Young Black Man Tock appeared to be simple and honest, but few could easily enter this prison.
He was originally the leader of a gang, but unfortunately, he lost in a turf war and was sent to prison by his rivals.
Although it was unclear how capable he truly was, his previous behavior suggested he had a knack for adapting to circumstances. At the very least, someone like him could survive longer because he knew whom to associate with and what to say.
He might not be particularly skilled or loyal, but at least he was obedient.
Shasha had him investigate the events from a year ago. Since Lao Xiao refused to tell the truth, others should know something; as long as there were clues, they wouldn’t be completely in the dark.
In just a short time, Tock brought good news.
In the activity area that belonged to Shasha, he rubbed his hands together and approached with a fawning expression. “Boss, the matter you asked me to investigate has some leads. A few old-timers in the prison who are somewhat well-informed told me that a large number of inmates were released about a year ago and then disappeared without a trace. Among them was someone named Walter Hardy.”
Released? How could someone who was released possibly die from illness? Shasha frowned; things were getting more complicated. He felt that there were some intricate matters involved. With that thought, he nodded silently and waved for Tock to leave.
After pondering for a long while, he discreetly pulled out a phone when no one was watching, opened the contacts section for Felicia, and edited a text message to send her.
The message instructed her to investigate several individuals, specifically those who had been released a year ago.
After receiving a reply from her, Shasha put away his phone and stood up to head back to his cell.
At that moment, two burly men blocked his path. One of them coldly said, “Our boss wants you to come over.”
Shasha raised an eyebrow and then grinned maliciously. “You think I’ll just go because you say so? That would make me look weak.”
The expression of the burly man changed as he opened his mouth to scold him. However, Shasha acted first; he threw a powerful right hook that sent blood splattering from the man on his right, several teeth flying out before he collapsed to the ground.
Without pausing, he swiftly turned and delivered a kick that pinned the man on his left against the wall.
Seeing this scene unfold, others hesitated to act recklessly. From the corner where the burly man had come from, more than ten bare-chested tattooed thugs rushed towards Shasha, charging at him with fierce momentum.
Shasha did not refuse. Even Spider-Man, with his incredibly strong physique, could not withstand his punches and kicks, let alone this group of ordinary gangsters. As his strength continued to grow through training and his skills became more refined, his compatibility with Liquid Snake reached 80%, resulting in an ability enhancement of at least four times.
Both his strength and speed were on a different level, and as a result, the gangsters suffered greatly.
Minutes later, aside from Shasha, hardly anyone was able to stand. At that moment, several guards rushed in but hesitated upon seeing the scene before them. After all, their Warden had repeatedly instructed them not to provoke this guy.
However, Shasha did not make things difficult for them. He stepped over the heads of a few fallen men and returned to his room.
This farce was witnessed by many, who were not only amazed by Shasha's fighting ability but also frequently glanced toward one corner belonging to the Drug Lord Faction. They were eager to see how those who had been so thoroughly humiliated would react.
To their disappointment, there was no reaction at all. The middle-aged leader of the faction didn't even look at his subordinates before leaving, which truly disappointed those hoping for a spectacle.
However, unlike the others, Lao Xiao's expression revealed a hint of peculiarity; he felt that this was some sort of test.
When the leader of the Drug Lord Faction returned to his room and closed the iron door behind him, a guard with an unusual physique leaned against the door and asked in a neutral tone, "Did you notice anything?"
The middle-aged man slowly shook his head. "He shouldn't be an undercover agent sent to the prison."
The strange guard nodded. "BSS intends to recruit him. If he needs anything, you cannot refuse."
The middle-aged man silently nodded; he understood how he had come to be in this position and knew what needed to be done.
Just as the guard was about to leave, he suddenly asked, "By the way, I heard that over 100 people have died in this prison?"
The middle-aged man paused for a moment before nodding. "That is true. They supposedly contracted a contagious disease, but they claimed it was due to other reasons; very few know the real story."
The guard nodded with a hint of amusement at the corner of his mouth. "In such a tightly controlled prison, it's interesting that a disease could emerge. It seems there might be some secrets here."
Indeed, there were secrets. A fully equipped prison should not have any contagious diseases; before admitting inmates, they would conduct health checks. If any diseases were found, entry into the prison would be impossible.
As the prison guard was about to leave the cell area, his gaze briefly flicked over the dazed Frank. His brow furrowed slightly before he silently walked away.
This person seemed to have lost his soul.
If Shasha's mental strength were strong enough, she would notice Frank's issue just like this strange guard did.
He had not suffered any blow, nor was he self-isolating; rather, someone had taken his soul, leaving him with only the shell of consciousness. That was why he appeared so silent and unresponsive.
Regardless of the prison situation, Felicia, after investigating those individuals as per Shasha's request, found that they seemed to have evaporated from the world. There was no indication of whether they were alive or dead.
It was as if they no longer existed in this world.
After informing Shasha of her findings through a brief message, Felicia frowned and fell into deep thought.
