The most helpless feeling in the world is when I stand before you, yet you fail to recognize me.
Since I chose to utilize my current identity, Shasha naturally would not easily reveal himself. Faced with his old friend Erika, who had shared hardships with him, he gritted his teeth and decisively struck.
In this exchange, Shasha realized one thing: Stick Sage had taught them a set of combined techniques. The two worked together with remarkable skill, momentarily leaving him flustered.
Shasha quickly steadied his footing. After briefly pushing the two back, he focused his gaze and prepared to engage again, trying to find a flaw in their combined technique.
The combined technique of Stick Sage revolved around Daredevil as the main attacker, with Erika providing support. Their strikes were relentless, creating an onslaught that resembled a torrential storm. Whenever one created an opening, the other would fill it without any pause, relying on timing to maintain their assault.
This combined technique had very few weaknesses; however, Shasha still identified one flaw.
It was a weakness that stemmed from Erika herself; there seemed to be a lack of synergy between her and Daredevil.
Even when there was a brief pause in their attacks, Shasha's dynamic vision captured it. After confirming it three times, he seized the opportunity and struck decisively. With just one blow, their combination was shattered.
Shasha slid forward and seized Daredevil's wrist as he staggered back. With a sudden burst of strength, he lifted him off the ground and slammed him down hard. His right foot followed through with a powerful kick to Daredevil's head!
Bang!
Daredevil felt a sharp pain in his head as consciousness slipped into darkness.
On the other side, seeing Daredevil unconscious, Erika's face darkened instantly. Although she and Daredevil were no longer as close as before, they were still from the same school and had shared past bonds.
Fueled by anger, she retaliated fiercely, momentarily gaining the upper hand.
If Daredevil had been awake, he would have noticed that Shasha could have killed him multiple times but chose not to. This allowed Erika to take control of the situation, which was partly due to his restraint.
In her fury, Erika remained unaware of this and unleashed even more ferocious attacks.
Not wanting to hurt Erika, Shasha kept dodging until Erika's strength began to wane, her strikes growing softer and weaker.
Finally, she realized that she hadn't even touched the hem of this guy's clothes. Suddenly stopping, she coldly asked, "Why aren't you fighting back? Are you trying to humiliate me?"
The faint moonlight filtered through the tangled shadows of the alley, casting mottled light, and one patch illuminated Erika's face, allowing Shasha to see the familiar features, even as anger flickered across her expression.
After a moment of silence, just as Erika was beginning to lose patience, Shasha took a deep breath and said calmly, "He's not dead. You take him back and tell him not to try to mess with me or the Skull Society from now on. Otherwise, next time it won't just be a fainting spell."
Hearing that Daredevil was merely unconscious, Erika couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. In her heart, she could only describe Daredevil's predicament in two words: deserved it!
She had warned him not to provoke powerful enemies; now he was reaping what he had sown—no one else was to blame.
Silently lifting Daredevil onto her shoulder, Erika turned to leave. Before she did, she cast a deep glance at Shasha, her brow slightly furrowing. This person felt somewhat familiar.
Watching Erika depart, Shasha exhaled. She knew that as long as Erika was doing well, that was enough for her. This also resolved one of her lingering concerns. The fact that she had knocked Daredevil unconscious not only completed half of her main quest but also added a sensory ability from Daredevil to her Villain Reputation Store.
If it weren't for the fact that her villain points were only around 4,000, she would have exchanged them long ago; after all, Daredevil's sensory abilities were quite impressive.
The conflict with Daredevil was merely an interlude; her life had to go on.
For several days, peace reigned without anyone disturbing her life. Beck gradually grew from a four-month-old puppy; his once drooping ears showed signs of standing up, perfectly fitting his shepherd characteristics.
Wanda Maximoff, who had visited Shasha's home several times, quickly grew fond of the pup because he was smart, lively, and never caused any trouble—just like a well-behaved child.
However, Shasha was unaware that as Beck grew older, his eyes reflected a hint of inexplicable complexity. If he looked closely enough, he would realize that this complexity resembled more of what belonged to humans.
But Shasha couldn't see it, and Beck wouldn't let him see it; it was his secret.
After resting for several days, Shasha finally made a rare visit to the company. This surprised everyone who thought their ruler would no longer attend morning meetings and relieved Wanda Maximoff, who had been waiting for quite some time.
Wanda Maximoff had abilities, but she lacked the necessary finesse and authority, which led many to be outwardly compliant while secretly dismissive of her.
Shasha intended to train her in these areas and help her establish credibility, so that even when he was not present in the company, she could handle any situation effectively, though it would be challenging.
Indeed, Wanda Maximoff did not disappoint Shasha's trust; even in his absence, she managed to keep the company running smoothly through her personal skills and management techniques.
With this success, Shasha began to consider whether he should do this more often.
If the mutant community found out how he was utilizing the Scarlet Witch, they might very well tear him apart.
Shasha wasn't worried about that; having just returned to the company, he stepped out again after receiving a phone call.
It was from Tony Stark.
