"Oh my God." The ground shook with distant footsteps as Jiao An, surprised, lowered her gun. "I was just about to ask how to kill that thing up ahead."
Through the smoke in the distance, four legs towering like high-rise buildings began to emerge, followed by a beam of red light in the sky—those were the eyes of the heavily armored Mechanical Beast, scanning for obstacles ahead.
More and more heavy-armored Mechanical Beasts appeared in the line of sight of the human coalition forces, with one leading the pack, striding confidently at the front.
Its four legs had been reinforced; human infantry weapons were ineffective against them. Each step it took was heavy and powerful as it advanced forward.
"Where's the rocket launcher? Aim for their joints!" Wu Xiaolong shouted next to Jiao An, commanding the nearby soldiers.
A rocket was fired, but after the explosion, the heavily armored Mechanical Beast continued to move swiftly on its limbs.
With the support of the armored mechanical units, the internal Human forces became increasingly reckless in their assault, their overwhelming firepower forcing humans to duck for cover.
Several tanks and armored vehicles bravely moved forward, creating a steel wall for the soldiers behind them.
However, fear gripped everyone as a laser beam from the Mechanical Beast's eyes struck down, instantly blowing off a tank turret into the air before it crashed heavily back to the ground.
Two armored vehicles quickly took the tanks' positions, continuing to hold the front line.
"Fall back, Jiao An!" An energy blast exploded nearby, sending Wu Xiaolong coughing up dust as he looked up at Jiao An. "It's only six hundred meters away; that steel monster will be on us in no time. We can't do anything against it."
"Commander, drones have detected new enemy movements from the southwest. They seem to be planning a flank attack on the front line!" The equipment operator beside Wu Xiaolong pointed at a screen filled with red dots.
Jiao An struggled to calm herself and pondered her next move. Just then, Qin Weishan, who was crouched in front of her providing cover from bullets, reminded her, "Don't forget about Captain An's tactic!"

Yes! If we can't hold them off directly, let's make them chase after this carrot!
"Fall back!" Jiao An ordered Wu Xiaolong. "And tell everyone to disperse; no more forming defensive lines. This is a city—our home turf. We'll engage them in guerrilla warfare within a limited area!"
Jiao An's reasoning was sound. While it made sense for internal Humans to use heavy weapons to break through defenses, they had forgotten that this was an urban environment on Earth. If The Celestial Warriors Alliance and human forces opted for flanking tactics, their opponents' agility would exceed expectations.
Thus, heavy weaponry would become more of a burden.
As these mechanical beasts approached the front line, human forces began to retreat. Following Jiao An's command, they formed small groups of three or five and chose different hiding spots for counterattacks. Jiao An and Qin Weishan laid down smoke grenades to obscure visibility and cover everyone's retreat.
Thus began humanity's urban guerrilla defense.
"Wu Xiaolong, I need you to lead Spark Special Forces and rendezvous with Lu Sha and others." Before they parted ways, Jiao An instructed Wu Xiaolong. "She's fighting alone against Divine Realm's Support Team to clear our rear from airborne troops. I've shared her coordinates with you."
"Understood!" Wu Xiaolong turned but was stopped by Qin Weishan. He gazed intently at him: "Young man, come back alive."
Wu Xiaolong patted his chest and nodded silently as a shell landed nearby; they had little time left for their retreat from the front line.
The two groups split ways and vanished into the smoke of battle.
Meanwhile, unaware internal Humans continued firing into the foggy obstacles ahead, still believing that humans were resisting their assault in the simplest manner possible.
Jiao An and Qin Weishan chose to act independently; after getting on Jiao An's motorcycle, they left the front line behind.
"Lead them to the city center, where there are many tall buildings and plenty of concealed spots. It's perfect for us to ambush them all at once," Jiao An said as she rode the motorcycle, with Qin Weishan sitting behind her.
"I don't think that's likely," Qin Weishan replied. "Look at those mechanical monsters; there's no way our individual weapons can harm them."
"Don't worry, I have a plan. Every bullet of mine has its purpose."
"What do you mean?"
Before Qin Weishan could grasp her words, a low buzzing sound suddenly came from above. They looked up just in time to see a laser beam shooting down—Longxing Mercenaries had already landed throughout the city!
"Watch out!" Qin Weishan shouted. Jiao An quickly turned the handlebars and slammed on the brakes, causing the motorcycle to drift in a straight line. However, before they could stabilize, another blast struck. This time, an energy projectile exploded near their motorcycle's tire, sending both of them flying off!
The motorcycle spun through the air and crashed into a barbecue stand at the entrance of a nearby restaurant, collapsing it under the impact.
Jiao An and Qin Weishan tumbled to the ground but quickly got back on their feet. They saw Longxing Mercenaries appearing on the ground and in the air, guns aimed at them.
Divine Fist immediately activated the shield within his mechanical gauntlet, while Nightmare swiftly responded by setting up a sniper rifle behind him and switching it to full-auto mode.
"Don't engage them yet."
A female voice called out as a woman dressed in tight black leather emerged from behind the Longxing Mercenaries. She was none other than Stalker, the last "acquaintance" who had deceived The Celestial Warriors Alliance for many years.
