Chapter 096: Dead Loop (Part Four) 0

"Is it true that Chiang had an abnormal experience that night when he got home, and now Lin Tai is like this?" I gently traced my fingers over the diary, which was filled with doodles and chaotic sketches lacking any clear outlines. I quickly lost interest and handed the diary to Chi Xinrong. 0

Chi Xinrong took a moment to consider how to respond to my question. When she received the diary, her movements were slightly slow. Han Mi glanced at us through the rearview mirror and reminded us, "We're about to turn into Ma Wu Funeral Home." 0

My home was so close yet felt so far away. 0

Just as we were about to get out of the car, the fat guy woke up. He opened his eyes with a feigned expression of admiration, incessantly praising Han Mi and Chi Xinrong for their taste, saying that the clothes they bought for me looked great and made me even more handsome. "Why do I smell acetic acid?" I asked. 0

"Haha, what are you talking about?" The fat guy pretended to sniff like a dog, causing both girls to burst into laughter. 0

The car came to a stop. 0

I gazed longingly at the sign of Ma Wu Funeral Home. This was my second time being driven away, and now I was returning once more. 0

Clearly, I had been chased away, yet there were those with ulterior motives who twisted the truth, claiming I left on my own. Doubts lingered in my mind, but it also felt surreal. How did I manage to run so far? Alone would be one thing, but I had brought a rice bag with me. Was it possible that I truly experienced hallucinations or delusions? Or was it due to Supernatural Growth causing random changes in my body? My abilities seemed advanced; what I accomplished couldn't be done by an ordinary person. For instance, getting somewhere wasn't just about walking step by step—it was more than that. I looked down at my feet, caked in mud, my entire body dusty and disheveled. My skin had returned to normal without any other unusual phenomena present. 0

It felt good to be home. 0

The first thing I wanted to do upon returning home was to take a long nap. However, before sleeping, I hopped on my old motorcycle and personally took Han Mi back home. Being embraced from behind by delicate hands made me feel warm inside. 0

On the way, Mi's emotions fluctuated; she worried that her parents would blame her. I reassured her that everything would be fine. Once Chiang's situation was resolved, I would use all my savings to marry her and bring her into my home—she would become the mistress of Ma Wu Funeral Home. 0

This idea sounded good, but it felt premature for me to say such things before fully understanding the fat guy's psychological state. 0

When I decided to marry her, it was clear that my words piqued Mi's interest. She smiled brightly and said, "I'll wait for you." 0

I went to Han Mi's place, expecting to be scolded. To my surprise, she managed to pacify her furious parents with just a few words. In the end, they politely saw me off, and my worries turned out to be completely unnecessary. The thought that Mi would soon become my Ma Qi's wife made my heart dance with joy once again. 0

As the car sped up, the wind billowed my clothes, and I felt as if I were gliding through the air, light and carefree. 0

Upon returning to the Funeral Home, Chi Xinrong was still there. My mind was preoccupied with the matter of the Soul Stone, leaving me indifferent to everything else—except for Han Mi. I didn't want to talk about anything else. 0

But when I saw her, I remembered another task: I needed to charge my phone and disable the tracking system she had set up for me. 0

The third thing would have to wait until after I had a good sleep. 0

Unfortunately, Chi Xinrong was too persistent. While I tried to sleep, she kept babbling on beside me. 0

"Ma Qi, when are you going to my Uncle's house?" 0

"Stop it; I want to sleep." 0

"What do you mean sleep? Get up!" 0

With a swift motion, she yanked the entire blanket off me. Luckily, I was wearing shorts; otherwise, it would have been embarrassing. I clung tightly to the blanket, trying to wrest it back from her while cursing, "Chi Xinrong, who do you think you are? How dare you just pull off my blanket like that? If I were dressed..." 0

Chi Xinrong crossed her arms and scoffed, "What's the big deal? It's just a little extra something for peeing. Don't think I haven't seen one before; once, I almost pulled off the neighbor boy's!" 0

"Wow!" I gave her a thumbs up and smacked my lips in admiration. "You're impressive, I'm scared of you. But can you let me sleep for a bit before anything else?" 0

"I'll give you Ma Qi, but the Ghost Festival is coming up, so you need to hurry." 0

She wouldn't give me the blanket, so I had no choice but to curl up on the bed, hugging my arms. 0

