The wedding preparations were in full swing, and Su Yi's mood was getting better by the day. Perhaps it was because she had successfully won Qin Jingyan from my grasp; her health had improved significantly lately.
On the day of the grand wedding, the sun seemed to join in the festivities, peeking out from behind the clouds. Its rays playfully filtered through the gaps in the leaves, casting dappled light on the courtyard adorned with flowers, making it look like a scene from a dream. The air was filled with the fragrance of blossoms, mingled with a sickly sweet scent.
Su Yi had chosen this sunny day to marry Qin Jingyan in style. Relatives and friends had traveled from afar to attend, each face beaming with joy, their blessings overflowing.
"Xiao Yue, do you think this wedding dress is beautiful?" Su Yi twirled around to show off her gown, a proud smile on her face. "Jingyan picked it out just for me."
I forced a smile. "It's very beautiful, sister."
"Of course," Su Yi replied smugly. "After all, Jingyan dotes on me so much now; he treats me like I'm precious, afraid I'll melt in his mouth or break in his hands."
"By the way, you still have to be my bridesmaid. Are you ready?" Su Yi asked casually while adjusting her hair.
I lowered my head to hide my indifferent gaze. "I'm ready. Don't worry, my dearest sister."
"That's good," Su Yi giggled. "Today is the most important day of my life; you mustn't mess anything up. After all, the the Qin Family is a prestigious family."
As the wedding march began to play, Su Yi linked arms with her father and gracefully walked down the aisle. Her wedding dress floated like a cloud, making her look like a fairy. I held a bouquet and followed her slowly. At the other end of the aisle stood Qin Jingyan in a sharp suit, his gaze fixed intently on me.
During the ring exchange ceremony, Qin Jingyan expressionlessly placed a ring on Su Yi's finger. She shot me a triumphant glance before turning to him and sweetly slipping a ring onto his finger as well.
Guests rose to their feet, applause and cheers erupting as if they wanted to freeze this moment of happiness forever. Countless petals rained down like colorful ribbons, crowning their love.
Just as the ceremony reached its most romantic moment, the large screen that was supposed to display sweet photos and videos of the couple suddenly switched images. Everyone was stunned; on screen appeared secret videos of Su Yi and Qin Jingyan—intimate and steamy moments laid bare before all.
"Oh my God, what's happening?" one guest exclaimed, breaking the stunned silence.
Whispers spread through the crowd as guests exchanged shocked glances and murmured among themselves. The Su Yi on screen appeared unusually forward, entwined with Qin Jingyan, revealing an unknown side of her to everyone present.
Then another clip played—a recording of Su Yi frantically pressuring me to give up on Qin Jingyan. Her face twisted in rage, she completely lost her previous ladylike demeanor, shouting like a common street brawler. "Isn't this supposed to be the wedding of the the Qin Family and the Su Family? How could this happen?" people whispered nearby.
The screen seemed like an unrelenting mouth that repeatedly played those explosive contents; chaos erupted at the wedding venue as if a bomb had been dropped.
Qin Jingyan's expression darkened significantly; he stared at the screen with clenched fists, struggling to contain his emotions.
"This isn't real; this isn't real..." Su Yi covered her mouth and shook her head frantically, repeating those words as the screen mercilessly exposed everything.
At that moment, another image appeared on screen—a letter left by Qin Jingyan's mother. The handwriting was clear and revealed an astonishing secret—the mystery of Qin Jingyan's origins. Gasps filled the room; this revelation was even more shocking than the previous videos.
"Qin Jingyan, who are you really?" someone shouted loudly.
Qin Jingyan stood frozen; he never expected such secrets would surface at this critical moment. His eyes widened as he stared at the screen, his expression shifting through every color imaginable like a spilled palette.
Su Yi completely broke down; she fell to her knees with a thud and cried out in despair. "Why is this happening? Why is this happening?" Her wails echoed with pure hopelessness and helplessness that sent chills down everyone's spine.
The entire wedding venue erupted in chaos, with guests chattering away in a frenzy. Some furrowed their brows in sympathy, while others laughed gleefully at the unfolding drama. What was supposed to be a joyous occasion filled with blessings had turned into an absurd spectacle due to a series of unexpected events.
