room.
However, Alyssa showed no signs of relief; instead, she appeared extremely frightened, shrinking back into the corner of the room. "Are you... are you sent by them to kill me?"
"I assure you, I am a great communist fighter. When I was your age, I was already a Young Pioneer, well-versed in the Eight Honors and Eight Shames, clear on one theory, one thought, and three representatives." Bai Luo rambled on without any coherence. After finishing his preparations around the room, he sat cross-legged in front of her with a smile on his face. "So, I came here just to find out one thing. About ten years ago, someone named Bai Chu came here—she's an Easterner. Although we don't look much alike, she's my sister. She went missing here, and I don't know if she was taken away by someone or trapped in Silent Ridge. But now, I want to find her; at least I want to know where she is."
Alyssa looked at Bai Luo with fear in her eyes. "Big brother, I don’t know what you’re talking about..."
"The soundproofing here is excellent. As I walked through earlier, it was clear that many rooms had things inside them but made no noise at all. Yet you could hear me being locked up, and when I blew up the wall just now, I specifically noticed that wall was at least a meter thick."
Alyssa stared blankly at Bai Luo, her expression one of sheer confusion and fear.
Bai Luo smiled again and said, "Of course, that's not all that matters. The key point is that I know of your existence. And within Silent Ridge, 'Alyssa' is a multiple personality entity—there's the kind Alyssa, the dark Alyssa, and the original Alyssa... but one thing is certain: none of these three Alysas possess the character of a normal girl.
"In other words, if you truly are one of these three Alysas, then you're currently pretending; if you're not Alyssa at all, then you're also pretending."
In front of Bai Luo, Alyssa's expression finally changed. The dazed look on her face gradually faded into a sort of silent contemplation.
But this girl was indeed beautiful; even with such an expression, she looked stunning.
Bai Luo said softly, "I just want to know where my sister is."
At that moment, Sadako emerged from Bai Luo's body, coalescing into a figure behind him. With disheveled hair and a pale face, she coldly gazed at Alyssa in front of her.
Simultaneously, Mizumura Memeko appeared, squatting beside Bai Luo and casting a wicked smile at Alyssa.
In the hospital room, the talismans that Bai Luo had just affixed began to glow one by one.
Some of them were simple Fire Attribute Talismans, while others were talismans that Bai Luo had temporarily exchanged from the System to ward off evil spirits. At this moment, under Bai Luo's urging, these talismans lit up, illuminating the dark hospital room as if it were ablaze with light.
Alyssa quietly observed this scene before her, a wicked smile slowly curling at the corners of her mouth. "Bai Chu, I've seen her before."
"And I've seen you too."
As she spoke these ambiguous words, before Bai Luo could ponder their meaning, the space he stood in underwent a tremendous transformation once again. The dark hospital room and the layers of talisman light vanished in an instant, replaced by a cold corridor of the "Inner World."