Behind her stood a tall, imposing figure with a green face and sharp teeth, clad in armor—the Shatterer Gad, another second-tier commander who had fought alongside Xiu Sha during their first invasion of Earth.
"These two are significant figures. Even if you aim at them, they can still find a way to eliminate you," Stalker waved her hand, signaling the Mercenaries to disperse.
The Longxing Mercenaries exchanged glances, hesitated for a moment, then gradually moved away, continuing forward until only Stalker and Shatterer remained in front of Nightmare and Divine Fist.
"Retreating from the front lines so soon? What's wrong? Have you lost confidence in your kind? We're here specifically to hunt you down; letting you go like this is too embarrassing."
Shatterer lifted his heavy hammer onto his shoulder and snorted coldly. He remembered how Divine Fist had teamed up with Fierce Eagle to knock him out three years ago; now he was determined to settle that score.
"Hunting us down... Hmph! The tactics left by our ancestors specifically target invaders like you!" Divine Fist lowered his shield and stood protectively in front of Nightmare. "What’s wrong? Still not satisfied after getting beaten last time? Want to come for more?"
"I'll show you who gets beaten!"
Just as Shatterer was about to charge forward, a buzzing sound suddenly came from the east side of the school district.
Plans changed. This was Stalker's immediate reaction upon hearing the noise.
The tense atmosphere was shattered as all four turned their attention to the side. Aibo appeared with a leg as thick as an elephant's, stomping forward with steps that made the stones on the ground tremble.
Behind him dragged a heavy anchor covered in green moss, pulling along fallen leaves and scattered paper.
Aibo's expression darkened; he concealed Stone Man's mouth while his blue eyes locked onto Shatterer, who was equally large and imposing.
The two met for the first time and instantly eyed each other with hostility; it seemed they were natural enemies.
"Titan Clan," Stalker introduced to Shatterer. "This is the Stone Giant that the Emperor asked you to find."
"Got it." Although it was unclear what this "got it" meant, Shatterer quickly jogged toward Aibo.
Aibo showed no intention of dodging; he swung his arm and hurled the iron anchor at Shatterer. Shatterer merely brushed it aside with his hand before roaring forward. Aibo remained silent as he raised his fist—about the size of a tire—and collided with Shatterer's heavy hammer!
"Stone giant, you make me feel the oppressive aura of a king." Shatterer's white beard fluttered in the air waves caused by the collision between the two. He has aged a lot in the past few years. "I, Gad, always respect all opponents of equal strength." However, Aibo still said nothing. Another fist appeared under Shatterer's jaw. A heavy uppercut made Shatterer retreat backwards. The two wrestled together, inseparable. At the same time, stalker and Shatterer took action together. She transformed into a shadow, and the shadow split into two black shadows swimming on the ground. Then the shadow suddenly rose up and wrapped around Divine Fist. Nightmare reacted faster and dodged the shadow that attacked her. At the same time, she pulled out the dual-wielding pistols at her waist and fired several shots at stalker who had gathered back. However, stalker deliberately kept his form between human form and shadow at this time, and the bullets shot by Nightmare had no effect on him. After a few shots, Nightmare realized something was wrong, took out the "Dreamfall" sniper rifle from behind, switched to the battle sword form and prepared to fight. "Uh---" The rocket-cannon dual thrust devices hanging on both sides of Divine Fist's arms ignited, and he struggled to break free from the shadow's wrapping. Seeing stalker and Nightmare fighting with swords and shadows, he immediately stepped forward to support! Unexpectedly, stalker disappeared the moment he swung his fist behind his head, and dived into the shadow again. Damn! In this moment of less than half a second, Divine Fist's muscles instantly tensed up, and he pulled his fist back abruptly, and a fist gust of wind rushed towards Nightmare. Nightmare's eyes widened, and Divine Fist's fist hit him in front of his face-just one step away, and stalker would kill him with a knife again. stalker appeared behind Divine Fist, and the shadow entangled him again, throwing him out like a wrapped corpse. Shatterer, who was killing with a rage, knocked Aibo to the ground with a hammer. Seeing Divine Fist thrown at his feet, he smiled knowingly, and a ferocious smile appeared in his fangs. "Don't you want him? I'll deal with him." stalker shouted, and Nightmare slashed with a knife, but she blocked it easily. Aibo hadn't gotten up yet, and Shatterer immediately stepped on him, trying to end Divine Fist with one kick. Divine Fist's eyes widened, and he quickly rolled to avoid it, but Shatterer's wide feet fell like raindrops, and each kick was deadly enough. He could only roll over and over—— A gunshot rang out, and a mark appeared on the glass of the armor on Shatterer's head. His attack was interrupted! Nightmare actually pulled out his other hand, pulled out a pistol, aimed forcefully, and stopped Shatterer! Seeing Nightmare distracted, stalker immediately pulled out Light Arc Dagger and stabbed her! "Ugh!" Nightmare's abdomen was severely injured, but she endured the severe pain and immediately slashed down with the sword. stalker was unable to dodge and could only turn into a shadow to get away from Nightmare, but Light Arc Dagger stabbed Nightmare on the left side of her waist and abdomen. At this time, Divine Fist had already unsealed the shadow and fought against Shatterer together with Aibo, and had not yet noticed Nightmare's abnormality. She could only fight alone and challenge the internal Human female killer in front of her.
