Not only was Ding Li missing, but Little Monk Shen Binghan had also vanished. Ye Chenfeng found himself alone, as if he had entered a different space cut off from the world, feeling an overwhelming sense of loneliness and fear. Then, he began to hear strange sounds coming from all directions. 0

Amidst the harsh clang of metal striking, a voice that seemed gentle called out, "Ye Chenfeng... Ye Chenfeng, come! Come chase me." 0

"Who? Who's calling?" Ye Chenfeng shivered, his voice trembling as he asked. While speaking, he looked around in shock. 0

Ye Chenfeng realized that this place was not Men'er Gou Village; it was an unfamiliar environment that resembled the entrance of a school. 0

The entrance was quiet until suddenly a bright light flashed, and a figure pushing a cart appeared before him, heading straight towards him. 0

Who was she? 0

Ye Chenfeng struggled to recall but couldn't remember ever seeing her before. 0

As she approached him, her laughter rang like silver bells, and she asked, "Ye Chenfeng, you don't remember me?" 0

"Who are you?" 0

"It's Yao Xiaohong!" 0

Yao Xiaohong! Ye Chenfeng remembered seeing her face on a Missing Person Notice posted on a telephone pole outside the village. The girl before him radiated purity and beauty, full of youthful vitality, but there was a hint of melancholy in her eyes. 0

"Ye Chenfeng not only forgot you but also forgot me." 0

Suddenly, someone stepped out abruptly from behind Yao Xiaohong. 0

Ye Chenfeng gasped in surprise. "Su Bei." 0

Su Bei nodded with a smile and glanced at Yao Xiaohong, saying, "You can forget anyone, but you must not forget her." 0

Ye Chenfeng struggled to calm himself, thinking this must be a dream. He would wake up soon and everything would be fine. But then he recalled that he had been with Ding Li and Shen Binghan earlier; they should have been at Men'er Gou Village. 0

Seeing Ye Chenfeng's confused expression, completely out of sorts, Yao Xiaohong grew anxious. She dropped her bicycle and grabbed the bewildered Ye Chenfeng, pulling him toward the school. 0

The school was not unfamiliar to Ye Chenfeng, but in this moment, it felt particularly strange. 0

There were no sounds of students studying; it was eerily quiet. 0

Everything appeared gray and dull. 0

It had to be a dream. 0

Ye Chenfeng reassured himself once more. 0

Yao Xiaohong led Ye Chenfeng to the classroom door. 0

Inside the classroom, it was filled with students engaged in conversation. 0

"Stop pretending to be diligent; do you think just because you’ve moved to Xishan you’re not still a cow?" Ye Chenfeng saw a boy with a slung backpack, his provocative gaze directed at a classmate who had his back turned to them. From behind, Ye Chenfeng felt an unsettling familiarity with that figure. 0

The boy slammed his fist on the desk and shouted at the teacher who was organizing materials, "Li Teacher, someone is disturbing my peace; aren’t you going to do something about it?" 0

The teacher paused slightly, smiling as she replied, "Class is over; make sure to review your materials well. The high school entrance exam is very important for you." As the teacher left, the boy turned around, and from the side view, he looked exactly like Su Bei. 0

Ye Chenfeng was astonished; Yao Xiaohong had vanished from his side. 0

The classroom was filled with the sound of chatter and complaints as students stood up. 0

A boy with braided hair, handsome and well-groomed, walked over to Su Bei and playfully tapped him on the shoulder, saying, "Su Bei, are you brave enough to go biking for a hike..." He glanced over at a girl across the room who was packing her books. 0

Ye Chenfeng recognized the girl as Yao Xiaohong. 0

Su Bei ignored the provocation and quietly began to gather his books. 0

"You're scared, just admit you're a coward." 0

"I'm not a coward; you're the one who's a freak." Su Bei shot back with a disdainful expression as he left his desk. 0

The boy with braided hair was furious, his neck turning red as he shouted, "Damn it, don't say I'm straight; even if I were bent, I'd still be the dominant one, and always will be!" 0

Yao Xiaohong approached and winked at Su Bei. 0

Understanding each other perfectly, they left the classroom together. 0

On Yao Xiaohong's finger was a peculiar yet exquisite item—a Grass Ring! 0

This was a gift from Su Bei. 0

Ye Chenfeng shook his head as he watched Su Bei and Yao Xiaohong head towards a quiet area where few people ventured. 0

The boy with braided hair, seeing them leave, walked towards the row of bicycles parked nearby. 0

Ye Chenfeng noticed him squatting in front of one bike, pulling a wrench out of his backpack to tighten a screw on it. 0

"What do you see?" A cold hand suddenly rested on Ye Chenfeng's shoulder. In an instant, everything before him vanished, and he found himself once again in a dark, suffocating space. 0

The one asking was Su Bei. 0

His hand was so cold! On his finger was a Grass Ring. 0

At the same time, fleeting memories surfaced in Ye Chenfeng's mind. 0

He remembered that night at Grandma's House, the pair of hands shrouded in a massive shadow, each adorned with a Grass Ring. 0

Identical to the one on Su Bei's finger. 0

"I saw you in class," Ye Chenfeng said, feeling the chill creep over him as he shrank his neck, unwilling to look too long at Su Bei and Yao Xiaohong. 0

"He won't say anything," a chilling voice emerged from behind Ye Chenfeng, as if another person had detached itself from his shadow. 0

Their faces were pale. 0

Their eyes were filled with resentment and hatred. 0

Su Bei, Yao Xiaohong, and this sudden apparition all closed in on Ye Chenfeng. As they approached, Yao Xiaohong was no longer beautiful; her pale face bore bruises, with blood at the corners of her eyes, nostrils, and lips. 0

