Chapter 5: First Love 0

"Brother Qi, what's wrong? It's me, Mi. Look at me..." Mi took off her clothes, revealing skin as pure as jade and other enticing features that made my heart race. I quickly stepped back; this wasn't Mi. The more she tried to captivate me and hold onto me, the more I doubted she was truly my Mi. 0

My Mi was as innocent as a glass of plain water, pure and enchanting, never so frivolous as to strip and smile seductively in front of anyone. 0

When Mi realized I saw through her disguise, her true form emerged—a boyish figure, but it was Shadow. I couldn't make out his facial features clearly, yet his voice was unmistakably harsh: "Ma Qi, you can't be fooled this easily. It seems you really have some skills." With that, Shadow vanished, leaving me alone in the space. 0

I looked around; everywhere were withered Ghostly Flowers. It was a desolate world, cold winds swirling around me, creating an atmosphere of utter bleakness. As I took a step back, I unexpectedly stepped into emptiness. Before I could react, I felt myself falling—falling— 0

Then my whole body jolted awake to the sound of clapping and shouting: "Brother Qi! Wake up! Brother Qi! Wake up!" I exhaled deeply, feeling as if I were still in a coffin. When I opened my eyes, everything was dark, but I could faintly hear Mi's voice calling out. 0

I pushed up with my hands, and with a loud clatter, the coffin lid opened. Mi looked anxious and tense; upon seeing me, she rushed forward and hugged me tightly while pounding on my shoulders: "Brother Qi! You scared me! I've been calling for so long without any response!" 0

"It's okay, it's okay... I'm fine. See? I'm perfectly alright," I reassured her as I embraced her back. We held each other tightly; I was still standing in the coffin while Mi looked like she might cry. I playfully pinched her nose: "You don't expect me to stay like this forever, do you?" 0

"Sorry about that." 0

Mi quickly stepped aside as I climbed out of the coffin and asked her, "Is there any news from the hospital?" 0

"The hospital has no updates. Zhu Gang called; it's strange—his father's body seems to have changed significantly. If you have time, you should go take a look." 0

How could there be no news from the hospital? 0

In confusion, I recalled what I had seen while lying in the coffin. Li Gui was dead; who was that Evil Sorcerer impersonating Mi? They seemed younger somehow. This person must be connected to Li Gui; otherwise, they wouldn't have appeared out of nowhere like this. 0

Fortunately, the Ghostly Flower had already withered. This young Evil Sorcerer, no matter how powerful he was, could not revive such a vast expanse of Ghostly Flowers. Without the Ghostly Flowers, he could not open the Hell Gate and could not release more malevolent Evil Spirits. 0

From this, it was clear that I had some time to do good deeds. 0

Once I buried those who had passed, it would be time for me to marry Mi. Then, in a year or so, we would have a chubby baby. I was determined to treat my child well and would never be like my own Wretches, who selfishly abandoned their child to fend for itself in this world. 0

I absolutely could not leave Mi alone at the Funeral Home; I had to keep her by my side no matter what. 0

Going to a funeral was always an ominous affair, especially at night when the Yin Qi was particularly heavy. So before stepping out, I tied a protective charm with Red String and hung it around her neck, ensuring that even if any evil entities tried to disturb her, they would not succeed. 0

The road was deserted and eerily quiet, with only the cold wind blowing. Mi sat behind me, wrapping her arms around my waist and pressing her face against my back, making it warm yet ticklish. At that moment, our sweet whispers were surely unheard by anyone. 0

I grinned mischievously and asked, “Mi, do you love me?” 0

“Mm.” 0

“If we were together, would you get used to sharing a bed?” 0

“Brother Qi, you’re so naughty.” Mi's face flushed red as she playfully scolded me; her warm cheeks pressed against my back felt quite nice. 0

“Brother Qi isn’t naughty; would you love me?” 0

“Brother Qi, stop it.” 0

"Mi, is it bumpy?" 0

"No." 0

"After we finish tonight, how about we make love?" 0

"Brother Qi, please don't do this." 0

"Alright, I won't." 0

A moment of silence followed, only the sound of the car's engine humming. In the distance, a dog barked, and occasionally, a household could be seen watching television, the cold green glow of the screen seeping through the window. As they turned a corner, they heard a child crying; an adult's voice called out, and the crying grew louder. 0

"Mi, how many kids do we want in the future?" 0

"Just one! Having more would be troublesome." 0

"Okay, we'll have one that looks half like you and half like me." 0

"That won't work. If it's half like you and half like me, wouldn't that be a monster?" 0

"What are you thinking? I'm talking about looks; what are you thinking about?" 0

Mi burst into a fit of giggles, her grip loosening for a moment, leaving her back feeling suddenly cool. 0

"Don't laugh, there's a draft on my back, it's cold." 0

"Huh?" 0

"Where is it cold?" 0

"Where?" 0

"You'll know if you touch it." I said it deliberately, with Mi behind me; her hand would feel nice. 0

Mi tried to reach out and touch the middle of my back. I wasn't expecting that. She hurriedly moved her hand down, and I almost reacted. She tentatively reached to the left, and I shifted away. She was puzzled and paused to ask, "Where is Brother Qi?" In the midst of her words, her hand inadvertently rested on my backside for a brief moment. I shivered as if jolted by electricity, and she quickly asked, "Brother Qi, you're so cold you're shaking." 0

"I can't help it; I've blocked all the wind, so it's cold. Just hold me tighter." 0

Mi didn't say anything but showed me through her actions that this was tight enough! Being embraced around the waist by her delicate hands was a unique kind of enjoyment. Sometimes I envied Western countries where men and women could be so casual and free with each other—hugging and cuddling was completely normal. But in our country, such behavior was often seen as morally corrupt. 0

As the noise of the motorcycle mixed with my jumbled thoughts, we traveled along the main road at a speed that satisfied me. Soon enough, I saw the lights of Zhu Gang's house. Due to a recent bereavement in the family, all the houses around had their lights off, except for theirs, which shone brightly with a hundred-watt bulb—especially glaring in the darkness. 0

When we arrived at Zhu Gang's house, Mi refused to go inside. "Brother Qi, I don't want to see dead people; can I wait outside?" 0

"Don't you know there are things even less reliable than dead people? Aren't you afraid something might suddenly appear..." 0

"Forget it; I'll just go in with you." 0

I walked to the door with Mi and took off my helmet. Before we even entered, I saw Zhu Gang already coming out. 0

"Master Ma, you're here?" 0

I nodded and introduced, "This is my wife, Mi." 0

"Mi, hi, it's good to see you, old classmate." 0

"You two know each other?" 0

"We're old classmates; you didn't know that? Hahaha!" There was something a bit off about Zhu Gang's laughter, and his gaze towards Mi felt strange. 0

As Zhu Gang walked ahead, I quietly asked Mi, "Is he your first love?" 0
