I instinctively rolled to the side, narrowly avoiding the claws of MOT-27. The ground was instantly smashed into a large crater, debris flying everywhere. The sheer power of this monster was beyond imagination! 0

"Matthew, watch out!" Sam lunged forward and pushed me aside. Just then, MOT-27's steel fist came crashing down on his shoulder with a sharp crack. 0

Sam let out a scream as he was sent flying far away, landing heavily on the ground, motionless. 0

"Sam!" I shouted, feeling darkness creeping in at the edges of my vision. Rage filled my chest as I raised my gun and unleashed a barrage of bullets at MOT-27. 0

The bullets rained down on the robot, sparking flames upon impact. But to my despair, none of them left even a scratch on its armor! 0

MOT-27 shook its head, its crimson eyes glinting with a bloodthirsty light. It opened its massive mouth and unleashed a beam of green laser straight toward my chest! 0

In that critical moment, a small figure leaped in front of me, taking the hit. The next second, blinding white light filled my vision. My mind went blank... 0

"Lucy!" I cried out in agony. But when the bright light faded, I was met with a heartbreaking reality—Lucy, my little angel Lucy, had been pierced through the chest, blood gushing onto the ground. 0

"No, please no!" I cradled Lucy's body, sobbing uncontrollably. Her face was pale as paper, her eyes tightly shut, yet her lips curled into a slight smile as if she were having a sweet dream. But I knew she would never wake up again. 0

This little girl, who should have had a brilliant future ahead of her, had given her life to protect me—a pitiful creature with nothing to offer. 0

"Lucy, I'm so sorry... I couldn't protect you..." I wept bitterly, holding her tightly in my arms. Guilt, regret, and sorrow surged within me, nearly suffocating me. 0

Why? Why did fate have to torment me like this? You gave me a reason to live again but cruelly snatched it away in an instant! 0

MOT-27 coldly observed everything, its metallic face betraying no emotion. It slowly raised its arm, the barrel aimed at my forehead. 0

At that moment, a tin can suddenly flew in from the side and struck MOT-27 on the head. With a sharp clang, the can shattered upon impact, splattering its contents all over the robot. 0

Looking in the direction of the throw, I saw Hugo had somehow climbed up to the platform on the second floor. He was holding several metal cans, ready to toss them down. "Matthew, now's your chance!" 0

MOT-27 hesitated for a moment before turning to pounce on Hugo. In that split second, a thought struck me. The mysterious liquid from earlier seemed to have affected this metallic monster! Its movements had noticeably slowed, joints creaking and faint wisps of white smoke rising. Could this be its weakness? 0

I quickly scanned my surroundings and my gaze landed on a row of metal cans in the corner. They looked identical to the ones Hugo was holding; surely they contained the same liquid! 0

With my mind racing, I made a snap decision. "Hugo, throw those cans over here!" I shouted as I dashed toward the corner and scooped up all the cans. 0

Hugo paused for a moment but quickly understood. He hurled the cans at MOT-27 with all his might while shouting, "Matthew, now's the time!" 0
