Once the palace of Kesha, it was now occupied by Death God Karl. Ever since he conspired with Morgana to execute the plan to assassinate Kesha, he had not made any significant moves, instead choosing to remain here like a recluse.
Documenting his observations and experiences while traversing the universe and exploring civilizations was not tedious for him; he had been doing this for countless years and remained committed to evolving the civilizations across the cosmos.
However, there were always those who chose to intrude unwisely.
"My lord, the old god Hua Ye wishes to see you!" reported Karl's capable assistant, who had once released Soton.
Karl frowned slightly at the mention of Hua Ye. "Hua Ye? That's a god who is rather difficult to communicate with."
"He hopes to open a wormhole directly here to meet you," the assistant added.
Karl relaxed his brow and said slowly, "Then let’s open the wormhole. I’m curious about what he wants."
As Hua Ye made his way to meet Karl, in Huaxia North Star, the capital of Huaxia was under constant attack from Tao Tie. Three emissaries were working together to deal with the elusive Tao Tie ships.
In the North Star battle zone, a discussion about the emissaries was underway.
"These emissary warriors are formidable. Over the past six months, they have destroyed at least 18 Tao Tie battleships. Meanwhile, we have only managed to take down one using suicide attacks," said General Huang, the head of the North Star battle zone, looking despondent. It wasn't just due to their lack of combat power; it was also because so many warriors had sacrificed their lives. How many brave souls from Huaxia had given their lives for their country? Yet they still could not stop Tao Tie.
Glen exchanged a glance with Zhi Xin, who had come with him. Zhi Xin spoke up, "Since communication among the emissaries has failed due to Holy Kaisa's demise, some wandering emissaries have indeed remained on Earth."
"These emissaries have helped us a lot, and some have sacrificed themselves for us. I once saw one cut down by an enemy. We tried to help her, but she refused; I could feel her disdain for us."
"Emissaries tend to hold a sense of pride and superiority over civilizations they consider inferior. Even I do. No matter how brave you are, you play little role in the war between emissaries and demons."
Zhi Xin's words were somewhat harsh but undeniably true. Noticing the expressions on their faces and realizing she had misspoken, she quickly changed the subject. "According to your earlier description, their temporary leader should be Make Cold; I just wonder who else among her sisters is with her."
With a deafening explosion, a Tao Tie battleship was destroyed.
The three emissaries were thrown into the air by the shockwave of the blast and only stabilized after landing on top of a building moments later.
"You two are really useless, no wonder you're second-generation warriors."
With her golden ponytail swaying, Make Cold looked disdainfully at her two companions. Even among her own kind, she maintained a sense of superiority that came with being a first-generation warrior.
The other two warriors fell silent; after all, they had no retort against their own shortcomings.
"Well, seeing your expressions is quite frustrating. I don't understand what makes that new Queen so special that you would come running here to guard her!"
"After all, this is the new Queen's order," one of the blonde-haired warriors countered.
"But that doesn't justify sacrificing warriors to protect humans! Let me ask you, Lingxi, would you be willing to sacrifice yourself for humanity?" Make Cold asked with a cold smile.
After a moment of hesitation, Lingxi shook her head. "While I admire their bravery, it's not worth it."
"Exactly!" Make Cold shrugged. "That's why I don't want to hear any of Shiyan's nonsense orders."
Just as Lingxi couldn't help but frown, a figure suddenly appeared in the sky. "Since when did being a warrior mean fighting for humans?"
Make Cold frowned in annoyance but was taken aback upon recognizing the newcomer. "Master?!"
The visitor was Ruoning, once a left-wing guard and now Hua Ye's most capable assistant.
Lingxi and the other warrior instinctively drew their weapons, with Lingxi asking, "Who is this elder warrior?"
"Tell your Lao Luo to put away her weapon!" Ruoning said coldly.
To avoid conflict, Make Cold quickly gestured for the two to lower their weapons. "Quickly, put them away."
Reluctantly, Lingxi and the other warrior sheathed their weapons as Ruoning continued calmly, "I'm here to ask you how you feel about Shiyan becoming the new Queen. Are you willing to accept it?"
"Do you want to hear the truth?" Make Cold smiled slightly. "To be honest, I don't accept it. That girl is even less capable than I am, not to mention she lacks the temperament to be Queen."
"If you don't accept it, then why not choose to resist?" Ruoning asked again.
This time, Make Cold remained silent. It was another warrior who responded. "You have no right to disrespect Holy Kaisa's will. Shiyan becoming the new Queen is Holy Kaisa's decree; on what grounds do you question it?"
Ruoning ignored her and turned to Make Cold, asking, "What about you? Do you think the same?"
"Master, to be honest, although I am not in favor of Shiyan becoming the new Queen, she is right. This is the will of Holy Kaisa, and as servants, we must obey Kesha's wishes." Make Cold's expression was resolute, which surprised both Lingxi.
"I used to be a left-wing guard, and I have always been loyal to the will of Holy Kaisa. However, back then, Queen Kaisa made some mistakes that allowed that girl Yan to become the heir. I came here to correct that mistake!"
Hearing Ruoning's words, Make Cold couldn't help but chuckle. "Master, honestly, you make me look down on you. If this turns into a power struggle, then what does it mean to be a servant?"
"So, do you want to become a sacrifice under the new order?" Ruoning's expression gradually turned cold.
At that moment, it seemed that a battle was about to erupt.
The Sword of the Envoy appeared, and the air began to fill with the scent of gunpowder. Suddenly, a cough broke the tense atmosphere, making it feel strange. "Although I really don't want to interrupt you all, I owe a favor to someone, so I can't just stand by and watch you kill them."
