Through the single-pane window outside the Interrogation Room, Shasha watched as several interrogators questioned Asazuo, shaking her head repeatedly.
But it wasn't as he had thought before. Even if they caught him, it would be of no use.
She cast a sidelong glance at the pale-faced Card King beside her. His plans had all fallen through; he simply hadn't considered everything thoroughly.
"Damn it! Why is he so tight-lipped? I can't get anything out of him!" Card King muttered under his breath before leaving the interrogation room in silence.
Once he was gone, Felicia stepped forward and quietly asked, "What do we do now?"
"Their inability doesn't mean I can't do anything," Shasha replied with a faint smile, a figure flashing through her mind.
Before long, an unfamiliar figure arrived at the location.
Card King, who was outside smoking a cigarette, stepped forward to block the newcomer. He looked the girl up and down, and an uncontrollable glimmer of something unusual rose in his eyes. The serious expression on his face suddenly softened.
"This lady, this isn't a place for you."
Although the girl sensed something odd in his gaze, she didn't take it to heart and merely smiled slightly. "I was sent here by the gentleman."
"Gentleman?" Card King was taken aback, unsure who this gentleman was. Wanting to engage the girl in conversation, he asked, "Can you tell me his name? Perhaps I know the gentleman you're talking about."
The girl simply smiled and remained silent. She was no longer the innocent person she once was; how could she not see through his attempts at flirting?
Unexpectedly, Card King seemed oblivious to her growing impatience and continued to seek conversation. Just as her patience began to wear thin, a voice that made her smile brightly rang out: "Anna!"
Hearing that name, Card King's smile froze. The girl brushed past him, leaving behind a fragrant scent. That smile captivated him, but it wasn't meant for him. Slightly turning her head, she glanced at Shasha, who was laughing with Anna, and a hint of jealousy flashed in Card King's eyes.
'Her name is Anna? What a lovely name.'
The No Card Emperor leaned against the door, his gaze drifting over the two with a hint of curiosity, while deep down he was unsure of what to think.
Shasha had no time to ponder others' thoughts; his purpose in calling Anna was to uncover Asazuo's secrets.
As Anna stepped into the Interrogation Room, Shasha hadn't even spoken yet when the Card King asked curiously, "Is this lady a master of interrogation?"
Shasha shook his head. "She has a very special ability."
Felicia shot a glance at Shasha before turning her attention back to Anna. She noticed that Anna didn't make any unnecessary movements; she simply tapped Asazuo on the forehead and then stood still in place.
After a moment, the Card King expressed concern, "What if something happened to her?"
Shasha's brow furrowed slowly. Just as he was about to intervene, Anna suddenly collapsed to the ground.
The three of them changed color instantly and rushed into the Interrogation Room. Shasha picked up Anna and shook her gently, trying to rouse her, but she showed no signs of waking.
"What did you bastard do to her?" The Card King grabbed Asazuo by the collar, his face twisted in anger.
Asazuo laughed mockingly. "You think you can extract my secrets using mutant abilities? Don't you know I understand mental powers too? Want to know Black Queen's secret? Dream on!"
"You!!" The Card King's face darkened with rage as he raised his hand, ready to punch Asazuo.
Just as he was about to strike, he felt someone tugging at him from behind. Turning around, he saw Shasha with a grim expression, staring intently at Asazuo. Understanding the cue, he reluctantly released his grip.
Asazuo slumped back into his seat, facing Shasha's approach without a hint of fear, a cold smile plastered on his face.
"Don't think that just because you have secrets I won't do whatever it takes to get information from you. If necessary, I won't rely on you for anything."
The icy tone caused Asazuo's expression to shift slightly. Just as he was about to make another sarcastic remark, he suddenly felt Shasha's hand pressing down on his head. In the next moment, a subtle vibration began to emanate, gradually intensifying over time.
Asazuo's complexion finally changed, but at that moment, his body began to swell, and he felt an increasing sensation of rupture and fragmentation within him. His breathing and vocal cords suffered severe damage.
Finally, there was a loud 'bang.'
Card King and Felicia stared wide-eyed as Asazuo transformed into a mist of blood scattered in the air.
"Are you insane?! We went through so much trouble to capture this guy, and you just killed him like that?" Card King questioned Shasha with a look of shock and anger.
Unfazed by the accusation, Shasha silently picked up Anna. If it weren't for his intention to use Anna's abilities to extract information from Asazuo, this situation wouldn't have occurred.
Just as Shasha was about to leave, Card King, with a dark expression, blocked his path again. "Aren't you going to give an explanation?"
"Explanation for what?" Shasha replied coolly, glancing at him. "I'll explain once Anna wakes up."
Card King wanted to stop him again, but this time Felicia prevented him from doing so, leaving him helplessly watching the two depart.
"I will inform White Queen about this!!"
Hearing the shout behind them, a flicker of worry crossed Felicia's eyes. "You were too impulsive. Why did you kill Asazuo like that? What if White Queen misunderstands and thinks you don't want him to reveal secrets about Black Queen?"
"Do you trust White Queen?" Shasha sneered. "What do you think they captured these key figures of Black Queen for?"
"Of course, to find out the whereabouts of the statue," Felicia answered matter-of-factly.
"Then what happens after we ask?" Shasha sneered even more. "She is a greedy woman, and when I revealed the statue's purpose, it was obvious she wanted to claim it for herself. Just think about her desire for power; how do you think she would use that statue?"
"But didn't you say that aside from the Black Queen, no one else can use it?" Felicia looked confused.
Shasha sighed. "Mine must be served by someone who worships the Evil God. So do you really think the White Queen wouldn't do that?"
Felicia's expression finally changed. "So you're saying that now we not only have to face the Black Queen as our enemy?"
"Our goal is to destroy the statue, while the White Queen's goal is to seize it. From the moment she sent the Card King among us, we have already become enemies rather than friends," Shasha lamented, her face serious.
Felicia suddenly understood; Shasha was actually making a point. But what about this girl named Anna?
Thinking of this, she looked again, but where was Anna in Shasha's arms?
Just then, she felt someone pat her shoulder. Felicia turned around and saw Anna smiling and waving at her.