They were not human; they were ghosts! 0

The thought struck him like lightning, sending a wave of terror through Ye Chenfeng as he bolted away. 0

But no matter how fast he ran, their figures appeared before him, behind him, and to his sides. 0

In front of Ye Chenfeng, there was only one path. 0

On both sides of this path, white flowers bloomed abundantly, and many Red Butterflies danced gracefully on the petals. 0

Where there were Red Butterflies, there were heavily resentful spirits. 0

This was what Shen Binghan had told Ye Chenfeng. 0

He was startled and quickly retreated, only to find there was no way back. Behind him, three ghostly figures blocked his escape. 0

There was no retreat; he could only move forward. 0

The path ahead led to a place—the riverbank. 0

At the riverbank, water ghosts devoured people. His grandmother's voice echoed in Ye Chenfeng's ears, filling him with dread. He could imagine the appearance of the water ghosts as described by his grandmother. In a frenzy, he shouted, "Who are you? Why are you haunting me?" 0

"I am you, and you are me," Su Bei said with a sinister smile, stepping closer. 0

Yao Xiaohong's eyes were no longer black and white but a pool of blood-red. "Ye Chenfeng, the promise of happiness from the Grass Ring, we will be together for life." 0

"It's all your fault! If it weren't for you, we wouldn't have met such a tragic end." The last shadow finally revealed its true form—it was The Boy with Braided Hair. 0

"I don't even know you..." Ye Chenfeng struggled, shaking his head vigorously—shouting loudly, shaking his head as if it would truly help. 0

Su Bei disappeared, Yao Xiaohong vanished too, and The Boy with Braided Hair was gone as well. 0

Before him lay an empty space that filled him with panic. Suddenly—crack! The sound startled Ye Chenfeng so much that his scalp tingled. He saw not far from him what seemed to be a Big Cat tearing something apart. The sound of chewing was distinctly audible, and a faint scent of blood lingered in the air. 0

Ye Chenfeng saw the Big Cat, which was much larger than an ordinary house cat. 0

What was it eating? Ye Chenfeng cautiously approached. 0

The cat let out a warning growl and suddenly turned its head to look at him. 0

Startled! Upon seeing the face of the Big Cat, Ye Chenfeng couldn't help but gasp. 0

The Big Cat's eyes were like a pair of Green Glow lanterns, and its wide-open mouth was chewing on a severed human arm, blood staining its white fangs. 0

Even more terrifying was that this Big Cat walked like a human, its hind legs on the ground as it swaggered towards Ye Chenfeng. 0

Ye Chenfeng wanted to run, but his legs felt as heavy as lead and wouldn't move. 0

"Help... help..." 0

Ye Chenfeng cried out, waving his arms wildly. 0

Suddenly, a flash of golden light appeared, and Ye Chenfeng heard a voice calling out. 0

"Hey!" 0

Little Monk, Shen Binghan, and Ding Li looked on in shock at the frantic Ye Chenfeng, who was flailing about. 0

Just moments ago, Ye Chenfeng had seemed hysterical, running wildly without a care in the world. 0

Shen Binghan and Ding Li chased after him and managed to stop him just two meters away from the trees by the riverbank. 0

Ye Chenfeng had sprinted down the path, now fully awake. He was completely unaware of what had just happened, but under Shen Binghan's care, he struggled to recall the scenes he had witnessed. 0

"He has been possessed," Shen Binghan thought to himself, surprised that he hadn't discovered the source of Ye Chenfeng's possession earlier. 0

It seemed that the situation here was quite dire. 0

Ye Chenfeng mentioned the Big Cat. 0

A Big Cat walking like a human was truly frightening. 0

Ding Li was so scared that her hands and feet turned cold; she dared not speak or breathe deeply. 0

"What did the Big Cat look like?" Shen Binghan asked, instructing Ding Li to watch her step while pressing Ye Chenfeng for details about the strange events he had encountered. 0

"I couldn't see it clearly; I just saw it walking like a person, and I also saw it eating someone," Ye Chenfeng's voice trembled as if he had just returned from the Underworld, still haunted by the memories he was reluctant to recall. 0

Shen Binghan believed that Ye Chenfeng could see things they could not for one reason: he possessed something within him that ordinary people did not. This thing was called a genetic trait; since Ye Chenfeng's grandmother was a Medium, it was possible that he had inherited this ability. 0

Shen Binghan chose not to address this matter directly. 0

Ding Li, shaken by fear, seemed unwell and nearly stumbled several times. 0

In the end, Ye Chenfeng carried her as they hurried toward Grandma's House. 0

Grandma's house was enveloped in silence, with only a couple of distant whimpers from dogs that sounded strained. 0

Standing outside the Purple Bamboo Forest, before entering the narrow path, Ye Chenfeng shouted, "Grandma, Grandma, open the door!" 0

"Don't call out like that, something bad will happen." 0

Ye Chenfeng didn't care. He had just experienced something terrifying and now he really didn't dare to enter this narrow, dark path. At the end of the road was Grandma's House, specifically the Azure Tile House. 0

There were various flowers planted at the entrance. 0

Hibiscus, poppies, magnolias, and more. 0

The wind rustled the Purple Bamboo Leaves, creating a soft sound, while raindrops slid down the Purple Bamboo and dripped onto the ground. 0

One of Grandma's dark windows suddenly lit up, revealing a hunched silhouette. After a series of old coughs, the door creaked open. 0

The Beard Dog lazily barked; its bark sounded somewhat weak and listless. 0

Seeing the light, Ye Chenfeng felt invigorated and hurriedly picked up Ding Li, striding forward with determination. 0

Shen Binghan followed closely behind, unable to resist glancing into the dark depths of the Purple Bamboo Forest on either side of the path. He felt as if cold eyes were lurking within the shadows of the Purple Bamboo. 0
