Ye Chenfeng approached and reached out, grabbing the girl. She screamed in terror, clawing and biting at him, bits of something she had been chewing falling everywhere. He noticed what she was holding in her hands, with ants crawling over it, and he could smell a sour, rotten odor even from close range. 0

“Shh! Don’t make a fuss. I’m here to help you. You can’t eat that; it’ll upset your stomach,” Ye Chenfeng tried his best to calm her down, but to his surprise, instead of quieting, the girl bit down hard on his wrist without hesitation. 0

“Ah… why are you biting me?” 0

Even though the little girl had bitten him, Ye Chenfeng didn’t let go; he genuinely wanted to help her. 0

Then something particularly shocking happened. The girl seemed very interested in his flesh; not only did she not release her bite, but she also sank her teeth in deeper. Ye Chenfeng frowned and forcefully held her face, finally prying her mouth open. He discovered that the bite had left a deep wound, and as she released him, a piece of skin came away with her. 0

The girl swallowed that piece of skin and licked the blood from her lips, her eyes still wide with terror and wildness as they fixed on Ye Chenfeng. 0

“Holy crap!” Ye Chenfeng was startled by her actions and had no choice but to let go. The girl fell to the ground and darted away like a monkey toward another graveyard, disappearing from his sight. 0

She had entered the graveyard. 0

Ye Chenfeng guessed correctly and walked toward that graveyard. 0

He saw a pair of incredibly terrified eyes peering out from the weeds. 0

His wrist was bleeding and hurt badly. 0

There’s an old saying in the countryside: a dog bite can be treated, but a human bite cannot. Moreover, humans eat grains and vegetables; their teeth carry toxins that are not much different from those of venomous snakes. When a snake bites you, you will slowly die as the poison spreads through your organs. 0

But when a person bites another person, you won’t die immediately; instead, the wound will worsen, fester, and could even lead to worse outcomes. 0

Ye Chenfeng covered his wound, yet he was still determined to tame this wild girl to lead him out; he was truly lost. 0

The graveyard where the girl was hiding was just a few trees away from his current position. 0

He stumbled over, feeling something akin to a spider web on his face, which made him uncomfortable. Instinctively, he reached out to grab it but found nothing; it must have been the spider web in the forest. 0

Ye Chenfeng thought to himself that earlier, he had been very close to the girl, but now every few steps felt laborious, as if she had suddenly become distant and unreachable. He stretched out his arm, intending to clear the spider webs between the trees so he could pass through without resistance. 0

However, as he extended his arm, he touched something cold. 0

Ye Chenfeng felt uneasy; his consciousness was muddled, and it felt like something had bitten his ankle, causing pain and bleeding. The coldness he touched was a face—an extremely deformed face that looked as if it were nothing but skin stretched over bones, aged to the point of resembling the bark of a dead tree. 0

"Grandma... what are you doing here?" 0

In Ye Chenfeng's mind, his grandmother was kind and should be looking at him with a smile, calling him "darling." But the grandmother before him had no warmth in her expression; her face was icy and bore a hint of malevolence as she gazed at him. 0

She did not respond; he could not hear any answer. The scene before him swayed, and he nearly fell to the ground. 0

Ye Chenfeng leaned against a tree trunk, stubbornly trying to see where the girl was hiding. In the haze, he seemed to see someone dressed in red standing before him. Moreover, the hidden girl had emerged from the graveyard and was standing behind the woman in red. 0

They resembled each other like mother and daughter—this was Ye Chenfeng's final impression before exhaustion overwhelmed him; he desperately wanted to sleep peacefully. 0

Qin Keqing joyfully accompanied Zhang Bi to attend a wedding but never expected that the bride would turn out to be the missing Ding Li. 0

Ding Li also saw the few of them, opening her mouth as if to say something, but nothing came out. 0

Shen Binghan was the first to quietly question, "Why is it Ding Li?" 0

Qin Keqing was quite surprised and said, "You think she’s Ding Li too?" 0

Su Bei curled her lips and said, "What do you mean think? She is Ding Li. I would recognize that shameless person even if she turned to ashes. I didn’t expect her to have gone missing for so long and ended up marrying in a godforsaken place like Zhanglin Village." 0

"Can you keep it down?" Shen Binghan glanced around cautiously at the main officiant, the village chief who looked like a Boss with Rhinophyma, red like a strawberry placed on dough, and at Zhang Bi, who was beaming beside him. They hadn’t yet seen the groom, Dong Bian. 0

Someone shouted, "The groom has arrived." 0

Dong Bian appeared. 0

Qin Keqing and the others were stunned; they truly did not expect that such an ugly man existed in this world. His face matched his name perfectly—everything about him was flat: a sunken nose, thin lips, and squinty eyes. 0

"I can’t believe Ding Li just gave up on our handsome Ye Chenfeng. If she’s going to marry someone, it should at least be someone who matches her, someone comparable to Ye Chenfeng! How could she marry a man who looks like he’s grown in reverse?" 0

Qin Keqing lamented with a tone of regret, clicking his tongue as he unwillingly turned to leave. 0

Su Bei asked, "Where are you going?" 0

"Are you stupid? Of course I’m going back to our base to tell Ye Chenfeng about this guy." 0

"Oh." 0

"Let's go! Don't attract anyone's attention," Shen Binghan said cautiously, bending low as he moved quietly. 0

