Chapter Thirty-Three: Reaching into the Abyss 0

Sadako transformed into a black sphere, and when Bai Luo first laid eyes on it, he thought he was staring into a pitch-black ancient well. 0

Around Sadako, the space was slightly distorted, tearing apart everything around her—flesh and blood, the cabin walls, the seats, and so on. 0

Bai Luo's expression changed. 0

He exclaimed, "What is happening?" 0

Mizumura Memeko replied, "I'm not sure either. She seems to have entered a state of self-isolation... Perhaps she was severely injured during her recent encounter with that human." 0

The psychic storm created by Sadako was expanding, gradually tearing the entire airplane apart. At that moment, a deafening roar erupted from the center of the aircraft, accompanied by a terrifying creaking sound as it began to crack. 0

Bai Luo said, "The key point is, how can we help Sadako out of this situation?!" 0

Sadako's current state resembled a black hole; at its center was an incredibly dark circular void resembling a well, and surrounding it was a frenzied psychic storm rapidly shredding the entire plane. 0

Mizumura Memeko appeared bewildered. For a vengeful spirit, confusion was certainly an unusual state; however, for an amnesiac and naive ghost girl, it was quite normal. 0

The attack range of Sadako's psychic storm was spreading. Bai Luo was slowly retreating while Mizumura Memeko, after being dazed for a moment, finally regained her composure. She said, "You could try pulling her out." 0

Bai Luo asked, "You mean I should walk into that black hole and pull Sadako out?" 0

Mizumura Memeko replied, "In theory... Although the situation looks complicated right now, perhaps pulling Sister Sadako out will work." 0

Clearly, the current situation did not allow Bai Luo to hesitate any longer; he couldn't abandon Sadako. While Sadako's unleashed power was formidable, Bai Luo's physical advantages and strength were not insurmountable. Moreover, he had the advantage of his agile physique. 0

This was the only way forward—whether or not it was the best option, it was something Bai Luo had to attempt. 0

Taking a deep breath, Bai Luo stepped forward and charged ahead. 0

Despite the terrifying nature of Sadako's current state, Bai Luo's approach went without incident. He effortlessly traversed through the chaos and stood directly before the black hole at the center of the storm. He reached out his hand... 0

He reached his hand into the hole, but what happened next spiraled out of control. 0

Bai Luo couldn't pull Sadako out; he didn't even touch her hand. The moment he plunged his hand into the black void, he felt an overwhelming gravitational pull. His vision darkened, and it seemed as if he was being drawn into it entirely. 0

The sounds around him—the rush of air, Mizumura Memeko's scream, the aircraft's strained groans, and the desperate wails of humanity—faded away from Bai Luo like a dream. 0

Before him lay an eternal, silent darkness. 0

There was no sign of Sadako, no strange noises. Bai Luo called out to the System twice, but there was no response. Of course, he had never expected much from the System; its configuration was terrible, so a lack of reaction was to be expected. 0

This darkness did not last long, for soon the absolute blackness in Bai Luo's eyes began to change. 0

From within the darkness came a low, sobbing sound—a girl's cry. 0

The world gradually brightened. 0

It was a dim afternoon, the sky shrouded in dark clouds. Scattered rays of light were fragmented by the overlapping trees outside, making the room even darker and instilling a sense of oppression in anyone within this environment. 0

In this room were two girls. 0

They looked identical, as if crafted from the same mold—dolls dressed in white dresses that contrasted with the gray world around them. Yet their attire did not convey much sunlight or brightness; instead, it exuded an inexplicable sense of suffocation. 0

They were crouched beside the corpse of a woman dressed in white. One girl had a sorrowful expression and was quietly sobbing; the sound Bai Luo heard came from her. The other girl stared blankly at the woman's body on the ground as if she were looking at a stranger. 0

Bai Luo's perception gradually became clearer. 0

He finally realized that this might be Sadako's "memory." 0

During Sadako's recent confrontation with that Reincarnator, her spirit had been severely damaged, allowing her to regain her memories. The black void and mental storm were her self-protective mechanisms against the overwhelming influx of memories. When Bai Luo reached in, he could not pull Sadako out; he could only become trapped within her "memories." 0

At this moment, what he witnessed was the scene of Sadako's mother’s death. 0

This was clearly part of the movie version of Sadako's story: Sadako split into two—one representing good and the other evil—corresponding to the major Sadako and Sadako in the film. Both possessed extraordinary powers, yet the former harbored goodwill and was no different from ordinary people; while the latter reveled in murder and malevolence. 0

It seemed that Sadako's amnesia did not mean she had completely lost her memories; rather, they had been buried deep within her. Now stimulated, they spontaneously resurfaced. 0

Bai Luo wanted to speak and say something to Sadako, but he realized that not only could he not utter a word, but his vision seemed to be locked in place, fixed at a single angle. Moreover, the two Sadakos in the room could not see him. 0

In other words, even if Bai Luo wanted to do something now, it was impossible. 0

He couldn't even reach his troublesome System and could only observe... watching Sadako's memories and life unfold. 0

Soon, a man rushed in from outside. He also seemed unable to see the standing Bai Luo and pulled the two girls out of the room. 0

Bai Luo's perspective was forced to move along with them. He found that he was following the Kind Sadako as they walked into the dimly lit living room outside, watching the man go back to deal with Sadako's mother's corpse. 0

Sadako was in a terrible state, crouching on the ground and crying silently, while the Evil Sadako remained expressionless, her gaze lifeless as she scanned the room. She lingered for a moment longer at Bai Luo's position, as if she sensed his presence. 0

Bai Luo felt anxious. In a sense, he was trapped in Sadako's memories. The plane he was on was currently in the process of crashing. If Sadako's memories did not synchronize with the outside world, it would be fine; but if they did... then wasn't he on the path to crashing right now? 0
