Qin Nannan raised his lips in a smirk, a gesture that left Ziya beside him quite surprised. Could it be that Qin Nannan was stunned? He actually wanted to... Watching the chubby nurse's brows lift in a smile, she covered her mouth and chuckled silently. 0

Qin Nannan held his lips in that position for a while without any movement. When he finally opened his eyes and saw himself, he gasped, "Oh my god... so ugly..." He flopped back onto the hospital bed with a thud. His strong reaction startled the chubby nurse who was examining him, causing her to almost drop the syringe she was holding. Furious, she wished she could jab the needle into this handsome guy, but then again, how could she bring herself to do that to someone so good-looking? 0

The nurse pulled down her mask, revealing her thick lips and round face, which indeed wasn't attractive, but as long as she felt good about herself, that was all that mattered. Reflecting on the earlier moment with this handsome guy made her think, "Hey! He doesn’t even know your name, and you’re already trying to kiss him." 0

Qin Nannan clicked his tongue and murmured, "I... I would kiss you... never mind, I'm fine now." Saying this, he hurriedly got out of bed and started searching for his shoes on the floor. 0

A pair of fair hands offered him the shoes they had found under the bed. Qin Nannan was taken aback and felt a surge of emotion. Without saying a word, he quickly put on his shoes and pulled Ziya along as they headed outside. Meanwhile, the chubby nurse angrily jabbed the syringe into the pillow on the bed. Still not satisfied, she hugged the pillow that had been used by the patient and sniffed it affectionately, her eyes filled with infatuation. 0

"Uh! So... did I just faint?" Qin Nannan asked, feeling somewhat confused as he struggled to remember what had just happened. Could it be that he... Embarrassment washed over him; how could a man like him lose composure in front of two women? 0

Ziya understood his embarrassment and quickly reassured him, "If you hadn't saved us just now... we don't know what would have happened. You just fainted after bumping into the elevator door." 0

Scratching the back of his head with a sheepish grin, he said, "Hey! Really? Was I the one who saved you?" This small gesture caught Ziya's attention as she nodded earnestly while staring at him for several seconds. 0

This building was incredibly vast! After running around aimlessly for a while, they found themselves somewhat lost when they finally stopped. The quiet corridor stretched on endlessly. 0

A cool breeze swept through as their footsteps echoed softly in the hallway. "Let go! You're so domineering! Why do you always grab someone else's hand and just run off?" After a while of running, Ziya finally realized that her hand was being tightly held. 0

She struggled to free herself from his grip and protested loudly. 0

"Hey! Little girl, come on! I'm your hero protecting you; you can't treat your benefactor like this!" Qin Nannan teased shamelessly with a grin. 0

"Hey, are you really scared out of your wits?" Ziya shrugged her shoulders and walked down the stairs. 0

"Hey! Where are you going?" Qin Nannan hurried a few steps to grab her hand, but Ziya shook it off again, glaring at him in exasperation. 0

Their voices echoed in the empty corridor, sending chills down their spines. Ziya glanced at her phone; it seemed they had already finished work. The surroundings were eerily quiet as she took a few cautious steps to look around. 0

"Weren't we just coming down from the twelfth floor?" Qin Nannan murmured to himself, observing the silent corridor and the tightly closed doors. 0

"It's all your fault for wandering around aimlessly; now I'm lost too." 0

Ziya pushed the strap of her backpack onto her shoulder without stopping, continuing toward the other end. Qin Nannan felt an overwhelming urge to protect her, but he couldn't understand why he had fainted in the elevator. He needed to ask someone about that. 0

The dim lights of the corridor hazily illuminated their moving shadows. Ziya glanced at the nameplate on the wall but couldn't make out much else before hearing footsteps coming from the other end of the hallway. Turning toward the sound, she saw Liu, the bespectacled guy. 0

"Liu, where are we?" 0

"You're on the fifteenth floor. You just came down from the sixteenth; how could you forget?" Liu approached calmly, his earlier fear seemingly vanished. 0

"Are you okay, Qin?" 0

Qin Nannan looked at Ziya and said, "I'm fine as long as my girlfriend is safe and sound." 0

"Who’s your girlfriend? Seriously..." Ziya vehemently denied it, her face flushed with mild anger. Qin Nannan playfully winked at her while she turned away with a disgruntled expression. 0

Qin Nannan was still puzzled about what had just happened. "Liu, is there a ghost in this building? I don't believe in that stuff, but it feels strange." 0

"Shh! Kid, some things are better left unasked. Just focus on your internship here. Everything you see and hear isn't real; only your personal experiences are truly valid." She glanced at Ziya and added, "This little beauty here is quite impressive—smart, brave. I really admire your courage." 0

"What are you talking about? I'm a guy! If anyone has courage, it should be me! I saved you both!" 0

The sound of their footsteps echoed in the empty corridor. Qin Nannan felt a bit dejected as both of them ignored him, losing the enthusiasm he had when he first arrived. When they reached the elevator, Ziya hesitated for a moment and suggested taking the stairs instead. 0

Just then, the elevator doors opened, and Qin Nannan immediately spotted the chubby nurse inside—the one he had almost kissed earlier. He felt an inexplicable aversion and stepped back, firmly refusing to enter the elevator. 0

Ziya looked at Qin Nannan with a troubled expression while Liu and the chubby nurse waited for them inside. Ziya clearly felt uneasy being around this senior who seemed to have an unstable aura; it made her feel insecure. 0

Watching Ziya step into the elevator, Qin Nannan wanted to follow but was deterred by that infatuated face of the nurse. He ultimately chose to take the stairs instead. With a sigh of resignation, he trudged toward the stairwell, where silence enveloped him. The sound of his footsteps was monotonous and lonely. It wasn't fear that gripped him; rather, it was the overly quiet atmosphere that led his mind to wander. 0

The building's floors were high and deep; even during the day, a chill swept through the levels. He tried to think positively. If there were no ghosts in his mind, he wouldn't encounter any—this was something his grandfather often reminded him. The stairs were clean, with finely polished stone giving them a flawless three-dimensional effect. The motion sensor lights only flickered on with each step he took. Bored out of his mind, Qin Nannan thought about humming a few lines from his favorite song when he suddenly turned around. 0

Out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of a shadow resembling a Demon Leader swiftly retreating back into the 15th floor. 0
