Just as Shasha had suspected, when Card King informed White Queen of Asazuo's death, the fierce female warrior, who never concealed her emotions, was filled with rage.
"Damn it! After finally capturing Asazuo, I thought we could extract some useful information through torture. But now he's dead—what information can we get? We've already alerted them; those bastards must have hidden away somewhere."
After her fury subsided, White Queen gradually regained her composure. She pondered for a moment before suddenly saying, "What if he already knew something? Did he kill to keep the information to himself?"
Card King was taken aback by her words. Concern often leads to confusion; he hadn't considered this angle before. Now that he thought about it, there seemed to be a possibility. He whispered, "Should we send a few people to monitor them?"
White Queen nodded and then shook her head. "No need. You should move with them and try not to reveal your suspicions. Act as if nothing has happened."
Card King nodded, his mind flashing to Anna's figure.
Anna had received Shasha's instructions before entering the Interrogation Room and had staged a performance. She had interacted with Asazuo and pretended to be injured by his mental assault, leading to her fainting. In reality, she had already grasped the general information.
Unfolding the map, Anna searched with her eyes until she finally fixed on a location in Egypt. She pointed to a spot near the Sphinx. "According to what I gathered from that person's memories, the approximate location is right here."
Felicia was taken aback. "Do they not know the exact location?"
"It seems Black Queen trusts no one but herself," Shasha said with a slight smirk, gaining a new understanding of Black Queen's vigilance and meticulousness. With Asazuo's incident, she would undoubtedly have prepared countermeasures.
"Now we need to find where the statue is located. This is Egypt; it could only be in a few places."
"Shall we go now?" Felicia appeared somewhat impatient.
Shasha thought for a moment and slowly shook her head. "We wait for Card King."
"Why?" Felicia asked in surprise, not understanding Shasha's intention.
"If we leave now, wouldn't that clearly indicate our suspicions? I suspect White Queen will have Card King act as if nothing has happened and continue to approach us."
As soon as the words fell, a knock echoed from outside the room.
Felicia and Anna exchanged glances, both surprised by what they saw in each other's eyes.
Felicia rushed to open the door, and her gaze fell upon Card King's face, which bore a hint of apology. She couldn't help but admire Shasha inwardly.
"I'm sorry, I was too impulsive earlier," Card King said, lowering his previously arrogant demeanor and looking genuinely remorseful.
Shasha smirked internally but maintained a calm exterior. "No need to worry. Even if we were to interrogate Asazuo relentlessly, we wouldn't get anything out of him. That guy definitely won't reveal any useful information easily."
Nodding on the surface, she secretly scoffed at this sentiment; in Card King's eyes, there were no such hard nuts to crack.
Looking around and not seeing Anna, he curiously asked, "Where's Sister Anna?"
Shasha gave him a strange look before pointing toward the lounge. "She's still recovering. Asazuo's mental abilities have drained her energy a bit. She'll be fine after some rest."
Card King nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over him.
This action made Shasha think of another matter. In the original timeline, Card King and the Demoness were a couple. It was surprising that now, with Anna's future altered, Card King could fall for her at first sight. The power of correction was indeed formidable; did this mean she was destined to become an enemy of Card King?
Shaking her head, she temporarily buried this thought deep within her mind. She certainly wouldn't tell Card King about matters concerning Egypt. Thus, she maintained an appearance of letting him take the lead while her mind wandered elsewhere.
After defeating Asazuo, the Villain Reputation Store naturally updated with several of Asazuo's abilities. Aside from those abilities that Shasha hadn't purchased yet—such as Lizard Doctor's genes, Big Shot's powers, and Storm's abilities—there were also Magneto's powers that couldn't be exchanged due to insufficient villain points. The rest were either already exchanged or were among Asazuo's abilities.
It was strange; why was it strange? Because when defeating a hero or villain, the abilities that appeared in the Villain Reputation Store would be random. However, if your ability was singular, then only that specific ability would appear—and it would be quite expensive.
For example, Daredevil had not only super sensory abilities but also impressive combat skills; yet only his super sensory ability emerged from the Villain Reputation Store. But all of Asazuo's abilities appeared—what did that signify?
If you choose to kill instead of defeat, you can gain all the abilities of this guy!
At this thought, Shasha suddenly became curious about the System. What kind of existence was it? It could provide abilities but also required one to collect them. Was it actually incomplete?
Shaking her head slowly, she decided not to think about the System for now. The abilities available were quite good, each valued at around 000 points of villain value. However, she only had about 5000 points in stock, enough to buy two. But she wanted to purchase Magneto's abilities, so she could only let these abilities sit for a while.
Shasha was troubled by her insufficient points to exchange for abilities, while the Black Queen was distressed over her inability to resurrect Asazuo. Asazuo had always been her best choice for gathering intelligence and as an assassin. But now he was dead, and there wasn't even a body left; he had reportedly been reduced to a puddle of blood, meaning there was no trace of his existence left—not even a single cell.
With their manpower already limited, they were now down to four people. Who would have thought that the White Queen would also have experts on her side?
Fortunately, the Ritual was about to be completed soon, and her wish would be realized. At that point, she wouldn't care about anyone else's fate.
"I really want to see what the world was like a thousand years ago."
