"I'm not sure about that..." Ding Li's cheeks instantly flushed, her body tensed up as she instinctively pulled her hand away from Ye Chenfeng's embrace. Slowly rising, she said, "We haven't reached that stage yet!" 0

Seeing Ding Li's nervousness made Ye Chenfeng smile. He loved the way she looked all shy and adorable. "Don't worry," he chuckled, "I'll be your guardian tonight. Just sleep soundly until dawn." 0

"Really?" Ding Li glanced at Ye Chenfeng's mischievous grin and thought to herself, Hmph, I don't believe your nonsense. Last time you snuck into bed with me; although nothing happened, if it weren't for the sudden situation, I might have already fallen into your trap. 0

Ye Chenfeng pouted and said, "If you show a little appreciation, I'd happily be your flower protector." 0

"Not a chance." Ding Li covered her mouth and declared, "I'm going to take a shower." 0

"Go ahead, go ahead, wash up nice and clean..." Ye Chenfeng grinned lewdly as he personally escorted Ding Li to the bathroom. 0

The sound of running water filled the air as Ding Li occasionally called out, "Ye Chenfeng." 0

Leaning against the door outside, Ye Chenfeng replied eagerly, "What do you need? Your ambassador is at your service." 0

Hearing his response, Ding Li hastened her washing. 0

Listening to the sound of water, it wasn't hard to imagine what it was like for her to bathe under the showerhead. 0

The clear water flowed down her fair skin glistening with moisture, tracing along her spine and curves before reaching hidden areas. The sensation of the flowing water made Ding Li's heart flutter. She extended her delicate fingers to wipe away the fog on the mirror. The steam had made her skin rosy and tender, almost fragile. 0

With a bashful face, she lowered her gaze to her flat abdomen. Looking further down made her shy; she quickly raised her hand to cover the mirror. Suddenly inspired, she thought of a three-point cover method that could conceal the most crucial parts while revealing others—a truly exquisite depiction of her form. 0

Just as she was lost in pleasant thoughts, she caught a glimpse of a pale face reflected in the mirror, startling her into a sharp scream. 0

On the other side, Ye Chenfeng was pondering over what he had seen when he heard Ding Li's scream. Without thinking twice, he kicked open the door and rushed inside. 0

Perhaps overwhelmed by shock, when Ding Li lunged toward Ye Chenfeng, she forgot that she was in the shower. 0

Ye Chenfeng caught Ding Li in his arms and suddenly realized he was holding an utterly beautiful figure completely bare. A rush of blood surged to his head as something began to drip from his nose. Meanwhile, Ding Li also became aware of their situation and quickly retreated to grab a towel to cover herself. Her face turned as red as a ripe apple as they locked eyes—each could feel the other's racing heartbeat and hear their disordered breaths in the close proximity. 0

Ye Chenfeng's breath quickened. As soon as she untied the towel that separated them, she would be his immediately. 0

Ding Li noticed Ye Chenfeng had a nosebleed, his eyes glinting with a frightening intensity as he stared at her intently. She hurriedly moved the towel to cover her upper body, but that only exposed her lower half, and when she covered that, her upper body was revealed. 0

Ye Chenfeng's blood boiled as he took a step closer. 0

Ding Li crouched down in fear, repeatedly saying, "Ye Chenfeng, don't! We haven't taken any precautions; we could get pregnant." As she shouted, she flailed her arms in vain. After a while of hoarse shouting, the bathroom remained silent; Ye Chenfeng did not pounce on her. 0

Ding Li stopped yelling and opened her eyes to look. 0

Ye Chenfeng bent down and buried his face deep in the basin filled with cold water. It was the only way he could calm himself from the primal urge surging within him. 0

"Ding Li," she called out timidly. 0

"Don't worry, you go ahead and wash! I'll step outside for a moment." Ye Chenfeng felt embarrassed facing Ding Li; he was still aroused, evident by the way it pressed against his pants, making it uncomfortable to walk. Without looking back, he left with his wet hair dripping water onto his collar, awkwardly making his way out. 0

Ding Li stared blankly as Ye Chenfeng left and closed the bathroom door behind him. Leaning against the door, she couldn't help but burst into tears. Just moments ago, if it weren't for Ye Chenfeng's rationality in handling the situation, perhaps a predatory wolf would have already taken advantage of her. 0

The truth was, she liked him. Why did she feel so scared when facing him? Ding Li questioned herself; perhaps it was because she was still too young. Soon, she would be going to college; she'd heard that college was like society and that one would learn many things there. 0

As Ye Chenfeng stepped outside, he hadn't even reached the door when he casually turned around and noticed that Grandma's door was ajar. 0

He remembered that the door had been locked when Grandma left. 0

Realizing something was off, his younger brother quietly slipped away. 0

Ye Chenfeng cautiously approached the door but didn't enter right away; instead, he observed from the side. Peering inside, he instinctively jumped back in shock and nearly shouted. 0

Inside the room stood Shen Binghan, smiling at him as if she had been waiting for his arrival. 0

Ye Chenfeng was uncertain; how could someone who had already died appear in Grandma's house? He tentatively took a couple of steps forward and asked, "Is that you, silly boy?" 0

Shen Binghan did not speak, slowly and stiffly raising his arm to point under the bed. 0

