Chapter 71: Teasing the Girl 0

"Ma Qi, don't embarrass me. Buying an Electric Vehicle? Seriously? You could at least think of something better. Let's buy some drinks and a Yamaha instead, it shows class and status, which suits you perfectly." 0

"Where's the money?" 0

"Don't worry about money with me. Why buy some junk? You're going there to work, not to drive around in a car." 0

"Brother Qi, just buy it! Which one do you like? If you don't have the money, there are others who do. Just pick up the car and take off; all I ask is for a meal later." This girl has issues; she's a wretch who forgets her name when she sees a handsome guy. Her inherent flirtation gives me goosebumps. I'm someone who aims for big things; how can I be distracted by her? 0

It's best to keep my insults to myself today since I came to seek her advice. Despite my disdain, I feigned admiration and looked at her, "Beautiful lady, let's not talk about cars. How do you know to call me Brother Qi?" 0

"Oh, well, Peng Hai calls you Brother Qi, so I remembered." 0

"Oh, may I ask your name?" 0

"Look at you! Brother Qi, I don't like fancy stuff; just call me Shi Lu." 0

Shi Lu, what a dead-end name! I cursed inwardly but forced a smile and said, "Shi Lu, that's a lovely name; it suits you beautifully." 0

Shi Lu coyly asked, "Really? Am I really beautiful?" 0

"Yes, very beautiful." 0

"Oh, really beautiful! But Brother Qi has never paid attention to me." Just as she spoke, a man walked in. He was big and burly with a thick neck and limbs, his face was bloated and rough-skinned, and he had a potbelly. He stood at the door with his hands in his pockets, looking skeptical as he called out, "Shi Lu, where are we eating lunch today?" 0

"Lao Lei, why are you here? There's still a buyer around!" Shi Lu had quite the skill in flirting; just moments ago she was throwing me flirtatious glances and now she was acting coy with this man. Wait a minute; this man looks familiar. Upon closer inspection, I suddenly realized he was Reid Long, Wei Min's husband. 0

"Do I know you?" Reid Long squinted, lifting his eyelids as he thought for a moment, then chuckled, "You're Ma Qi from Ma Wu Funeral Home?" 0

"Yes, Boss Lei has a good memory." 0

"Are you buying a car?" 0

"I have that intention." I observed Reid Long closely; his expression was clouded, his Yintang dark, and his gaze vacant. I couldn't help but calculate in my mind and realized what was going on. 0

"What are you looking at?" Reid Long noticed me staring intently and felt uneasy, asking as he turned to leave. 0

"Wait, Boss Lei. You have clouds over your head, your Yintang is dark, your gaze is vacant, your lips are cracked and tongue scorched. Your Primordial Spirit is scattered; you've been having nightmares lately, your stocks are down—everything is going wrong." 0

Reid Long looked surprised by my words, studying me seriously with a foolish expression as if about to speak. Shi Lu, eager to send him away, chimed in with a playful tone, "Oh dear, our boss is doing just fine! Surrounded by beautiful women—truly a man in high spirits during a Happy Event! As the groom, changing brides every night! If you’re not well, where’s the problem? Don’t delay the boss’s work." She leaned closer to Reid Long, lowering her voice seductively, "Darling, come pick me up later; I’ll finish this deal first." 0

However, Reid Long didn’t seem inclined to leave immediately; he appeared to believe my words. "Lulu, stop messing around. I need to talk to Ma Qi about something. You go do your thing." He shot me a glance as he led me into the back room. 0

The Bridgehead car dealership was a two-story building. 0

I knew they had someone guarding the place at night. Shi Lu left in the evening, and Boss Lei hadn’t shown his face after dark. From what I could see, I really didn’t know the true nature of Shi Lu’s relationship with Boss Lei. 0

As we climbed the stairs to the second floor, someone rushed down from above. Dressed exactly like Boss Lei and upon closer inspection, looking just like him too. I was about to approach when Boss Lei smiled at me and said, "We’ve arrived." 0