Qin Keqing, along with Shen Binghan and Su Bei, left the wedding venue but couldn't help glancing back one last time. "What a pity... a beautiful flower stuck in cow dung," she remarked. They retraced their steps back to their lodging but inexplicably got lost. 0

There were too many rural paths winding through the countryside. 0

They crisscrossed in every direction, leading to various places. 0

Some led to the riverbank. 0

Some led to the cemetery. 0

Others led into dense forests. 0

And some led to villages. 0

However, after several attempts, they found themselves wandering in circles, unable to escape this strange loop. 0

Shen Binghan grumbled angrily, "Damn... if I had known, I would have stayed and watched that woman marry that ugly guy." 0

"Stop saying useless things. I think we should try that path we haven't taken yet," Qin Keqing said, keeping her mind clear and decisively choosing the route that seemed unfamiliar to them. 0

This path was overgrown with grass, with a narrow trail running through it. They walked and paused repeatedly until they finally stopped in disappointment at the end of the road, which led to an abandoned orchard. The wild grass had grown so tall that it nearly overshadowed the withered fruit trees. 0

However, deep within the orchard stood a simple thatched hut, reigniting their hope of finding a way out. 0

Perhaps they could find something in the thatched hut. 0

Qin Keqing led them over. 0

"Ouch!" The one who cried out was Su Bei; he seemed to feel something bite at the sole of his foot and then couldn't move. Shen Binghan and Qin Keqing helped him along to the hut, where he plopped down and muttered, "What bad luck." 0

"Check if your foot got pricked by a stone," Qin Keqing reminded him, then began to inspect the thatched hut. 0

Inside the hut, there was a moldy mat with sweat stains that were definitely not fresh; if they were, they wouldn't have gone moldy. The corners of the hut were overgrown with wild grass, and among the grass, there were crumpled pieces of paper. 0

It was clear that this place had once been a gathering spot for wild mandarin ducks. 0

With Shen Binghan's help, Su Bei took off his leather shoes and stared wide-eyed at a cut on the bottom of his foot, which was oozing blood. 0

"What the hell is this? How could something bite me through such thick soles?" 0

Shen Binghan also found the situation strange but kept his worries to himself. With a calm smile, he said, "Looks like something took a liking to your little foot and decided to take a bite." 0

"Don't scare me," Su Bei frowned, glancing at the lush orchard filled with wild grass. "We should find a way to leave here as soon as possible; I have a feeling this place is cursed." 0

Qin Keqing nodded in agreement. 0

Just then, Shen Binghan spotted a little girl standing quietly by a bare fruit tree not far away. He exclaimed, "There's someone! Look!" 0

The three of them immediately sprang into action, chasing after the girl. 0

"Dammit, that's not a girl, it's a ghost! How can a person run that fast?" Qin Keqing exclaimed in frustration. 0

Su Bei felt that his injured leg was holding them back, and with a sense of righteousness, he said, "I'll stay here. You guys go chase the girl and find a way to come back for me." His words made sense; as long as they caught up with the girl and found an exit, they could return for him. 0

Su Bei stayed behind. 0

Qin Keqing and Shen Binghan quickened their pace to pursue the girl. 0

The girl seemed to be deliberately teasing them. 0

When they ran fast, she ran fast; when they slowed down, she slowed down too. She maintained a certain distance, never allowing them to easily catch up. 0

They ran and ran, but suddenly the little girl vanished. 0

Panic set in for Qin Keqing, while Shen Binghan was furious and wanted to explode— 0

Shen Binghan spotted a graveyard and saw someone lying on the ground among the scattered trees. He exclaimed in surprise, "Look..." 0

From a distance, it looked very familiar. 0

Qin Keqing and Shen Binghan hurriedly rushed over. 0

They discovered that the person lying on the ground was Ye Chenfeng. 0

Ye Chenfeng was unconscious, his mouth smeared with some kind of residue, and there were traces of greenish liquid on his chin. His wrist was wrapped in a piece of red cloth. 0

"What is going on here?" 0

"Don't ask, let's quickly help him up and find Su Bei." 0

Qin Keqing and Shen Binghan helped Ye Chenfeng to his feet and retraced their steps to look for Su Bei. 0

After walking for a while, they became exhausted and had to take a break. Qin Keqing pulled out her phone to check for a signal, cursing under her breath, "Damn it, still no signal." Just last night, Sun Hong had been declared dead by someone, and she had tried to contact the outside world, but her phone had no signal, and there was none to be found anywhere. 0

Shen Binghan made a valid point. He said, "It's not surprising that there's no signal. Look around; aside from the electricity, there are no information towers. Anywhere without information towers is a blind spot." 0

"Damn it! I came out here looking for adventure, wanting something thrilling to play with. I thought after this expedition, we could start an adventure club. I would be the leader, Ye Chenfeng would be the ghost catcher, you could be the strategist, and Su Bei would handle the errands. But who would have thought it would turn out like this with so many issues arising?" 0

Shen Binghan seemed uninterested in Qin Keqing's words; he responded with something off-topic. "I think Ding Li has some unspoken troubles." 0

"Damn it, why are you bringing up that jerk at a time like this?" 0

Perhaps their conversation triggered something in someone else; Ye Chenfeng suddenly regained consciousness. The first thing he said upon opening his eyes was, "What jerk?" 0
