I was startled and quickly stepped back a few paces. However, the female corpse followed me closely, like a shadow. The jade pendant around my neck radiated warmth once more, blocking her advance. With the protection of the pendant, I managed to calm down. 0

I reached out and gently touched her hair. The corpse seemed frightened by the jade pendant and retreated hastily. "Don't be afraid, I'm here to help you," I said, gesturing with the pendant towards her. 0

The corpse stared blankly at the pendant, fear evident on her face. But soon, her expression shifted to one of confusion. I waved my hand, signaling her to come closer. After a moment of hesitation, she cautiously floated towards me. 0

"Can you understand me? I need to take you out of here," I continued gesturing. The corpse looked at me with a puzzled expression. I patiently repeated my gestures several times. Finally, it seemed she understood my intent. She slowly nodded and then pointed at her own face. 0

Looking at her colorless visage, I began to comprehend. "You mean you don't like how you look right now?" I touched my own face and made a cute expression before shaking my head while pointing at her face. The corpse finally nodded in agreement. 0

So she felt that dying had left her looking unpresentable and unable to face others. As I pondered how to express that modern makeup techniques could help her appear more lifelike, she suddenly began to sink slowly into the water. 0

Panicking, I reached out to grab her, but only managed to pull away a piece of fabric from her clothing. She sank quickly, disappearing from sight in an instant. I stared blankly at the spot where she had vanished, unsure of what to do next. 0

My breath was running out; it was time to return for now. I scratched my head and surfaced. 0

"How did it go?" my grandfather asked anxiously. 0

"Just a little more," I shook my head. 0

I briefly explained the situation to him. 0

"What are we going to do now?" he said, his brow furrowed in concern. 0

"It's fine, I have a way," I said with a slight smile as I took out the piece of cloth. 0

Then I pulled out the dagger I always carried and made a small cut on my finger. 0

"What are you doing?" Grandpa's expression changed drastically. 0

"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing," I replied with a grin. 0

With the blood from my finger, I drew a simple talisman on the white cloth. 0

"This is... the Soul Guiding Banner?" Grandpa's eyes widened in shock. 0

"How do you know this?" 0

"Hehe, I learned it secretly," I made a face at him. 0

The Soul Guiding Banner was an entry-level skill for Grave Robbers. As long as there were relics of the deceased, the Soul Guiding Banner could be used to summon their souls. The reason Grandpa hadn't used this method before was that he didn't have any relics from a female corpse. But I did! 0

Finally, the female corpse was retrieved. 0

Back at the shore, the village chief's son spoke anxiously, "My dad just called and said that woman came back to the village this morning." 0

"What else did your dad say?" Grandpa asked hurriedly. 0

"He just mentioned that woman was at my house, and then the call suddenly dropped!" The village chief's son looked pale. 0

"This is bad; we need to hurry back!" Grandpa's face turned serious. 0

The three of us worked together to lift the female corpse onto the vehicle. Then we sped off towards home. 0

As we arrived at our doorstep, we saw a large crowd gathered outside. 0

"This is not good; there's been a fight!" The village chief's son exclaimed, his face turning white as he rushed into the crowd. 0

Grandpa and I followed closely behind him. As we squeezed into the throng, we spotted that woman from last time standing in our yard, shouting at the village women. 0

"You bunch of shameless hags, hand over my daughter's body right now!" She stood with her hands on her hips, exuding arrogance. 0

The women in the village glared at the woman, but none dared to approach. Behind her stood a man. He was nearly six and a half feet tall, with a robust build, dressed entirely in black. A black cloth wrapped around his head, leaving only a pair of murky eyes visible. Although his face was obscured, the aura he exuded made it clear that he was not to be underestimated. 0

“Yin Corpse Sect?” Grandfather's expression turned serious. 0

“It seems I was right; this woman is indeed from the Yin Corpse Sect!” 0

“Grandfather, what is the Yin Corpse Sect?” I asked curiously. 0

“The Yin Corpse Sect is a very evil cult,” Grandfather replied slowly. “Their members specialize in creating Corpse Puppets.” 0

“Corpse Puppet?” I gasped. 0

“Indeed. They bury corpses in the Corpse Raising Ground and use secret methods to refine them into Corpse Puppets,” Grandfather nodded. “If I’m not mistaken, this man should be one of the Corpse Puppets she has created!” 0

At his words, a chill ran down my spine. I scrutinized the man closely and noticed that his black clothing seemed to be wrapped around him with strips of black cloth. His feet were together, and when he walked, it resembled the motion of pedaling a bicycle. 0

“It seems this woman intends to turn her daughter’s corpse into a Corpse Puppet!” Grandfather said gravely. 0
