Zhiqing grasped the doorknob and slowly turned it, the heavy door creaking open. He cautiously surveyed his surroundings before stepping into the room, where a sharp metallic scent of blood assaulted his senses. His heart skipped a beat as he caught sight of Liu Yi, who appeared to be asleep, though his posture felt unsettlingly wrong. 0

Liu Yi was slumped against the back of the chair, his head turned away from Zhiqing as if he were a mischievous child who had fallen into a deep sleep after a long day, oblivious to any noise that might disturb him. 0

The computer screen flickered with static, displaying Ziya and Zhiqing nestled together... Zhiqing approached Liu Yi, noticing that he seemed truly asleep, not stirring even slightly at Zhiqing's entrance. Not even a twitch of his feet or hands. This was the last thing Zhiqing wanted to see; he wished Liu Yi would argue with him as he had before. 0

Zhiqing thought the sound of the door opening should have awakened the sleeping Liu Yi. Why was there no response? The more he pondered, the more uneasy he felt. Anxiety creeping in, he hurried toward Liu Yi. 0

Lost in his thoughts, Zhiqing failed to notice the dampness underfoot until he felt something sticky and wet on his shoe. Looking down, he recoiled in horror at the bloodstains beneath him. He lifted his shoe to find it smeared with congealed blood, and with each step he took, large bloody footprints marked the floor. His gaze fell upon a pool of thick blood extending beneath Liu Yi's chair. 0

Panic surged through Zhiqing as he rushed to Liu Yi's side… He was horrified to see Liu Yi's head drooping against the chair, his bloodshot eyes wide open in shock, revealing a mix of red and white in his pupils. A bloody tear rolled down from the corner of his eye to his ear. His mouth was agape as if trying to speak, but a gruesome gash across his throat exposed shredded tissue that had severed both trachea and esophagus. Blood soaked through Liu Yi's shirt, clearly visible from the front. 0

In that moment, Zhiqing felt a rush of blood to his head—fear, horror, and rage coursed through him. He slammed his fist onto the table, veins bulging in his neck as he clenched his jaw tightly. 0

After a moment of shock, Zhiqing scanned the room in confusion. His eyes landed on a wall beside Liu Yi where, besides a smear of blood, several large crimson characters were scrawled: "You are next!" 0

The sight of those hastily written words sent chills down his spine. It seemed that the demon had not only arrived before him to brutally murder Liu Yi but had also left behind a threatening message. Who would be next? The stench of blood filled the air as his mind went blank for an instant before racing again. Ziya... she... The thought of her brought an overwhelming sense of dread crashing over him. Without another moment's hesitation, Zhiqing turned to leave the room. 0

Regret washed over him for having left Ziya alone; he had intended to save Liu Yi only to find him dead before he could arrive. As Zhiqing stepped back toward the door and reached for the doorknob, he heard noises coming from outside. His hand froze mid-motion, instinctively retreating as he pressed himself against the door to listen intently. 0

Meanwhile, after Zhiqing had left, Ziya found it impossible to relax in the darkness surrounding her. The fear she had felt earlier dissipated; now she was alone but her thoughts were consumed by another person’s safety. Rather than remain anxious here alone, she decided it would be better to follow him into danger. With that thought in mind, Ziya sprang into action, retracing her steps through the ventilation shaft and emerging from a single restroom. 0

The atmosphere felt stifling and oppressive; fear hung thick in the air. As she stepped out of the restroom, she steadied her nerves and focused on finding her way back to the computer room. Cautiously advancing forward, she soon found herself confused; all she saw were identical hallways and corridors around her. Her mind dulled by disorientation in this maze-like structure combined with flickering lights—Ziya was lost. 0

A faint sigh drifted through the air, brushing against Ziya's eardrum like a gentle breeze, and she consciously reminded herself that this was a house of the living dead. Aside from Zhiqing or anyone else who might not have been rescued in time, it was likely that the cold, heartless demon was present. 0

Ziya gazed at the mottled walls, where a curled-up figure lay ahead. What was it? As she approached the figure, a stench of decay hit her, and Ziya suddenly remembered that it was Xiao Ranhong's corpse. 0

"No... I can't look." The horrifying image of Xiao Ranhong's unblinking face flashed in her mind, and Ziya swallowed hard, whispering to herself. She wanted to turn and leave, but out of the corner of her eye, she thought she saw Xiao Ranhong's body move slightly. 0

"Is it... faking death? Oh my god!" Ziya could no longer hold back her fear; she stumbled backward, screaming in panic. The sound of her chaotic footsteps echoed down the corridor, accompanied by heavy breathing. The light above flickered violently, as if everything around her was pulsating. 0

Ziya ran! She ran until her legs felt weak... Just as she thought about stopping to rest, a figure suddenly flashed before her eyes and darted into a nearby room. Who was it? As the question arose, her brows furrowed in curiosity. She hurriedly followed to see. Upon entering the room, Ziya discovered it was filled with discarded items; there was no one inside, only a flickering light illuminating a pile of steel pipes on the floor. 0

Perhaps it was just fatigue playing tricks on her! With that thought in mind, Ziya decided to step back out but then caught sight of the steel pipes. An idea struck her—regardless of whether what she had seen earlier was an illusion or something sinister, she should grab a short steel pipe for protection. 0

Meanwhile, in another room, Ziya's every move was captured by a miniature surveillance camera. The demon watched her distress with unrestrained laughter that shook his entire being; his chilling laughter startled another person lying on the ground awake. 0

The awakened person stared in shock at everything before them—a figure wearing a grotesque mask stood nearby, surrounded by rows of computer monitors. Their gaze shifted to a comic on the wall... Wasn't this the comic they had received on their phone? 0

The demon sensed that Sun Meng had awakened. A cold smile crept across his lips hidden beneath the mask; he had been waiting for this moment when she would wake up—the show was about to begin, and he couldn't afford to miss any part of his carefully planned hunt. 0

Sun Meng wore a mask crafted by the demon himself—this mask was not like any ordinary one; it was a tool for murder. 0

With wide eyes filled with terror, Sun Meng looked at the demon. A gurgling sound escaped her throat as she struggled to speak but found herself forcibly deprived of her voice. 0

The demon dragged Sun Meng into another room—the one where Liu Yi was located—where he would personally enact his horrific series of murders. The final victims would be Ziya, Zhiqing, and Sun Meng. 0

As Ziya recognized the familiar corridor before her, a wave of joy washed over her; this was the room with the computer. She raised her hand, ready to push the door open, but to her surprise, the door swung open on its own. 0

"Zhiqing..." 0

"Ziya." Zhiqing stepped out of the room in shock, just as she was about to embrace her. 0

"There's someone behind you!" Ziya screamed, frantically swinging the short steel pipe in her hands and bringing it down hard on the ghost wielding the Scythe. 0
