**Chapter 06: End of the Demon Realm (Part Three)**
The meal deliverers had arrived. The Decayed Village was hosting a Happy Event today, so they wouldn't do anything to me. Besides, I would still have to work in the fields tomorrow. Moreover, everyone in the village was likely at the wedding, which meant that this brightly lit house was probably empty.
With such a fortunate thought, I felt there was nothing to fear and cautiously made my way toward the light. Just as I approached the source of the illumination, I suddenly spotted two tall, thin figures lurking about.
I hid in the shadows, using the flickering light to see that these two figures were dressed in an exceptionally bizarre manner.
One wore a pointed hat and held a stick that was no ordinary stick; it had something furry on it, resembling a spirit summoning banner.
The other held an iron pen and a ledger.
The two sneaky figures were conversing, and I held my breath, gathering my courage to get closer.
"Brother, are you really going to meet your Daughter-in-law tonight? Is it for real?"
"It is! The Decayed Village is hosting a Happy Event tonight. He'll take this chance to meet his wife while we catch him and send him to the master. Let's see what happens."
These two were capturing people? Their direction was indeed toward the source of the light. As I observed their movements, I couldn't help but gasp; they weren't walking—they were floating.
Ghostly Enforcers!
Indeed, they were the deadly Ghostly Enforcers.
I had no idea who they were talking about, but it sounded somewhat irrational. It seemed like a wrongful death incident was about to occur.
In this context, wrongful death referred to souls being forcibly taken by the Underworld's Ghostly Enforcers before their natural lifespan had ended. This led to numerous unjust deaths and wrongful death incidents in the Underworld.
In the Underworld, there are many absurd and frustrating things happening.
Corruption and bribery exist in the Underworld as well; in short, with a vast forest, all kinds of birds can be found.
I could tell that the Two Ghost Messengers were not good people, so I followed them closely, eager to seize the opportunity to show off my skills.
Strangely enough, as I followed them, I lost track of the Two Ghost Messengers.
Before me stood a shabby shack, its walls made of mud mixed with straw. Soft whispers drifted from a window that let out a warm glow; the voices were gentle and pleasant. I couldn't see the Two Ghost Messengers, so I approached the window directly and poked a hole in the paper covering it with my finger.
Through the hole in the paper window, I could clearly see inside. A man and a woman were nestled together, engaged in intimate activities.
"Ying..."
The man was barely clothed, his head buried deep between the woman's ample bosom, his body moving rhythmically. The woman seemed to be enjoying herself, her lips curled into a slight smile, eyes closed, lost in ecstasy. Her hands clutched at the sheet beneath them, which was wrinkled beyond recognition. It was more vivid than any adult film; my face flushed and heart raced. Just as I was about to look away, I suddenly noticed two more figures had appeared in what had seemed like an intimate space for just the two of them.
Two figures clad entirely in black with fierce expressions emerged, radiating an aura of menace that startled the couple.
The man remained unfazed and quickly shielded the woman, demanding to know what business they had.
What the hell.
Wasn't this man the one who had confronted me in the dungeon about my name? Who was he? Facing the Two Ghost Messengers, he showed no signs of fear but instead glared at them defiantly.
Confused and uncertain, I chose to remain still and observe quietly.
The woman quickly dressed under the protection of the strange man. Before she could even get off the bed, there came a loud knocking at the door from another direction, followed by a wave of Deathly Aura surging into the room.
The situation in the bedroom had changed dramatically.
The two figures dressed in black, the Ghostly Enforcers, along with that strange person, had vanished, leaving behind a disheveled Qin Shuying. The very person who had been involved in shameful acts with her had abandoned her and fled.
What puzzled me was not just the scandalous affair between Qin Shuying and that strange man, but the dramatic turn of events that unfolded. Sister Qin and her husband were brought in, bound tightly by ropes, and the person leading them carried a bag.
I recognized that bag; it was the one I used to carry the snake.
"Today's Happy Event has turned into a funeral. So many people have died; we can't store anything and can only watch it rot away. This is all due to the Qin family's obsession with the Monster. If we can't catch the Monster, we can at least catch her."
What was going on? Who was this Monster? Was it the snake I had brought in?
Amid my confusion, everyone present began to shout loudly, "Burn them! Burn them!"
Seeing this made me furious, and I impulsively wanted to save Qin Shuying.
Then someone pushed another person into the room, and I was taken aback.
Wasn't she the one who appeared in my dreams, warning me—Yu?
"We can't let immoral women live. Bring that Villain here and burn her too." The order came from a man who had previously seemed timid and submissive after his cattle grazed on Sister Qin's family's grass. Now he stood tall and righteous, holding a torch as he recounted the crimes of the Qin family.
Someone was dispatched to capture this so-called Villain. I wondered if they meant me. There was no time to ponder; I continued watching, eager to uncover the truth behind this incident—what could have caused everyone in Qin Family Village to turn against them like this? If necessary, I would unleash my ultimate move; saving even one person would be worth it.
Inside the room, Qin Shuying trembled in fear. Her mother was powerless, her mouth stuffed with cloth so she couldn't speak, only able to gaze tearfully at her beloved daughter.
"Please, don't! Have my parents ever wronged you? In this year of disaster, they opened their doors wide and distributed food from our home to you all. Whenever someone was in trouble, my mother was always the first to help... You can't blame my dad just because today's Happy Event has turned into a funeral..."
“Girl, take a good look. You are still an unmarried young lady, and look at your belly; it’s been three to five months, hasn’t it?” I hid in the shadows, listening to the comings and goings of people. I saw someone whispering to the one giving orders, who then turned to Shan Ji Ge, who had been silent all along, and said, “The Villain has escaped. What do you think, Shan Ji Ge?”
I was staring at Qin Shuying’s belly.
I didn’t notice it until now, and it shocked me. Her belly was indeed quite large; perhaps it was because her clothes were too tight. When she came to talk to me before, I hadn’t paid attention to her belly.
“Be honest; who is that hidden man?” This time it was Shan Ji Ge speaking. He clenched his fists tightly, the knuckles cracking ominously, looking very angry as he glared at Qin Shuying.
Qin Shuying curled up into a ball, her pale face and anxious eyes scanning the room aimlessly. She trembled as she said, “There’s no one; I don’t know what happened.”
“Don’t know? The Three Bandits witnessed you getting cozy with a blood-red snake on the bed and now you’re pregnant. This is all because of your entanglement with the Monster. Your parents are suffering because of you. Take this dead Girl out and burn her.”
Shan Ji Ge turned away. I could see a hint of reluctance in his eyes, as if he had special feelings for Qin Shuying.