A mirror clone? I had heard of mirror clones but had never seen one before; only my grandfather had told me about it. Generally, people cannot see their own clones; however, if a mirror clone appears, it usually means that person doesn’t have long to live! 0

I followed him without showing any signs of surprise. When I turned back to look for the person who had just come down, they had already vanished. Moreover, this clone was strange; I hadn’t even heard the sound of footsteps. 0

In the blink of an eye, I found myself in Boss Lei's upstairs residence. Three of his fingers were adorned with diamond rings, and the key was a combination lock designed for security. It seemed this boss was indeed wealthy. Only the rich needed to worry about theft; those without money had nothing worth stealing, let alone the funds to buy expensive security doors. 0

Upon entering the room, I was struck by how much it felt like a home—luxurious decor, crystal chandeliers, and fragrant wallpaper. Being in such a place made me feel somewhat out of place, yet I boldly plopped down on the three-person sofa, sinking into it so deeply that it startled me. 0

"Ma Qi, do you understand physiognomy?" 0

"I know a little. What can I do for you, Boss?" 0

"Do you think Shi Lu and I have a couple's resemblance?" Hearing this made me mentally curse; an old cow eating tender grass would only leave behind bones. It would be best if he were dead. However, I couldn't voice these thoughts. It was clear he cared deeply for Shi Lu; if I told him they weren't compatible, he would surely become furious. In that case, not only would I fail to gather information from him, but I might also find myself thrown out. It would be difficult to approach him for help in the future. 0

"Oh, you two are simply a perfect match." I forced out those insincere words while my eyes caught a glimpse of Boss Lei looking smug and proud. To my surprise, I noticed dark energy hovering above his head at that moment, and simultaneously, there was a sound coming from the bedroom. 0

I turned toward the source of the noise as the door opened, revealing Boss Lei himself. I cleared my throat, but he walked right past me as if I were invisible and headed straight for the door. The real Boss Lei seemed lost in thought about my earlier comment regarding their compatibility. 0

Looking around the room, I noticed there were no wedding photos of him and that Lulu person; instead, the walls were adorned with famous forgeries. Among them was a version of "Along the River During the Qingming Festival," which looked somewhat realistic at first glance but would be immediately recognized as a forgery by any expert. Seeing me admire his so-called masterpieces, he couldn't help but cough with pride and said, "You like calligraphy and paintings? These were all bought at high-priced auctions; they're worth a fortune." 0

"Oh." I didn't expose his paintings as fakes; it didn't seem necessary to offend someone who was nearing death. 0

Returning to the topic at hand, Boss Lei brought up his previous question again: "Master Ma, do Lulu and I really make a perfect match?" 0

"They're indeed quite compatible. Boss, may I ask how your first wife is doing now?" 0

"She passed away many years ago from a serious illness." 0

"Oh. Do you have any children?" 0

"No." 0

"Can you give me her birth date? I can help you calculate." 0

Boss Lei's expression turned extremely unnatural when I asked for Ex-Wife's birth date. "Is that really necessary? She's dead, and it doesn't have much to do with me, does it?" 0

"It is necessary. Your current financial situation is likely related to your wife. Although she has passed away, her leftover wealth could affect you. If that wealth runs out, your luck may very well decline." 0

"Youth, don't scare me. If I hadn't seen the connection between what you just said and my recent experiences, I wouldn't have invited you upstairs to discuss this. Also, the fact that I dared to invite you here shows that I don't believe in superstitions, so those tricks won't work on me; I'm immune." 0

"Boss Lei's confidence is commendable, but overconfidence can be detrimental. Since you don't believe in superstitions, there's no need for me to elaborate further. I'll leave it at that; I have other matters to attend to." 0

I stood up and walked toward the door. 0

Boss Lei took a sip of red wine slowly, savoring it, his playful gaze fixed on me without any words of retention. I looked at him, but my focus was actually on the woman who had appeared before me countless times—Boss Lei's First Wife—standing right behind him with her hands raised high. 0
