On a pitch-black night, Youxin was walking home with her Mother when she inadvertently overheard that their neighbor, Sister Wen, had been possessed by a Ghost Child.
Initially, they didn’t believe it until they saw a crowd gathered at Sister Wen's doorstep. Despite her age, Sister Wen was shouting for someone to play with her, clearly indicating that she was either possessed or under some kind of spell.
A monk dressed in robes appeared, performing hand gestures and chanting incantations. He then sprayed talisman water at Sister Wen. After a series of convulsions, Sister Wen finally returned to her normal self and calmed down.
Once everything settled, the monk warned everyone that the Ghost Child harbored deep grievances and advised them not to provoke it lightly.
The crowd nodded in agreement, but Youxin's Mother had a strange expression on her face. It turned out that this old woman had been secretly raising the Ghost Child, and shockingly, the Ghost Child was her own son.
"Son, son, Mom has bought you a new toy to play with! You must bless our family with peace and safety!"
Over the years, Youxin had grown accustomed to such oddities; after all, her younger brother had passed away young, and she could understand her Mother seeking solace in this way.
Little did they know that the Ghost Child was a sinister entity that would soon trigger a series of terrifying events.
At that moment, Youxin realized that her childhood doll was missing.
As she searched frantically for it, her wretched Father stumbled home drunk. Upon seeing him, Mother exploded with anger, berating him for being a good-for-nothing who only drank and played mahjong all day.
Just as it seemed her Father was about to strike Mother, he suddenly appeared to be pushed by an unseen force.
"What happened?"
"Dad."
"You pushed me; who pushes you? You were just careless. Someone definitely pushed me."
Soon, Youxin encountered something strange as well. While he was in the shower, applying soap, he suddenly heard a bizarre sound coming from the water tank behind him.
He lifted the lid to check and saw a ghostly shadow reflected on the water's surface. Terrified, Youxin turned around only to see a small ghost hanging upside down from the beam.
Unexpectedly, the lights in the corridor went out. He turned on his flashlight, gritting his teeth as he cautiously climbed up the stairs. Suddenly, accompanied by a piercing scream, the Demon Child Statue that Mother had placed there inexplicably rolled onto the staircase.
Youxin hurried back home, only to find Mother sleeping soundly and the Demon Child Statue perfectly intact in its original spot.
Not daring to sleep alone, Youxin had no choice but to make do on the recliner next to Mother for the night.
The next day, Youxin went to work at the factory as usual.
Due to his introverted and timid nature, he often faced exclusion from his colleagues.
One colleague, known as Flower Sister, constantly sought trouble, filling her words with sarcasm and insults directed at Youxin. The timid Youxin chose to silently endure it all instead of fighting back.
However, taking a step back did not lead to a brighter horizon.
After work, Youxin was ambushed from behind and knocked unconscious. When he woke up, he found himself disheveled and sprawled across his boss's office desk.
It was clear that Youxin had been violated, but he didn't know how to protect himself.
As he left in a daze, he suddenly spotted Boss's Daughter holding the doll he had lost.
"Why is this doll here? I found it in your bag."
While waiting for a ride outside, Youxin pondered over his situation and decided to share his experience online.
To his surprise, instead of receiving help from netizens, he was met with ridicule and mockery, leaving him engulfed in despair.
At that moment, the only source of comfort was the doll Doudou that had always been by his side.
"You need to help me kill this person."
However, before he could finish his sentence, a speeding van nearly ran him over, causing the doll to slip from his grasp and fall to the ground.
Just then, Mother arrived to pick her up. Seeing her drenched, she hurriedly took her back home.
