When Li Xue returned to the Li Family apartment, Li Ling was already there. She sat in the living room and, upon seeing Li Xue, her expression darkened.
"You finally know how to come back?"
Li Xue glanced at her. "This is my home. Why wouldn’t I come back?"
Li Ling scoffed. "Your home? I think your real home is at your cousin's place!"

Li Ling huffed again. "If you like living at the the Chen Family so much, why don’t you just stay there for good?"

Li Xue was momentarily taken aback before bursting into laughter. "Living off your cousin? Li Ling, get it straight—I’m staying at the the Chen Family for work convenience."
"…." Li Ling's expression soured. "You…"
"Lingling."
Suddenly, Li Jin walked in.
Li Ling turned to him. "Jin Ge, you're back!"
Li Jin ignored her and walked over to sit on the sofa.
Li Ling's face fell further. "Jin Ge…"
Li Jin looked up at her. "What are you doing here?"
Li Ling was taken aback. "I… this is the Li Family; can’t I be here?"
Li Jin sneered coldly. "The Li Family? What does it have to do with you?"
"…." Li Ling's face turned pale. "Jin Ge, you…"
"Li Ling, remember this: there’s only one sister on my household registration."
"…." Li Ling swayed slightly, her face looking very bad.
Li Xue watched Li Jin, feeling a warmth in her heart.
At that moment, Grandma Gu came out.
"Xiao Xue is back."
Seeing her, Li Xue quickly stood up. "Grandma."

Li Xue was surprised. "Grandma, you prepared a gift for me?"

"..." Li Xue took a deep breath. "Li Ling, stop talking nonsense."
"Nonsense? I'm just speaking the truth," Li Ling said with an innocent look.

Li Ling's face turned pale. "Xiaoxue, you..."
"Enough!" Grandma Gu shouted loudly. "Do you two sisters think I'm dead?"
Li Xue's expression darkened. "Grandma, that's not what I meant; I just..."
"What do you mean?" Grandma Gu huffed again. "I see you look down on me; at my age, you show me no respect at all."
"..." Li Xue felt increasingly at a loss for words.
Li Jin spoke up, "Grandma, please don't say that. Xiaoxue didn't mean it."
"..." Grandma Gu's expression changed. "Li Jin, what do you mean by that?"
Li Jin smiled faintly. "Grandma, I'm just stating the truth."
"..." Grandma Gu took a deep breath. "Oh, so you all have teamed up to bully an old woman like me, huh?"
Li Jin furrowed his brow. "Grandma, please don't say that..."

At that moment, Liu Liyun and Li Wenguang came downstairs.
Liu Liyun heard Grandma Gu's words and her expression darkened. "Mom, what are you doing?"
Grandma Gu snorted coldly. "What am I doing? Your Li Xue has learned to bully people now!"
"..." Liu Liyun was taken aback, then laughed. "Mom, what are you talking about? Xiaoxue would never bully anyone!"
Grandma Gu huffed again. "Of course she bullies people! Not only does she bully me, but she also bullies Lingling!"

Li Xue nodded and handed the box in her hand to Liu Liyun.
Liu Liyun opened it and saw a pair of gold bracelets inside.
She smiled and said, "Mom, look how beautiful the bracelets Xiaoxue bought for you are! This style is very trendy."
Grandma Gu's expression shifted slightly, but she said nothing.
Liu Liyun continued, "Mom, please don't give away Xiaoxue's heartfelt gift. She spent several hours shopping for these bracelets just for you."
"..." Grandma Gu's expression changed again, but she remained silent.
Li Xue glanced at Li Ling and said, "Grandma, I know I came back late and made you unhappy, but I was trying to buy gifts for Mom and Dad. I didn't expect you to be so angry."
Grandma Gu's expression changed but she pouted instead. "I understand now."
Li Xue smiled gently. "Grandma, please don't be angry anymore."
Grandma Gu let out a cold hum. "Forget it, forget it. Let's eat."
At the dining table, Li Xue and Li Jin sat together, while Li Ling and Grandma Gu were across from them. Grandma Gu kept serving dishes to Li Ling, not even glancing at Li Xue.
Li Xue didn’t mind; she simply lowered her head and continued eating. Li Jin shot a displeased glance at Grandma Gu, furrowing his brows slightly.
Li Ling smiled at Grandma Gu. "Grandma, you should eat more too."
Grandma Gu chuckled. "Alright, alright."
Li Xue glanced at Li Ling, feeling a bit uncomfortable. She pursed her lips and focused on her meal again.
Li Ling looked at her. "Xue, why are you only eating rice and not any vegetables?"
Li Xue frowned slightly. "I don't like vegetables."
Li Ling was taken aback for a moment. "Why not?"
Li Xue took a deep breath. "No reason; I just don’t like them."
Li Ling smiled. "Actually, eating more vegetables is really good for your health, especially for your skin."
Li Xue remained silent, continuing to eat.
Li Ling observed her. "Xue, why aren’t you talking?"
Li Xue took another deep breath. "I don’t know what to say."
Li Ling smiled again. "You can tell me what you've been doing outside."
Li Xue glanced at her. "There's nothing much to say."
Li Ling laughed lightly. "How could there be nothing to say? I heard you've been staying with the the Chen Family for quite a while; they must treat you well."
Li Xue inhaled deeply. "Yes, the the Chen Family treats me very well."
Li Ling smiled again. "Then why don’t you stay with the the Chen Family?"
Li Xue frowned slightly. "I stay with the the Chen Family because it's convenient for work."

Li Ling looked at her again. "Xue, I think it’s better if you don’t always stay with the the Chen Family."

"Lingling!" Grandma Gu suddenly spoke up.
Li Ling turned to look at her, surprised.
Grandma Gu stared at her coldly. "You should say less."
"..." Li Ling's face turned white, and she dared not say anything more.
Li Xue glanced at Grandma Gu, feeling slightly astonished.
After dinner, Li Xue returned to her room.
Just after she finished her shower, she heard a knock on the door from outside.
She walked to the door and opened it, only to see Liu Wen standing there.
She was taken aback. "What are you doing here?"
Liu Wen looked somewhat troubled. "Xiaoxue..."
Before he could finish his sentence, Li Xue slammed the door shut.
Outside, Liu Wen was momentarily stunned but quickly resumed knocking.
Li Xue took a deep breath and opened the door again. "What do you want?"
Liu Wen looked at her earnestly. "Xiaoxue, please let me explain..."
"..." Li Xue shut the door again.
Outside, Liu Wen sighed helplessly but continued to knock persistently.
Li Xue inhaled deeply and opened the door once more. "What do you want from me?"
Liu Wen looked at her intently. "Xiaoxue, I want to talk to you."
"..." Li Xue glanced at him. "Between us..."
"Xiaoxue!" Liu Wen interrupted her loudly. "I'm begging you; just give me one chance."
