Chapter Eighty: Here I Come, Hulk! 0

It was an old, yellowed book, yet it cost twenty thousand points. 0

Bai Luo felt a bit of pain in his heart when he exchanged for it. 0

On top of that, he spent another two thousand points to redeem a comprehensive guide to talisman drawing. 0

Back during the Battle of New York, Bai Luo had set his sights on this item. In the fast-paced chaos of battle, the ability to draw talismans out of thin air was indeed a remarkable skill—extremely useful. Moreover, this method was not overly expensive and was definitely suitable. Of course, this method of drawing talismans had its drawbacks; it lacked a medium, the talismans were prone to errors, and they were unstable and likely to collapse. 0

Naturally, this was also a book that required study. It recorded methods and techniques that Bai Luo needed to learn in order to apply them to various talismans. 0

Teaching someone how to fish is better than giving them fish. 0

What Bai Luo wanted was the method for catching fish, not ready-made fish. 0

After redeeming these two items, Bai Luo was left with only three thousand points. 0

He thought for a moment and then exchanged for three Item Storage Talismans to replace the one he had used until it was worn out. He also spent five hundred points on a healing talisman to aid in the recovery of his arm's injury. 0

From then on, Bai Luo's days were immersed in endless learning and talisman drawing. 0

Lorna had long since become accustomed to this. Of course, she had also been coming less frequently to see Bai Luo lately; she probably grew tired of him. The nurses who cleaned up Bai Luo's hospital room were the ones who truly suffered. She even knew about Bai Luo's identity. Initially, she admired him as the great hero who saved New York, but when she discovered that Bai Luo left the entire room littered with scraps of paper and blood from unknown creatures, her gaze toward him turned resentful. 0

But she still didn't dare to say anything—after all, he was a superhero who had saved New York City, had a military background, and was a friend of the wealthy Iron Man, Tony Stark. 0

So, about half a month later, every time the nurse came in, she wore an expression that seemed on the verge of tears. 0

Bai Luo, on the other hand, was making rapid progress. Back in college, he had struggled with the Level Four exams and failed repeatedly, not knowing what studying really was. But now... his motivation was soaring. 0

His lazy spirit seemed to have been successfully suppressed by the spirit of Talisman, and he was growing rapidly. Over the past twenty years, he had thoroughly studied the more than twenty Five Elements Talismans from that book. Of course, this might also be related to the simplicity of the low-level Talisman illustrations. 0

However, drawing symbols out of thin air posed some difficulty for Bai Luo. 0

Nevertheless, Bai Luo's injuries were healing remarkably fast. With rest and Talisman treatment, he was recovering very well. 0

Sadako and Mizumura Memeko had also recovered from their previous injuries. Mizumura Memeko even took credit for her actions in killing a Hydra agent and recounted the story to Bai Luo. 0

Mizumura Memeko actually had no idea what Hydra was; her exact words were: "That guy looked like he wasn't a good person at all. His will was very weak, so I just invaded his brain and found out his secrets..." 0

Bai Luo: "..." 0

Bai Luo's days were relatively peaceful. Once Mizumura Memeko woke up, he took advantage of her abilities to call Abomination, who had been missing for quite some time. 0

Abomination clearly had been waiting for Bai Luo's call; it connected almost immediately. His dark and hoarse voice came through: "Bai Luo?" 0

"Well, well, it's been a long time, Mr. Emil Blonsky." 0

Abomination replied, "I thought you had forgotten about me—you're quite famous now." 0

"How is that possible? I want to form an alliance where everyone is important," Bai Luo said, holding a cup of tea from his room as he stood up and walked to the window of his seventeenth-floor room. He looked down and continued, "Of course, the premise is that everyone in the alliance is genuinely committed to serving it." 0

"What do you want me to do?" Abomination asked. 0

"Have you heard of Hydra?" 0

"Cut off one head, two more grow back." 0

Bai Luo smiled and said, "Recently, they sent me a gift. In our Eastern culture, we have a saying about reciprocity—so I want to return the favor." 0

The gift from Hydra that Bai Luo referred to was, of course, the probe from Pierce and the assassin who was killed on the spot by Mizumura Memeko. 0

Abomination seemed somewhat confused by Bai Luo's intentions. He said in a deep voice, "What do you mean?" 0

Bai Luo explained, "On the night of the recent battle in New York City, one of the defeated group had some sort of agreement with Hydra before dying, but Hydra breached it—I want to find out what that agreement was and what John Schmidt is up to." 0

After pondering for a moment, Abomination replied, "If I help you investigate this, what do I get in return?" 0

"You'll have a place to go." Bai Luo understood that Abomination's large size made him easily identifiable. He had previously appeared in New York City; although it was the Reincarnators who drew attention that night, Nick Fury is not someone to be overlooked. Since Abomination caught his eye, he must have been under thorough investigation across America. The fact that Abomination answered Bai Luo's call immediately confirmed that things were not going well for him. At this moment, what mattered most to Abomination was a stable place to live. 0

However, Abomination seemed somewhat surprised. "You want me to join Hydra?" 0

In response, Bai Luo simply chuckled three times before hanging up the phone. 0

On the other end, Abomination squeezed the phone in his massive hand, his expression shifting between uncertainty and contemplation. 0

He realized for the first time that those seemingly amiable Easterners possessed not only terrifying power. 0

At the same moment, standing by the window and just putting away his phone, Bai Luo gazed down at the world below, a mysterious smile creeping across his face. He had a preliminary idea regarding Hydra and Abomination. As he pondered, he slowly raised his glass to take a sip of water, but in the next moment, he spat it all out. 0

Through the window, he saw a massive green creature suddenly leap out from an unknown floor of the hospital. Accompanied by a thunderous roar, it crashed down onto the ground at the hospital entrance like a cannonball, then took off running, causing people at the entrance to scatter in panic. 0

Bai Luo stared in disbelief at this scene. 0

However, he quickly tossed aside his glass, shattering the window before jumping out after it. He felt the fierce wind howling down from the seventeenth floor and, empowered by Iron Body and various talismans, he followed Hulk to the ground like a comet. 0

Bai Luo stood upright on the ground, feeling countless scorching gazes from passersby as he set off to chase after Hulk. 0

As for what he had promised Nick about not recklessly revealing his identity… did that even matter now? 0

Meanwhile, the nurse who rushed in upon hearing the loud crash looked at the shards of glass scattered everywhere and felt the wild wind blowing in, her expression one of despair. 0
