As the guard casually pulled open the window, a faint creak mingled with the howling night wind, almost imperceptible. He leaned out, wearing a nonchalant expression, merely conducting a routine glance around. His eyes swept from left to right carelessly, seemingly eager to wrap up this tedious check. A strong, cold night breeze hit him squarely in the face, causing him to shrink his neck slightly and curse under his breath, unaware that a deadly threat was looming nearby. 0

At the moment he shifted his gaze to the right, a chilling sensation struck his temple. It was the cold steel temperature, merciless and unyielding, merging with the night wind's chill. The penetrating cold instantly tightened his spine, and his pupils dilated in sudden realization of danger; however, it was too late for him to react. 0

"Bang—" 0

Li Mu's finger gently pressed the trigger. The sharp gunshot sliced through the night like shattering ice crystals, quickly and steadily blending into the darkness. The bullet pierced through the guard's head with blinding speed and lethal force, exiting cleanly from the other side. In an instant, the guard's consciousness was stripped away; his vacant gaze lost focus as his pupils gradually dilated. The light of life extinguished in a heartbeat, leaving no chance for even a flicker of struggle. 0

His body quickly lost strength and slumped heavily against the window ledge, his head drooping lifelessly. Only half of him remained hanging on the window frame, revealing a hollow expression of death. Blood slowly seeped from the gap in his skull, trickling down along his brow bone, flowing over his lifeless eye sockets and pale cheeks. Drops fell one by one onto the ledge below, staining the damp wall red; blood streaks spread downwards along the surface like dark red flowers blooming in the cold night. 0

Li Mu swiftly retracted his firearm, casting a cold glance at another guard inside the room to ensure he hadn’t drawn attention. His movements were steady and silent, as if he were utterly familiar with this kind of silent killing; even his expression remained unchanged. This precise assassination unfolded in his hands with calm efficiency. 0

Inside the room, the other guard remained oblivious to any abnormality around him. In stark contrast to the corpse at the door, he sat lazily in a chair, leaning back against its support. He barely glanced at the surveillance screen with disinterest. At that moment, all his attention seemed focused on his fingers as he lowered his head to carefully pick at dirt lodged beneath his nails. His brow furrowed tightly in annoyance as if this small speck of grime irritated him greatly. 0

"Damn it... why won't it come off..." he muttered under his breath, fixated on his nails while completely ignoring the chilling presence of death beside him. 0

Li Mu observed this scene coldly, a calm murderous intent gleaming in his eyes. He knew that this guard's ignorance and negligence provided him with an ideal opportunity. The guard was entirely absorbed in his trivial task, oblivious to his surroundings as if only that speck of dirt mattered while he overlooked the fate of his partner. This careless oversight was precisely Li Mu's chance to act. 0

Silently maneuvering over the guard's cold body with nimble grace, Li Mu's feet landed softly on the ground with feather-light sound. He crouched low like a predator stalking through darkness, each step precise and silent. His gaze was sharp as a blade as he scanned the surroundings warily to confirm the room’s environment. The target sat lazily in a chair with his back turned to him, completely unaware of the threat behind him. The dim yellow light enveloped the room while smoke and mildew mingled in the air, creating an oppressive atmosphere. 0

The guard continued staring at his fingers, frowning deeply as he irritably picked at dirt beneath his nails, showing no interest in anything around him. With an impatient tone, he called out towards the door: "Hey! Where have you gone? Bring me my nail clipper!" He didn’t even lift his head, completely unaware that his "partner" had already become a lifeless corpse. 0

Li Mu recognized this moment as perfect timing. No longer hesitating, he deftly drew a thin reinforced wire from his waist—a specially crafted cord as fine as hair yet incredibly strong enough to easily slice through skin and soft tissue. He swiftly and accurately wrapped it several times around with tension and force that seemed ready to snuff out life in an instant. 0

He moved quietly, his steps steady and silent like a shadow creeping up on the guard. His eyes were focused and cold, his heartbeat steady, exuding an air of calmness and chill. With a slight flick of his wrist, the iron cord in his hand shot forward, instantly wrapping around the guard's neck. 0

“Ugh—cough…!” The guard suddenly felt a violent wave of suffocation as the steel wire tightened around his throat, like an iron shackle choking off his airway. His hands instinctively clawed upwards, struggling to free himself from the oppressive grip, but the iron cord had embedded itself deeply into his skin, its cold metallic touch constricting mercilessly like a venomous snake, cutting off his oxygen supply. 0

Li Mu stood expressionless behind him, firmly holding both ends of the cord, distributing the force evenly to keep it tightly pressed against the guard's windpipe. His arm muscles tensed slightly as he skillfully controlled the tension, ensuring the angle of the cord was precise, preventing any chance of escape. This was a silent struggle for life and death; Li Mu's gaze was indifferent and focused, as if he were a detached observer watching a pointless performance, devoid of any emotional fluctuation. 0

The guard's face gradually shifted from red to purple, his eyes bloodshot and filled with terror, veins bursting across the whites of his eyes. His fingers clawed frantically at his neck, leaving deep scratches as his nails tore into his skin, even drawing blood along the iron cord. Each attempt to breathe brought only intense suffocation and unrelenting pressure; it felt as if a fire ignited within his chest but offered no relief. 0

Li Mu's gaze never wavered, calmly observing as the guard's struggles began to weaken. He understood well that in conditions of oxygen deprivation, the human body would quickly lose consciousness. In those initial seconds, the guard would fight desperately to restore his oxygen supply; however, as the oxygen in his blood rapidly depleted, his brain would succumb to unconsciousness, followed by irreversible brain death. 0

He patiently waited, maintaining a steady pressure on the iron cord without slackening. The guard's movements grew slower and weaker until finally, his hands fell limply at his sides and his body gradually slumped. Li Mu remained composed, carefully feeling for the guard's pulse until that faint heartbeat completely ceased. Only then did he slowly relax his grip on the iron cord. 0

The guard's head drooped forward weakly, eyes still wide open with fear and unwillingness from before death; his mouth slightly parted as if wanting to say something but unable to make a sound. The lifeless body slid down against the back of the chair, maintaining a seated posture yet unable to respond to any sound—completely transformed into a cold shell. 0
