Chapter Twenty-One: A Bountiful Harvest
"Roar!!"
This was the furious roar of the Forgiving Color Reincarnator.
The second bolt of lightning was even more astonishing, its scale grander, but its speed was slightly slower.
However, the Reincarnator had already been severely struck by the first bolt, and although the second bolt was a bit slower, it was still unavoidable for him, striking him down on the spot.
The ground cracked beneath him.
At the same time, on the other side, Wolverine and his companions halted their battle, instinctively turning their gazes toward this direction.
Two bolts of lightning had transformed the area where the Forgiving Color Reincarnator stood into a massive pit.
In that very moment, a third bolt of lightning descended from the sky like a flash.
It was a dazzling brilliance, the most impressive of the three bolts, yet it moved at the slowest speed, leaving a long-lasting trail of light in Bai Luo's vision before suddenly striking the Reincarnator.
A thunderous roar shook the ground.
The pit where the Forgiving Color Reincarnator had been standing deepened by another inch. Bai Luo squinted slightly; with Mizumura Memeko's assistance, he once again levitated into the air and contemplated before swiftly approaching his opponent.
The power of the Teleportation Thunder Talisman was far greater than Bai Luo had imagined. In a sense, his strategic objectives had been almost completely achieved.
The Forgiveness Color's Reincarnator was hit hard, and the final bolt of lightning clearly had the potential to be evaded. Given the speed and abilities that the Reincarnator had previously displayed, dodging the last attack should have been no problem. Yet, it still struck him directly, indicating that the first two bolts of thunder had already inflicted significant damage.
Moreover, Bai Luo had successfully broken the connection between this guy and the Forgiveness Color's Green Ground Curse. The three bolts of thunder had created a massive pit in the ground, and the tainted, sickly green surface was completely obliterated.
If the Forgiving Color Reincarnator had been severely injured, now would undoubtedly be the best time for Bai Luo to deliver a finishing blow. Nevertheless, he approached cautiously, inching closer.
As the dust kicked up by the lightning began to settle, it revealed the form of the Forgiving Color Reincarnator.
His condition was dire; his sickly green skin was marred by numerous horrifying burn marks. The green ground beneath him had long since turned into scorched earth, and his body curled up at the bottom of the pit created by the lightning, emitting pitiful groans.
Was the power of that One Thousand Points Teleportation Thunder Talisman really this immense?
Bai Luo found it hard to believe.
But in reality, this was closely related to the abilities of that Reincarnator with sickly green skin.
Although the first bolt of lightning had come unexpectedly, it was not something that the Forgiving Color Reincarnator couldn't withstand.
However, this bolt had forcefully shattered the ground beneath him.
This meant that he had severed his connection with the tainted, sickly green earth he had corrupted.
His ability was a B-Rank, infinitely growing and powerful Bloodline, but it was still just a B-Rank. When enhanced by the green land, his strength surged at a geometric rate, but without that enhancement, his physical prowess was only slightly above that of an ordinary person. At best, he was a warrior with enhanced physical attributes, unable to even withstand bullets with his body.
Thus, when the second lightning bolt struck, this Forgiveness Color Ability User found himself in an awkward state of power disparity. He had the means to dodge but lacked the ability to successfully evade. As a result, the next two bolts of lightning severely injured him.
When Bai Luo saw him, he was struggling to crawl out of the crater created by the lightning strike and onto the patch of sickly green land.
He was laboriously moving, his blood-red eyes fixed on the approaching "child" not far away.
Bai Luo landed beside him, and there were still two bullets left in the handgun he had taken.
He pulled out the gun and smiled slightly.
At this point, the Reincarnator stopped crawling. He stared at Bai Luo and hissed, "Who are you? Are you also a Reincarnator?"
Bai Luo chuckled and raised the gun in his hand. "That doesn't matter. What matters is—this world is now my territory."
The dull sound of gunfire echoed.
A bloody hole erupted in the Reincarnator's forehead, and his body slumped lifelessly to the ground.
At that same moment, to Bai Luo's surprise, he received a System notification.
[Dear host, you have just killed a B-Class Reincarnator from another dimension.]
【Kill received a reward of 500 points.】
【Obtained Old White Rabbit Milk Candy thirty-eight pieces.】
Bai Luo was genuinely startled upon hearing this System notification.
He immediately thought about the System reward points mechanism—completing tasks issued by the System or Killing specific units would earn System points.
Kill Reincarnator... is that what the System refers to as a special unit?
This was an unexpected delight; 3,500 points was an incredibly generous reward from the System. Just a moment ago, Bai Luo had been set back to square one after redeeming the Teleportation Thunder Talisman, and now he felt like he had turned from a serf into a master.
B-Class Reincarnator, 3,500 points.
So... what about the remaining Reincarnators?
As Bai Luo stepped out of the massive crater created by the thunder strike, he noticed that with the death of that Forgiving Color Reincarnator, the grim green ground seemed to wither like some kind of plant. It dawned on him that this substance appeared to be some sort of virus, closely linked to the life of that Forgiveness Color Reincarnator. Once that Reincarnator died, these viruses naturally collapsed.
On the other side, the two other Reincarnators witnessing this scene changed color. They never expected their captain to just "drop dead" like that!
The werewolf and the Technological Ability User exchanged glances and instinctively turned to flee.
The Technological Ability User was equipped with a device resembling an Exoskeleton, and with its thrusters firing simultaneously, he shot up into the air in an instant, disappearing into the vast night sky.
The werewolf let out a long howl and turned its head, charging down the street in the opposite direction.
Logan, however, did not pursue. He had been forced to help Bai Luo confront these two individuals. He retracted his claws and stood upright, looking toward the other side where the brat Bai Luo was.
But Bai Luo had already shot out like an arrow.
He did not want to let these two Reincarnators escape.
The Forgiving Color Reincarnator only had a Reincarnator Wristwatch on them, nothing else.
Reincarnators always had missions to complete; they would not rest until their tasks were finished. Moreover, he had made it clear that he was at odds with this group of Ability Users. If he didn’t capture these Reincarnators now, later on, when they became more cautious and he was in the dark while they were in the light, it would be Bai Luo who would be at a disadvantage.
Furthermore, at this very moment, Bai Luo held three thousand five hundred points and had plenty of Multifunctional Reverse Talismans to exchange. He was determined to capture these two Reincarnators!
