"Obadiah has been persuading the other shareholders on the board to sell their stocks to him, aiming to acquire a significant portion of Stark Industries," Tony replied, his tone weary and heavy. It was clear that this situation had caught him off guard and drained his energy. He probably never expected that his past connections would lead him into such a passive position.
After considering for a moment, Shasha said, "You should hold off for now. Wait until I figure out the situation with Hammer Industries."
"Are you really planning to swallow Hammer Industries?" Tony asked in surprise. He had thought that Shasha was just playing around; after all, Hammer Industries was an established military giant. How could one possibly acquire it without hundreds of billions of dollars in liquid assets? In his impression, Shasha certainly didn't seem to have that kind of money.
"Did you think I was just joking?" Shasha chuckled. "Don't worry; when I set my mind to something, I see it through. The funds are ready; I just need the right moment to act."
"You really are something else," Tony remarked, impressed. "Well, I'll wish you success in advance."
Just as Tony was about to hang up, Shasha suddenly asked, "Hey Tony, can I ask you a question?"
"What is it?" Tony replied, puzzled about what Shasha wanted to know.
After pondering for a moment, Shasha finally asked, "Have you finished that thing?"
At first, Tony was taken aback, unsure of what Shasha was referring to until he recalled the item in his room. He exclaimed in shock, "How did you know about that?"
"When I saved you, I saw you working on it. I figured you wouldn't give up halfway," Shasha explained, not claiming any supernatural foresight. "If you've completed it, remember to let me see what that iron thing can do."
"Don't worry; I want to show you whether this suit can achieve what I've envisioned."
As the call ended, Shasha couldn't help but reflect on the era of heroes. If Spider-Man's emergence marked the beginning of the hero saga, then Iron Man's arrival was the clarion call for their rise.
Several events occurred in November.
An explosion took place at a military laboratory in Los Angeles, injuring dozens of researchers, including the daughter of active Major General Thaddeus E. Ross, Betty Ross.
Spider-Man captured the Lizard Doctor and sent him to America's most unique Superhuman Prison.
Daredevil reappeared, and some reported seeing a woman by his side.
Among these events, only the third caught Shasha's attention; the other two seemed inevitable. Although she didn't know what had happened to Erika afterward, it appeared that she was doing well, especially with Daredevil looking after her.
For some reason, Shasha felt a twinge of jealousy instead of comfort. After a moment of laughter at herself, she wondered if this was what it felt like to be envious.
She decided that it was time to check on Erika. Regardless of the outcome, she needed to give herself some closure.
With that decision made, Shasha continued to sift through the information on Hammer Industries. This data had been painstakingly gathered by Tock; while it wasn't entirely comprehensive, it was still useful. Having a professional spy would have been even better.
As she thought this, Shasha skimmed through the documents and discovered several crucial pieces of information.
First, Hammer Industries had lost a significant portion of its market share to Stark Industries, leading to a decline in overall production value and causing stock prices to drop. Although the decrease wasn't substantial, such trends could indicate further declines.
Second, it seemed that Hammer Industries was facing a cash flow crisis since their manufacturing materials were not self-sufficient.
Thirdly, although Hammer Industries is a family business, the board of directors holds more than fifty percent of the shares.
With these three points alone, Shasha was confident he could persuade those directors to sell their shares to him. Coupled with the small amounts he had acquired from the stock market, he could now be considered a significant shareholder.
A glimmer of thought crossed Shasha's mind as he recalled Justin Hammer's desperate expression when he was ousted from the board.
In the days that followed, aside from occasionally checking on the development of Skull Society, Shasha spent his remaining time either solidifying his training or convincing the board members of Hammer Industries to sell their stocks to him.
Now, Shasha had successfully acquired thirty-seven percent of Hammer Industries' shares, making him the second-largest shareholder. Throughout this process, Justin Hammer remained completely unaware, as Shasha was using a false identity.
At the same time, Obadiah began to take action, planning to pressure the board and force Tony out of the boardroom.
Naturally, Tony would not sit idly by; he had long been secretly competing with Obadiah over share acquisitions. However, as their rivalry escalated, it led to internal strife within Stark Industries, allowing Hammer Industries to briefly claim the top spot in total output value. They even made connections with military personnel, hinting at a potential takeover of Stark Industries as the leading defense contractor.
As night fell, in a room on the 18th floor of the Chrysler Building, Justin and Obadiah were each embracing a blonde woman while drinking and celebrating. To them, it seemed that Tony's defeat was inevitable, and they would soon enjoy the fruits of victory.
"I can't wait to see Tony Stark's face when he realizes how bad things have gotten for him. That guy has always been arrogant and dismissive of everyone; soon he'll be nothing more than a homeless man on the street," Justin laughed heartily, his seemingly refined face betraying an indescribable excitement.
Obadiah's eyes flickered at Justin's words; compared to him, he was undoubtedly more cautious. "Now more than ever, we cannot let our guard down. Although that guy is arrogant, he's not an idiot. If he seizes an opportunity to turn things around, it could be us who end up as homeless."
Hearing Obadiah's concern, Justin scoffed. "We've calculated everything to this extent; how could he possibly turn things around? Even if his funds are ample, can they compare to what you and I have combined?"
Obadiah nodded in agreement. "That's true."
"So, why overthink it? We just need to wait for tomorrow, and from then on, you and I will monopolize the entire military industry in America!" Justin said, revealing a sinister smile. "Of course, we can sell to Russia and Africa as well!"
Upon hearing this, Obadiah, a man known for his composure, couldn't help but envision a bright future.
At the same time, Shasha had finalized a deal with the last board member of Hammer Industries, acquiring five percent of the shares for 1.5 billion dollars.
As he stepped out of the hotel, the shares of Hammer Industries in his hands had already exceeded fifty-eight percent.
Meanwhile, Justin Hammer was left with only forty percent.
If that guy had any sense, he would hand over the remaining shares willingly; otherwise, he would be kicked out. If that guy insisted on resisting... With that thought, a cold glint flashed in Shasha's eyes.
Then it would be a case of mutual destruction. By massively selling off shares and orchestrating a scheme, not only could he escape unscathed but he could also bring down Hammer Industries entirely!