Chi Xinrong was truly a force to be reckoned with. Seeing me like this, she grabbed the blanket without hesitation and yanked it hard. Damn! That girl had some serious strength; she pulled me and the blanket right off the bed. 0

"Chi Xinrong, get out! I can't do anything if I haven't rested properly." Since becoming a mortician, I had never encountered anyone like Chi Xinrong. It made me appreciate Han Mi even more. 0

She was gentle and graceful, possessing both outer beauty and inner charm. All the virtues of women seemed to be concentrated in Han Mi, while all the flaws were embodied by Chi Xinrong. I was truly amazed; I had encountered two women in this world who were absolutely unique—one with no equal. 0

This couldn't go on; I couldn't keep being tossed around like this and achieve nothing. 0

I couldn't sleep or work; I had to get Chi Xinrong out of here. 0

I rolled up my sleeves, bared my teeth, and mustered all my strength. Before she could unleash her fury, I swiftly pushed her out and locked the door behind me, ignoring her as she pounded on it from outside. 0

I pulled the blanket over myself tightly and stuffed paper wads in my ears. This reduced the noise interference, allowing me to finally sleep peacefully. Lying in my own bed felt so comfortable; my body relaxed, stress melted away, and an incredibly soothing sensation took me into dreamland. 0

In my dream, there was desolation—corpses, blood, and crumbling walls. A howling three-legged wild dog cried out while crows perched on bare branches, their eyes fixed on me, a living person in this empty world. 0

Caw— 0

A call echoed, and more Crows flew in from all directions, their intentions far from friendly. A girl appeared, as if she had sprouted from the ground, so Pure and flawless, dressed in a white dress, amidst the swirling darkness. 0

Another piercing caw rang out, and my heart sank as I saw the mass of Crows diving toward the girl. I shouted, waving my arms in an attempt to drive them away from her, but my efforts were futile; the flock was too powerful, nearly drowning me and my voice. 0

I ran frantically toward the girl, repeatedly shouting, "No." After a few calls, the Crows continued to circle down, surrounding her. I realized my mistake; these were our Chinese Crows, and they would understand Chinese. "Don't! Don't!" 0

As I got closer, the startled Crows took flight, and the girl stood unharmed before me. She was beautiful—big eyes, a delicate nose, and lips. Although she didn’t show any gratitude for my presence, I could see she was smiling. 0

It was a smile hidden deep within her heart. 0

Then she turned and walked away in the opposite direction. 0

With a whoosh, all the circling Crows followed her closely behind. Were they escorting her? 0

Suddenly, an ominous feeling washed over me. The Crows in my grandfather's dreams were an ill omen, signifying that many would die. I approached the girl and began to run, pushing myself harder as she raised her arm to command the dark mass of Crows moving in one direction. 0

She wasn’t walking very fast, yet no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t catch up. 0

Evil spirits blocking my path! 0

Was the girl an evil spirit? With her angelic appearance and pure face, it was unimaginable that she could be one. I wanted to struggle, to run, to tell her: I'm here to guide you; go where you need to go! 0

In my confusion, a slender finger like a green onion lightly tapped me. The dreamlike scene vanished as my thoughts gradually focused. Suddenly jolted awake, I realized I had just taken a short nap filled with nightmares? Slowly opening my eyes, I saw Han Mi. I smiled and tilted my head, beckoning her with my hand. "When did you arrive?" 0

"Just now." 0

"Is Chi Xinrong still around?" 0

"Chi Xinrong?" She smiled playfully. "I didn't see her." 0

Mi stared at me with a half-smile, then leaned down, her lips very close. I was startled—why did she like using her tongue so much? I laughed, "You've got something on your face." 0

"I'm not afraid of getting dirty." Mi said, then casually lay down beside me, her smooth, slender legs skillfully wrapping around my waist, leaving me unable to move. My breathing quickened, blood surged through me, and as my body reacted, I felt as if Mi had completely transformed into someone else. How could she be so proactive? 0

In the cave, it was me who took the initiative. 0

Mi made another move, and I wasn't used to her being like this. I firmly grasped her hand and rolled over. With a shake of my body, I truly woke up this time; there was no Mi, just the lingering sensation of being pressed down. Instinctively, I reached up to touch my face and felt a sticky substance that was slick to the touch. 0
