"This clearly indicates they have arrived!" Nick's face was exceptionally serious at that moment. He took this matter very seriously because it concerned not only America but also the safety of the entire world—billions of lives were at stake.
Were these extraterrestrial civilizations friends or foes? What were their intentions? These were questions he desperately wanted answered.
Upon hearing this, Tony broke from his usual nonchalant demeanor and adopted a serious expression. "What exactly are you trying to say? Are you asking us to fight against those aliens?"
"Yes and no," Nick teased, feeling a sense of admiration for Tony, who was just like his father. Although this father-son duo seemed carefree and frivolous in their behavior, they would never shy away from significant matters.
"Enough with the riddles; let's get to the point."
From Nick's words thus far, Shasha understood what he was leading up to. Knowing that various civilizations would soon come to Earth seeking refuge, she realized Nick had only one purpose for coming here.
"The Avengers!"
Shasha thought to herself that indeed, how could this guy not involve Tony? It turned out he really intended to form the Avengers. It seemed that Mjolnir's appearance had instilled a sense of crisis in him.
"The Avengers? What is that?" Tony asked with a puzzled expression.
"The organization that belongs solely to S.H.I.E.L.D. was established through joint decision-making by the highest council and the president, responsible for Earth's defense," Nick explained what S.H.I.E.L.D. was.
Hearing this, Tony expressed his interest, saying, "Oh, is this an invitation for us to fight aliens? But what can you offer us? Don't blame me for being practical; after all, I'm not someone with a selfless spirit."
When it came to joining the organization or collaborating, his shrewdness as a businessman shone through. While he could contribute to the world, why not pursue something that would benefit himself?
Shasha remained silent, merely looking at Nick to see what he had in mind.
"By joining the Avengers, you will have access to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s top-secret projects and be able to review some materials within your permission range." At this point, Nick paused and added, "Of course, you can also make some requests, like what you need."
Just as Tony was about to speak, Shasha pulled him back. He looked at Shasha in confusion but quickly understood as Shasha shook his head. Realizing Shasha's meaning, he fell silent.
Shasha remarked playfully, "The key isn't what we need; it's about what you have."
"While I can't guarantee that S.H.I.E.L.D. has everything, at least we possess things that you might need and are generally not available elsewhere. For example, Eiterman Alloy, Sound-Absorbing Steel, or Vibranium?" Nick gave Shasha a meaningful glance.
At these words, Shasha's heart skipped a beat as he couldn't help but exchange a surprised look with Tony; they both recognized the excitement in each other's eyes.
If you were to ask which metals in the Marvel universe were the hardest or had special properties, without a doubt, it would be Adamantium, Sound-Absorbing Steel, and Vibranium. The items made from these materials proved their worth.
For instance, Wolverine's skeleton and Captain America's shield.
Tony, well-versed in metals, craved these three materials even more since his abilities stemmed from weapons made of them. He couldn't help but wonder how it would be if his suit were made from Adamantium.
Just as Tony was lost in thought, Shasha suddenly said, "Let's take some time to consider this matter; at least for now, we cannot give you a response."
Nick nodded, "Then I'll come back in three days, at the same time."
After Nick left, Tony couldn't help but wonder, "Did you not hear the conditions that guy laid out? What is there to consider? If we could access S.H.I.E.L.D.'s research data, many of the problems that have been bothering me would be easily resolved. And those three metals—don't tell me you're not envious? Don't you want to forge a suitable weapon? Although you already have that thing, what is it called again? The Chinese sword?"
"You're way too easy to bribe," Shasha shrugged helplessly.
It had to be admitted that the conditions Nick offered were quite generous. In the original world, when Tony was recruited, he didn't mention any conditions, and neither did the other heroes.
Perhaps with Shasha being such a variable, Nick changed his strategy.
But this was a good thing. It seemed that Tony was irreversibly entering the Avengers. What about herself? Should she join?
Thinking about her unwillingness to be manipulated, Shasha shook her head.
