When Shasha arrived, the scene was one of confrontation, with two sides facing off and no sign of Tony and his group.
It appeared that Tessa's side had the numerical advantage with four members, but in reality, the White Queen's strength was unmatched. To put it bluntly, the White Queen alone could easily sweep away Tessa's four, not to mention the presence of Card King and Warren.
"Where is Selene? Bring her to me!" the White Queen said coldly.
"Queen has important matters to attend to and has instructed us to entertain you all," Tessa replied with a smile, seemingly unfazed, as if she were not the one at a disadvantage.
The White Queen narrowed her eyes. "You are not worthy. If you don't want Selene to collect your corpses, bring her out now."
This was a clear sign that she was ready to fight; she was determined to eliminate the Black Queen once and for all, and this was an opportunity.
However, Tessa had been ordered to stall them, so there was no way she would let the White Queen have her way.
"I'm afraid we will disappoint the White Queen. Please allow us to 'overestimate ourselves' for a moment!"
As soon as she finished speaking, Robert unleashed a burst of solar energy. Even in the darkness, he could absorb light energy.
Everyone dodged except for the White Queen, who stood her ground. Her skin instantly transformed into incredibly hard diamond, absorbing the solar energy until it became powerless as if extinguished by her grip.
"Attack!!"
Charging forward towards Tessa's group, cards flew from behind him and exploded before reaching them. Flame Star soared into the air, but a white wing swept through, causing it to crash down.
At that moment, the White Queen lunged forward, unleashing a mental storm upon the fallen Flame Star.
In the next instant, Flame Star suddenly surged into flames and charged towards Damon.
"This is bad; it's the White Queen's mental ability!" Tessa exclaimed in alarm. "Steady your minds; otherwise, we will fall under her control!"
With Flame Star now under control, the situation shifted dramatically. Flame Star ensnared Damon while Robert and Tessa engaged in battle with Card King and his companion. Once the White Queen intervened in the fight, they would be unable to withstand her power.
Not far away, Rogers watched the two sides clash with a contemplative expression, Nick's instructions echoing in his mind from before he left.
"Your mission is not to favor either side; remember the intel given to you by the insider!"
Just moments ago, he had already figured out who the insider was, and a new thought crossed his mind.
"West District, several miles, beneath the Sphinx."
Pulling himself out of his thoughts, Rogers signaled to Tony and Peter, who were engrossed in the commotion. The three figures melted into the night.
Such movements could hardly escape the notice of Shasha, who possessed Daredevil's super senses. Watching the trio depart, he made no unnecessary moves, fully aware that there must be a backup plan from Black Queen lurking there. As they prepared to clear the area, he only needed to resolve matters here before moving in to reap the benefits.
Seeing Tessa and her team on the verge of defeat, Shasha pondered for a moment before deciding to intervene.
This action was not meant to assist anyone; regardless of which side emerged victorious, it was not his desire. What he hoped for was mutual destruction!
As he burst forth from his sandy hiding spot, Shasha had already transformed into Liquid Snake, enveloped in Destroyer Armor.
With Vibration amplified by the armor, its intensity instantly knocked Flame Star unconscious.
The sudden turn of events left everyone stunned. Without losing momentum, Shasha pressed down on the dazed Card King's head and slammed it hard against the ground. This swift action jolted both sides awake.
Both factions turned their attention toward the newcomer but were caught off guard; even though Shasha's face was completely covered by armor, his transformation into Liquid Snake made him unrecognizable to anyone.
"Who are you?" The White Queen squinted her eyes, a hint of barely concealed hostility evident. She was ready to strike if she received an unsatisfactory answer; she believed Tessa shared her thoughts.
Shasha understood that she was questioning whether he was friend or foe. He shrugged nonchalantly and replied, "I believe my actions have already made my intentions clear, haven't they? Why ask when you already know?"
The White Queen exchanged glances with Tessa; at that moment, their opinions aligned surprisingly well—eliminate this person first!
Just then, Robert and Damon joined forces to unleash a terrifying surge of energy that vaporized the sand in an instant.
Boom!
The energy impact of the Destroyer Armor lasted a full minute before Robert and Damon finally stopped, panting heavily.
Energy is different from other things; while it isn't too difficult to replenish one minute's worth, finding a source for that replenishment in the moment is another matter. The previous strike had drained all the energy from their bodies, aimed at a single lethal blow.
However, as the dust settled and the gravel fell to the ground, the armor shimmered under the moonlight, appearing completely unscathed.
At that moment, everyone stood frozen. The figure in mid-air suddenly changed direction and flew off into the distance.
The White Queen did not speak but fixed her gaze intently on Shasha, her expression unusually grim. Now she found herself isolated, and even Tessa beside her had no one to rely on.
At this time, Shasha slowly approached the remaining four. Just as the White Queen was about to enter her diamond state, unexpectedly, under Tessa's instruction, Damon used the last bit of energy in his body to perform a spatial transfer for them.
Staring at the empty sandy ground before her, Shasha stood still for a moment before bursting into laughter. "They still have some strength left; well, they must have reached the statue by now. It's time to reel them in."
