Chapter Sixty-One: The Ominous Sister
The moment Natasha's voice was heard, Lao Wan instinctively stood up, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.
Bai Luo quickly said, "If you dare to make a move here, don't even think about pulling me into this."
Magneto reacted swiftly, stating, "Join us, or I will take action today. You won't be able to stay in S.H.I.E.L.D. either."
Bai Luo was not someone to be trifled with. He immediately replied, "I don't need iron to deal with you. If you dare to act here, I can send you back to the Plastic Glass Prison, making you live like a Planet Daily feature."
The tension between Magneto and Bai Luo was palpable as their gazes locked in a standoff.
At that moment, Raven casually chimed in, "Eric, Bai really does have that capability."
Magneto shot a glare at Mystique.
Just then, Natasha's voice came from outside the door, "Mr. Bai? Is there someone in your room?"
Bai Luo replied, "You all need to leave now, through the window."
After a moment of thought, Magneto said, "I can leave, but she stays."
With that, Lao Wan pointed directly at his daughter.
Lorna exclaimed in surprise, "What?"
Bai Luo didn't pay much attention to Magneto's words—he could sense a strong hint of submission in Lao Wan's tone, even a touch of pity.
He glanced at Lorna's pale, beautiful face, then at Lao Wan. Out of sympathy for the elderly comrade, he made an unwise decision: "Alright."
Lorna exclaimed, "What! What does this even mean? How can you just agree like that? What strategic significance is there in leaving me here?"
Meanwhile, Mizumura Memeko within Bai Luo's body made another untimely remark: "Is it because Sister Lorna reminds you of thrilling and seductive images that you agreed to this old man?"
Magneto nodded slightly and said, "Lorna, keep an eye on him. Well then, Bai, we will meet again."
With that, Magneto took Raven and used his powers to soar out of the hotel room, stepping on metal fragments as he flew away.
Bai Luo glanced back but was met with Lorna's fiery gaze.
Sister Lorna perfectly embodied what it meant to have a murderous look in her eyes, and the various metal objects in the room trembled slightly with her unstable emotions.
But Bai Luo knew that Lorna wasn't someone without restraint. He only looked at her for a moment and smiled, "My fiancée's sister, don't be angry. Let's discuss any issues calmly."
This remark did not help; once it was out, Lorna's expression turned even more hostile.
However, Bai Luo could no longer concern himself with Sister Lorna because Natasha was already banging on the door outside.
Though the Black Widow had a beautiful face, her personality and methods were quite masculine—after all, she was a former spy who had undergone inhumane training.
Bai Luo rushed to the door and flung it open, only to find Natasha standing outside.
The girl held a gun in her hand and bypassed Bai Luo, charging into the house with a speed that Bai Luo could hardly have imagined, quickly searching the entire place.
Only after she finished did she stop, glancing at Lorna before turning to Bai Luo and saying, "I thought something was wrong since you took so long to open the door. This must be Ms. Dane, right?"
Lorna crossed her arms, coldly staring at both Bai Luo and Natasha, clearly unwilling to speak.
Natasha had no intention of getting any answers from Lorna; she turned directly to Bai Luo and said, "I don't think Lorna's presence here is a coincidence—about a week ago, Magneto, who had escaped from prison for nearly half a month, attacked Professor Charles' School for Gifted Youngsters and took his daughter."
At this point, Natasha was almost admitting that she was here because of Magneto.
In response to Natasha's words, Bai Luo merely shrugged and smiled. "My father-in-law sent my fiancée over; that should be quite normal and reasonable, right?"
Natasha considered many possible responses from Bai Luo. She had indeed been tracking the escaped Magneto and knew that Lorna was his child. She was certain that Magneto had just been here, and she even knew that Bai Luo had had a brief interaction with Magneto twenty years ago. However, she was unaware of the engagement and never expected Bai Luo to say something like that.
Moreover, by saying this, Bai Luo effectively acknowledged that Magneto had indeed been here. Of course, with Lorna present, denying it would serve no purpose—though he also had no need to deny it.
Natasha's eyes widened in surprise as she hurriedly turned to Lorna behind her.
Lorna replied, "That was his sordid deal with Eric; it has nothing to do with me. Eric has no daughter, and I am not that bastard's fiancée."
Natasha really wanted to ask what kind of story lay behind all this.
But she looked at Lorna, then at Bai Luo, and ultimately decided that the mission came first. So she asked, "When did Magneto arrive? Did he come through the window? He..."
"He came to recruit me to join him in establishing a world ruled by mutants and people like me with special abilities. But I think he realized he couldn't exercise the right of the first night over me, so I refused him. Then he left his daughter behind and walked away," Bai Luo said candidly, providing Natasha with all the information she wanted to know but hadn't had the chance to ask. "As for where he went, I'm not quite sure. Our conversation wasn't very pleasant, but I guess he'll come looking for me again. After all, he wouldn't just hand over his daughter to me so easily."
Bai Luo paused slightly, looking at Lorna. "Although he's not a good father, he is willing to take responsibility for you. Besides, he probably figured out that I won't do anything to you for now. After all, when we're both undressed, your combat ability far exceeds mine. Until this issue is resolved, you're absolutely safe."
Lorna was stunned—this was all so confusing.
Natasha, however, was completely bewildered. Bai Luo's words were quite impactful; her meticulous thoughts were thrown into disarray, filled with confusion.
Bai Luo didn't continue down that path—not because he ran out of things to say, but because he suddenly felt a chill run down his back. Sadako's voice echoed in his ears, but for some reason, it was no longer the gentle tone from the dance floor; instead, it had taken on a somewhat ominous quality: "If you want her to still not be your opponent after she's undressed, I can help you."
As soon as Sadako finished speaking, Mizumura Memeko's voice chimed in once more at an inopportune moment: "Lolo, even though Sister Sadako says that, I have to remind you that if you really let Sister Sadako do such things, you might end up becoming like us."
