Chapter 32: The Sudden Change of the Second Moment
The entire airplane tilted, machinery malfunctioned, and most humans were struck by a mental blow; this aircraft could fall from the sky at any moment.
Yet the intensity of the psychic energy erupting in the cabin continued to rise sharply. The Reincarnator's psychic power was astonishingly strong, causing the plane to crack open inch by inch, with mechanical equipment bursting into dense sparks.
Even Shan Village Sadako let out an astonishing wail at that moment.
That was the cry of a Vengeful Spirit, piercing through eardrums.
Bai Luo gritted his teeth and slowly rose from his seat. The Iron Body Talisman provided him with comprehensive enhancements; although his brain felt nearly shattered, he could still see clearly and confirm where his opponent was.
The opponent's abilities could not be all-encompassing. Since this person possessed such powerful psychic abilities, close combat might be their weak point. Otherwise, if this individual were truly that strong, they would have already made a move. After all, a Reincarnator is still a Reincarnator; they had previously been ordinary people, and all their power stemmed from point exchanges, which were limited. For a team of this general level, a D-Level Reincarnator, it was nearly impossible to exchange for an all-around multifunctional item.
Therefore, this person must have a shortcoming!
The attack came from the mental realm, and the Talisman granted Bai Luo sufficient physical strength to withstand such psychic assaults and even step closer to his opponent.
Meanwhile, the Reincarnator had entered a "standoff" state against Sadako.
Sadako's wail grew increasingly mournful, her psychic energy expanding as if it were tangible, causing cracks to form in the surrounding airplane walls.
However, Shan Village Sadako seemed to be in an unusual state. She stood facing the Reincarnator, clutching her head; her translucent form flickered in the brightly lit cabin as if trapped in some terrible condition.
From the moment the Reincarnator and Sadako began their confrontation until now, only an instant had passed. It was merely that the impact on the human brain had infinitely magnified this brief period.
But then, change occurred.
Sadako's wail suddenly turned into a scream; the sound lost its heart-wrenching intensity and instead took on a tone of fragility and helplessness.
Accompanying this scream was an invisible "storm." In an instant, Sadako and the Reincarnator were blasted away, crashing into the rear of the cabin. At that moment, the cabin itself was torn apart by an unseen force, horrific cracks spreading across it like spider webs. With a massive difference in internal and external air pressure, air rushed out of the cabin in an instant, further exacerbating the aircraft's destruction.
Yet in that moment of "relaxation" between the ghost and the Reincarnator's psychic struggle, Bai Luo seized the opportunity to dart out like lightning.
Sadako transformed into a black sphere and brushed past Bai Luo while the Reincarnator crashed violently into one of the seats beside him.
Bai Luo, empowered by the Talisman, appeared before him in an instant.
However, as Bai Luo's fist came crashing down like lightning, he felt his punch strike against an invisible barrier, as solid as steel.
The Reincarnator stared intently at the person before him, channeling his mental energy to intercept Bai Luo's punch. In the next moment, a powerful surge of mental force shot like lightning into Bai Luo's brain.
It felt as if someone had invaded his mind; Bai Luo's head throbbed painfully, and after the thunderous pain subsided, he felt a wave of dizziness wash over him.
Bai Luo sensed his consciousness fading, as if he were floating away. His brain's self-defense mechanism was attempting to push him into unconsciousness.
At that same moment, the Reincarnator seized the opportunity to lunge forward. With a flick of his wrist, he drew a Tactical Dagger from his wristwatch and lunged at Bai Luo's neck without even looking.
But what the Reincarnator never anticipated was that this strike would not result in a spray of blood; instead, it produced a sound of metal clashing, and even his hand holding the dagger tingled with numbness.
After all, Bai Luo was protected by the Talisman. This was just an ordinary Tactical Dagger—could it really pierce through Bai Luo's body?
As the Reincarnator stood there in shock, Bai Luo gritted his teeth and raised his hand.
His body was gradually bending under the immense pressure of mental energy, yet he slowly lifted his hand and firmly grasped the Reincarnator's hand that held the dagger, gradually turning the blade toward the Reincarnator's own neck.
The Reincarnator's face turned pale; he could hardly believe that this person still possessed such strength under his mental pressure. His eyes turned blood-red as he unleashed a surge of mental force against Bai Luo. In an instant, deep gashes appeared on Bai Luo’s body due to the overwhelming power.
Bai Luo’s complexion changed drastically; he was on the verge of losing consciousness but gritted his teeth and held on with sheer willpower. He tightened his grip on the Reincarnator’s hand and drove the dagger into the Reincarnator’s heart.
The Reincarnator wore an expression of disbelief until his last breath. To him, tearing apart this brat’s body should have been effortless with all his might. Yet, the opponent’s body felt harder than steel. In that final moment of desperation, disbelief filled his face as he gasped out, “Who… exactly are you?”
That was the last thing the Reincarnator would ever say.
As he died, a System notification chimed in.
“Dear host, you have just killed a B-Class Reincarnator from another dimension.”
“Kill reward: 500 points.”
“You have received 20 Old White Rabbit Milk Candies.”
To Bai Luo, this System notification sounded as if it came from another world. The plane shook violently; although the Reincarnator’s mental force had receded like a tide, its lingering effects still affected Bai Luo.
The long period of mental piercing was not something one could recover from in an instant, and the plane continued to plummet. In the middle section of the aircraft, it even began to disintegrate in a circular fashion—this plane was on the brink of breaking apart.
At this moment, no one cared about the swaying child anymore.
Meanwhile, Mizumura Memeko was screaming into Bai Luo's ear, "Bai Luo! Bai Luo!"
Each scream was so piercing to Bai Luo at that moment, yet it gradually brought him back to awareness.
Mizumura Memeko shouted, "Bai Luo... Sister Sadako..."
Bai Luo lifted his head and looked in the direction of Sadako.
Sadako was transforming into a black hole.
