Perhaps this was the last time Xiong Bing Lian would gather together.
As they looked at each other, an unspoken thought emerged in their minds.
"What are you all standing around for? We need to get ready to leave," Reina said as she walked into the lounge, her demeanor as casual as ever, as if what they were about to do posed no difficulty at all.
Glen hesitated for a moment before asking, "Sister Reina, will we be able to come back alive this time?"
Everyone turned their gaze to Reina, hoping she would wave her hand dismissively and assure them that this mission would be easy, just like usual.
But contrary to their expectations, Reina fell silent. After a while, she self-deprecatingly said, "I don't know if we can succeed this time. Honestly, even I am not omnipotent."
Taking a deep breath, she shifted her tone. "But if we don't try our best, then the entire world will cease to exist. We are the last hope."
Glen fell silent at her words, and after a moment of quiet reflection, he managed a faint smile. "Why does it feel so heavy just to breathe?"
No one laughed at him because they all felt the same way. Yet it was this very statement that gradually dissipated the previously tense atmosphere.
Death was not frightening; what was truly terrifying was dying without any value. Now, as humanity's last line of defense, if they did not strive for success, the ultimate outcome would be the extinction of humankind.
Even though humans were selfish by nature, they could not ignore their families. If it were you, would you prefer to survive in this hell on earth or take a chance to fight for a future for yourself and your loved ones?
"Why be afraid of them? They'll die too; it's not like we haven't killed before," Liu Chuang's bravado surfaced at that moment. Among Xiong Bing Lian, he had the most courage.
For the first time, Qilin did not scold Liu Chuang, because he was right.
Feeling the morale gradually returning, a glimmer of relief flashed in Reina's eyes. Yet deep down, she felt more guilt than anything else; they should have been living peaceful and happy lives instead of being dragged into this chaos by her.
Her gaze swept over everyone and landed on Shasha, who remained silent in the corner—someone who originally had nothing to do with this matter.
As everyone left the lounge, Shasha did not rise. Reina slowly walked over to him and softly said, "Perhaps this time someone among us will sacrifice themselves, but I hope that person is not you."
Without waiting for Shasha to respond, she hurried away.
Watching her back, Shasha was stunned. Perhaps even a fool could hear the concern and affection in her words? But could he respond? It wasn't that he had no feelings for Reina, but ultimately, he would have to leave.
If the Marvel Universe didn't involve emotions due to his own restraint, then this world was destined for separation.
Taking a deep breath, he cleared his mind. This mission had to be completed!

Since everyone was acting separately this time, their entry into Giant Gorge City was not together. They had already split up at Giant Gorge, naturally to avoid detection by Tao Tie.
In Shasha's group were only Soton and Shiyan. Strictly speaking, Soton didn’t really belong to Xiong Bing Lian. Thus, there was an implication of allowing him to act independently.
This was just right; if he were with others, would he save them if something happened? At least there would be no burdens dragging him down.
The journey was silent, and infiltrating Giant Gorge City went quite smoothly. Besides Shasha's own infiltration skills, Soton and Shiyan each had their methods; after all, one was a Super Gene Warrior and the other a user.
At the city's edge, the guard presence was minimal, as if they were deliberately ignoring it or perhaps luring others into an ambush.
From a distance, looking at the location of the Command Ship, Shasha's expression grew serious. "That’s the International Mansion."
"169 transport ships, 4 Great Cross Ships, and 1 Command Ship; this is just one-tenth of Tao Tie's invading force." At this point, Shiyan sneered. "That Shi Ao really values Divine River Gene warriors!"
Shi Ao was the leader of the Tao Tie Civilization and the overall commander of this invasion of Earth, a loyal dog of Death God Karl.
Shasha did not doubt the numbers that Shiyan mentioned; after all, her eyes were like a quantum data Analyzer.
"We are currently at the port of Giant Gorge City, about 6 kilometers from the International Mansion. There are bound to be heavily guarded checkpoints along the way, so a direct assault is impossible. We can only infiltrate."
Shasha sighed. This was the first time he had encountered such a tricky problem. Infiltration was not like other tasks; the technology of the Tao Tie Civilization included countless monitoring, detection devices, and radar systems capable of detecting biological movement or heat signatures. The difficulty of infiltration was undoubtedly increasing geometrically.
Just then, three Mechanical Gluttons from the Patrol Team flew overhead.
Shasha's heart stirred, and he exchanged a knowing glance with Soton, who understood and quietly approached the Patrol Team.
Shiyan watched this unfold, puzzled. "Isn't taking out the Patrol Team going to alert others?"
Shasha merely smiled mysteriously in response. "You'll find out soon enough."