"You mean there's something under the bed?" 0

Shen Binghan remained silent, his eyes vacant and expressionless, like a shadow that had no substance. 0

Ye Chenfeng glanced under the bed and said, "Actually, there's nothing there, just some clutter." 0

Shen Binghan shook his head and suddenly shouted, "Go find Master." It was as if invisible hands pulled him away, and he vanished in an instant. 0

"Shen Binghan! Little Monk! You foolish boy!" Ye Chenfeng yelled, calling out in the room, reaching out as if trying to pull the disappearing Shen Binghan back. 0

His actions startled someone—Ding Li. 0

Ding Li felt guilty; the strange shadow she had seen earlier had scared her into screaming. When Ye Chenfeng rushed in, she had thrown herself into his arms. But that had nearly caused him to lose control, and he had to splash cold water on himself to regain his composure. 0

"Ye Chenfeng, who are you talking to? Don't scare me!" 0

Hearing Ding Li's voice, Ye Chenfeng was taken aback. "What are you doing here? Didn't you see him..." 0

"Who?" 0

"Nothing." Ye Chenfeng crouched down to look under the bed, which was still filled with various items. "You just took a shower; let me handle this. You should go rest in the other room!" 0

"The other room?" Ding Li disliked showering and changing clothes; she also had a habit of sleeping naked. The last time she was too tired to care and ended up not sleeping comfortably. Now that Ye Chenfeng was telling her to sleep, she wanted to confirm which room it was—preferably a safe place where she could sleep soundly until morning. 0

"Can you check my room?" Due to what had just happened, an unspoken change had occurred between Ye Chenfeng and Ding Li; they had become more polite with each other. 0

"Then where will you sleep?" 0

"In such a big house, are you worried I won't have a place to sleep? Just go rest, silly girl." Ye Chenfeng found it amusing yet not amusing at all. Was it because of Shen Binghan's sudden appearance and mysterious disappearance or something that happened in the bathroom? He couldn't quite tell. 0

Watching Ding Li leave, he bent down and began pulling out the items from under the bed. 0

He crawled inside, feeling along the previously identified hole, touching each part carefully. 0

Finally, he found the problematic area—a mass that blended in with the wall's color was blocking the cave, which was why he couldn't see it clearly. 0

Moreover, Ye Chenfeng noticed that the cave had become cleaner. 0

There were no abnormalities, no bones in sight; he slithered into the cave like a snake. 0

The cave was just big enough for one person; being too fat wouldn't work, and being too thin would make it feel empty. 0

Ye Chenfeng never expected that the landing point after descending into the cave would be an old house. 0

It was a small basement, housing a grotesque creature with a green face and sharp fangs. 0

This creature had long horns, arms hanging straight down, fingers that were not human but sharp claws, and its eyes glinted with malice. Just a glance sent chills down his spine. Ye Chenfeng picked up a piece of black silk from the ground and covered the creature, feeling a bit better inside. 0

At the same time, he spotted the missing book: The Ghost-Quaking Scripture. 0

"The Ghost-Quaking Scripture?" Ye Chenfeng grabbed The Ghost-Quaking Scripture. It seemed Shen Binghan wanted to tell him that this book was here. He held the book tightly when suddenly he heard a sound—tap-tap—like something was knocking against the lid. 0

The sound seemed to be coming from beneath the creature. 0

Ye Chenfeng cautiously crouched down to take a look; there was a large urn beneath it. 0

The urn was covered with red silk, and the sound was emanating from inside it. 0

Ye Chenfeng reached out to touch the urn; it felt cold. Surely there couldn't be anything inside! But why was there a noise? 0

As the saying goes, curiosity killed the cat. 0

Unable to feel anything, Ye Chenfeng decided to move it. He tilted the urn and pulled back the silk cloth, wanting to see if there might be a trapped mouse or something inside. Only a mouse would get stuck in such a place. His thoughts were firm, completely unprepared for what happened next: as he tilted the urn, a pool of thick, foul-smelling water spilled out. 0

The water was viscous and slimy— 0

"Wow!" Ye Chenfeng vomited, the contents of the large urn spilling onto the ground, a steady stream of black water flowing out. After a while, the water ran out, and everything fell silent. The stillness was so profound that he could hear his own heartbeat and the anxious fluttering in his chest. 0

If this large urn contained nothing but black water, how could there be any sound? 0

After waiting for a moment, Ye Chenfeng decided to leave. Just as he reached the entrance of the cave, a crisp sound echoed from the urn once more. 0

Human imagination is quite vivid. 0

Listening to the sound, Ye Chenfeng couldn't help but picture a mischievous child trapped inside the urn, their small hands slapping against the walls, creating that popping noise. 0

The thought was absurd, yet it startled him. 0

A hand emerged suddenly from the mouth of the urn—pale and white, like bleached pigskin. 0

What on earth is that? 0

Ye Chenfeng was taken aback, pressing his back against the cave entrance, feeling tense to the point where he could hardly breathe. He stared in shock as a figure slowly crawled out of the urn. 0

A modern-day Sadako!!! 0

Ye Chenfeng was so frightened that he felt his soul leave his body; he wanted to run! If he didn't escape soon, this modern-day Sadako would come for him. But his body refused to obey him, completely paralyzed with fear. 0
