Upon hearing this, the other party seemed to understand and said, "I see." The call was immediately followed by a busy tone. The bus arrived at the station, and under the sign, several people had already gathered since Ziya's arrival. People boarded the bus in an orderly manner, quietly inserting their fare into the automatic ticket machine and searching for their seats. Ziya hung up the phone, hesitated for a moment, and hurried onto the bus just as it was about to depart. She looked around but found no available seats, so she had to hold onto a metal pole while standing by the window. From this position, she could observe the outside scenery and passersby, along with the various shops. 0

The bustling city during the day resembled a lion that had just awakened from a brief slumber, ready to roar. A familiar figure suddenly appeared running towards the platform beneath the departing bus, causing Ziya to pause in surprise, wondering if her eyes were deceiving her. 0

After the bus left the station, Ziya steadied herself against the pole and hurried towards the back. The familiar figure seemed quite agitated as they waved their hand and squatted down, watching in the direction from which the bus had come. As she watched the figure grow smaller until it became a tiny black dot, she couldn't help but speculate about who she had just seen. 0

Before Ziya could even take a seat on the bus, it arrived at the News Agency stop. Her phone vibrated urgently with incoming calls as she picked it up in annoyance. With a low sigh of frustration, she muttered, "Oh no, Anqing is calling..." 0

"Hello, Anqing Mama, what's up?" Knowing full well that there would likely be some reprimands waiting for her, Ziya steeled herself to answer while walking towards the door to pull out her card for entry into the Guard Room. 0

On the other end of the line came Zi Anqing's anxious voice scolding her: "You child! Your father woke up and couldn't find you; he's throwing a fit! You need to explain things to him!" 0

"What’s wrong with that? I'm just continuing my work! The internship isn't very long; I'll be careful," Ziya replied. Hearing that Anqing had already hung up, a victorious smile spread across her pale face as she punched in her card and headed towards the inner courtyard. To her surprise, she noticed Sun Meng talking with Liu at the entrance hall. 0

"Hey! Liu! Good morning! Sun Meng!" As soon as Sun Meng saw Ziya, she rushed over and playfully grabbed her without letting go. Liu stood nearby with a sullen expression and soon bounced away into the office. Didn't she know about Zhang, the Chief Editor's incident? Why was there no sign of emotion on her face? 0

"Cold beauty! You coming here for your internship has made all those handsome guys at school so dull," Sun Meng teased. 0

"You’re not here to help me, are you? When I begged you back then, you refused flat out! What made you change your mind today?" 0

"Don't drag me into this; I've had enough of it all! I don't want to see any of that again. Besides, what does any of this have to do with anything? I'm waiting for my boyfriend," Sun Meng exclaimed dramatically as if someone had forced her to come here. 0

"Waiting for your boyfriend? Who is he?" Ziya asked in surprise as she quickly released her grip on Sun Meng. 0

"Today, he called you, and you just went off on him. Tsk! You've forgotten so quickly." 0

"Come on, wasn't it you who provoked me first?" Ziya said, playfully punching Sun Meng on the shoulder. Thinking back to how she had picked up the phone and started cursing, she realized it was indeed a bit excessive. Her pale cheeks flushed with a faint pink. 0

"Look at you, still being stubborn. If you weren't feeling guilty, why would your face be red?" Sun Meng teased, clearly enjoying the moment. 0

"Ziya, can I talk to you for a moment?" Liu called softly from around the corner of the hallway. 0

"Wait here for me; I'll be right back after work," Ziya said, waving her hand at Sun Meng as she turned to leave. 0

"Ziya, I'm serious. My boyfriend is here to help you. Go ahead! I'll wait for you here." 0

Ziya nodded in acknowledgment and walked deeper into the lobby towards Liu's office. 0

"Ziya, please take this resignation report to the HR department," Liu said, handing her a document that looked about the size of an ID card. A quick glance revealed it contained Lao Ran's personal information. This should only be submitted by employees themselves; why would they ask someone unrelated to handle the final procedures for leaving the News Agency? 0

"Liu, this..." Ziya hesitated and didn't reach out to take the document, instead looking for answers from Liu. 0

"Isn't there a situation with Zhang, the Chief Editor? We need to sort out all the unfinished work he left behind before Yuan takes over the News Agency." 0

"You know about Zhang's situation?" Ziya asked. She had heard that Liu was already aware of what had happened to Zhang, yet Liu remained calm and composed, continuing to manage the affairs of the News Agency without any sign of disruption in her efficiency due to this unexpected event. All Ziya could feel was admiration; however, she absolutely could not accept this resignation report to complete it. 0

"Look at my foot; it's inconvenient for me. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother you," Liu said with an embarrassed expression, glancing helplessly at her injured foot. Following her gaze, Ziya noticed that Liu's ankle was wrapped in white bandages—it seemed quite serious. With no further words, she picked up Lao Ran's document and began to examine it closely. 0

Is this document signed in Lao Ran's handwriting? Yet, it bears two different styles for the same name. The signature next to the resignation approval is in the handwriting of Zhang, the Chief Editor, while the signatures beside the employee's name and another employee's signature are different. Having studied similar signing procedures in university, Ziya understands the legal implications involved. At this thought, her heart feels heavy; she wonders whether Lao Ran willingly resigned or if there were other reasons. Why must these documents left behind by Zhang, the Chief Editor be dealt with now, and why call upon an intern who hasn't fully settled in to finalize them? 0

Once this document reaches the HR department for a stamp, Lao Ran's resignation will become a certainty... Ziya puts away the document, showing no intention of leaving immediately. Just then, a plump nurse bursts into the room, rushing over to Liu with exaggerated enthusiasm. 0

"Oh dear! Liu, how could you be so careless? Tsk tsk, you should definitely get some time off from Boss along with medical compensation." As she speaks, she casually nods at Ziya. With Nana dead and Zhang, the Chief Editor gone, Yuan Ye remains steady. However, according to what Ziya learned from inquiries at the News Agency, this place was established by three shareholders. Could it be that Liu would succeed Zhang, the Chief Editor, while Yuan Ye is just a carefree figure with no understanding of journalism? 0

That’s what Ziya thinks, but who knows what’s on Liu's mind? Yet this document feels like a hot potato in her hands; doing it would go against her principles, while not doing it might give her an excuse to be sent home as a new official tries to make their mark. The relationship between Liu Haoming's father and both Zhang, the Chief Editor and Yuan Ye is secretive; aside from those three, no one else knows anything about it. 0

Moreover, this resignation report involves many tangled details concerning an employee's departure. Ziya furrows her brow tightly as she watches the plump nurse and Liu chatting animatedly on one leg. Feeling neglected, she finds it dull and steps out of the office with Lao Ran's documents tucked away in her pocket. 0

Upon reaching the lobby entrance, she indeed finds Sun Meng waiting for her. However, there is also a man facing away from Ziya, heading in the opposite direction. She steps lightly outside, eager to catch a glimpse of what this young gentleman who belongs to Miss Sun looks like. 0
