It is said that this is a magical artifact used to restrain the Corpse Puppet. 0

The whip cracked against the skin with a soft "pop." The red string snapped, and the copper coin embedded deeply into my brother's flesh. A hissing sound filled the air as the areas struck by the whip immediately split open, revealing raw, bloody flesh. The skin rolled back, releasing a wave of foul odor. That whip had actually penetrated into his bones. 0

Black smoke began to rise from my brother's body as he howled in pain, stumbling backward. With each step he took, a deep blood footprint was left on the ground. Grandfather lashed out with the whip again and again, striking my brother until he was backed up against the door. But the whip was growing shorter with each strike, until only a palm-sized piece remained. 0

"Run!" Grandfather shouted, positioning himself in front of me. I struggled to get up from the ground and stumbled toward the exit. But I had barely taken a few steps when I heard a dull thud behind me. I turned to see my brother had caught up to Grandfather and kicked him to the ground. 0

Before Grandfather could rise, my brother had already lifted his foot and placed it on Grandfather's chest. Grandfather let out a gasp as blood spewed from his mouth. Yet he still managed to raise his hand and shove the copper coin under my brother's foot. 0

Black smoke erupted from beneath my brother's foot, causing him to quickly lift it away. Seizing this opportunity, Grandfather rolled over and got back on his feet. 0

"Run!" He positioned himself between me and my brother, shouting at me once more. My eyes stung with tears, and I was too choked up to respond. 0

"Run now!" Grandfather yelled again. 0

This time, his voice was clearly filled with urgency. 0

I gritted my teeth and turned to run towards the door. 0

"Trying to leave?" 0

My brother sneered, striding after me with long steps. 0

He was fast, catching up to me in the blink of an eye. 0

A gust of foul wind hit me, and I felt a heavy slap on my back. 0

I was thrown forward uncontrollably and crashed hard onto the ground. 0

Before I could react, my brother's foot was already pressing down on my chest. 0

He bent down, grabbing my neck and lifting me up. 0

I struggled desperately, kicking my legs wildly, but I couldn't break free at all. 0

My brother opened his mouth wide, ready to bite into my neck. 0

"Beast!" 0

A furious shout rang out. 0

Grandfather stood in front of me. 0

He extended his arm, blocking the space between me and my brother. 0

My brother sank his teeth into Grandfather's arm, tearing away a large chunk of flesh. 0

Blood splattered all over my face. 0

I watched in horror as my heart seemed to stop beating. 0

"Grand... grandfather..." 0

Grandfather gritted his teeth and pulled two steel needles from his pocket, forcefully stabbing them into my brother's knee and shoulder blade. 0

With two soft thuds, my brother released his grip and staggered back repeatedly. 0

His facial muscles twisted grotesquely, his eyes bulging out, nostrils flaring wide as he gasped for breath. 0

He stared intently at Grandpa, his shoulders and knees trembling uncontrollably, unable to take another step forward. 0

Grandpa pressed down on his shoulder, forcing him to the ground, and shouted at me, "The jade pendant! Press it against his forehead!" 0

Snapping out of my shock, I quickly retrieved the jade pendant and pressed it against my brother's brow. 0

"Roar!" 0

My brother let out a painful howl, his veins bulging, eyes bloodshot. 0

Black smoke began to seep from his mouth, hissing ominously. 0

A strong, foul odor filled the air, and I couldn't help but wrinkle my nose in disgust. 0

"Hold on! You can only stop when I say so!" Grandpa yelled at me. 0

I gritted my teeth, fighting back the nausea, and held the jade pendant firmly in place. 0

It wasn't until Grandpa told me, "Alright," that I finally released my grip. 0

At that moment, my brother lay on the ground, eyes wide open in a fierce expression. 0

A circular ancient pattern had been burned into his forehead. 0
